Bad day at work

Eva was over the moon to share her exciting news with her coworkers the next day at work. "Guys, I got accepted into the school!" she exclaimed, beaming with joy and relief.

Her coworkers gathered around her, congratulating her with warm smiles and pats on the back. "That's amazing, Eva! We're so proud of you!" one of them said. "You must be thrilled!" another added.

As they chatted, their boss, Mr. Johnson, walked into the room, his expression stern. "What's all the commotion about?" he asked gruffly.

Eva hesitated, feeling a bit nervous. "I just got accepted into school, sir," she replied, trying to sound professional.

Mr. Johnson's expression softened slightly. "Well, congratulations, Eva. But remember, you're still on the clock. Get back to work, all of you! We have a lot of customers to serve today. And Eva, don't think that this means you can slack off. You still have to prove yourself."

Eva nodded, taking the tray and making her way to table 13. As she poured wine for the lady, her hand trembled slightly, and she accidentally spilled it on the woman's expensive-looking dress.

The lady's face turned red with anger. "You clumsy fool!" she shouted, slapping Eva across the face. "You're incompetent! I demand to see your manager! I'm going to make sure you lose your job! You're worthless!"

Tears pricked at Eva's eyes as she fell to her knees, apologizing profusely. "I'm so sorry, ma'am. It was an accident, I swear! Please forgive me! I'll do anything to make it right! I'll work extra shifts, I'll do extra tasks, just please don't fire me! I need this job to support my grandmother. She's all I have left."

The lady called Mr. Johnson over, her voice shrill. "Fire her! She's incompetent! I'll make sure to write a scathing review and ruin your restaurant's reputation! No one deserves to be treated like this! She's a disgrace to your establishment!"

Eva begged, her voice shaking. "Please, Mr. Johnson, don't fire me. I need this job. I'll do anything. Please, have mercy! I'll work harder than ever before. I'll make sure nothing like this ever happens again."

Just then, Lucas, a regular vip customer and son of a wealthy and well-known businessman in the country, walked into the restaurant. He spotted Eva on her knees, tears streaming down her face, and his expression turned concerned.

He approached Mr. Johnson and the lady, his voice calm and authoritative. "What seems to be the problem here? Why is she crying?"

The lady explained the situation, and Lucas listened attentively. Then, he turned to Mr. Johnson. "I think we can resolve this without firing her. She's a hard worker, and accidents happen. How about a warning, instead? And maybe a complimentary meal for the lady?"

Mr. Johnson hesitated, then nodded. "Alright, Lucas. You've always been a reasonable man. I'll give her another chance. But Eva, you need to be more careful. This is a warning. Next time, it's termination. And no more mistakes, or you're out! You're lucky Lucas is a good customer, or you'd be gone!"

Eva thanked Lucas profusely, relief washing over her. "Thank you so much, I owe you one. You're a lifesaver! I'll never forget this! I'll make sure to be more careful, I promise! I'll work extra hard to prove myself!"

Lucas smiled kindly. "Don't mention it. Just be more careful next time, okay? And don't worry, I'll make sure to leave a good review to counteract any negative ones. You're a great waitress, and you deserve a second chance. Just don't let me down!"

The lady huffed but seemed placated by Lucas's intervention. Eva served her and her companion with a renewed sense of determination, making sure everything was perfect. As they left, the lady even gave Eva a small smile and a nod of Approval.

Eva breathed a sigh of relief as she returned to the kitchen. She knew she still had a lot to prove, but with Lucas's help, she felt more confident then ever that she could over come any obstacle. She was determined to make the most of her second chance and show everyone that she was capable of greatness.
