Roger lifted his head and glanced around, but he didn't see Henrik or Hathaway on the sofa.
"Where have the two of them gone?"
Moving his hand down his neck, Roger didnt find any mollusks, but he touched the steel sword he was carrying on his back.
He had already set up the array last night. If there really were ghosts in this room, they definitely couldn't hide their presence under the active array.
A sliver of light shone through the window as dawn was just breaking, but the sun had not yet risen.
"What's going on?"
"Did I really sleep through the entire night without realizing it?"
Roger stood up.
"Henrik!"
He yelled out loud.
The vast villa remained unresponsive.
"Did they go out?"
Roger pushed open the bedroom door.
Outside, the sky was faintly bright, looking somewhat overcast, with moist air and the villa's front lawn covered in morning dew.
Looking into the distance, the mist enshrouded everything, and Roger could only see about 20 meters ahead at most.
