"Strange, why is it so crowded again?" Stelle walked through the space station, noticing the busy staff members around her, feeling puzzled.

Up ahead, Asta was giving orders to a group of staff members.

"Good morning, Asta," Stelle approached and greeted her.

Asta turned her head and smiled warmly, "Good morning, Stelle. Last night's party was fantastic. It's been a long time since I had such a good time."

"Though, it probably wasn't as great for Herta," Stelle mumbled quietly.

"Hmm? What did you say?" Asta didn't catch it, so she leaned in closer with her ears perked up.

"Ahem, nothing." Stelle quickly changed the subject, "By the way, why are the staff so busy again? Is another big shot coming?"

Asta nodded, "That's right. This time, it's Genius Society member #81, Ruan Mei."

"Ruan Mei... oh, the one from the Simulated Universe." Stelle recalled the green orb she saw in the Simulated Universe, "Is she that impressive?"

"She's just as brilliant as Herta. Ruan Mei is undoubtedly a genius scholar. I heard she took a break on a desert planet recently and, when she left, she had already created a grand miracle of species prosperity there," Asta explained.

Stelle rubbed her chin, "So, right now, there are three geniuses gathered at the space station. This must be a rare sight, right?"

"It's not just rare; it's almost a miracle. After all, most geniuses are very reclusive, and Herta is considered one of the more sociable ones," Asta said, explaining to Stelle.

"Reclusive... So, is this Ruan Mei like that too?" Stelle scratched her head.

Asta nodded, "If Herta is considered sociable among geniuses... Ruan Mei is considered reclusive even among geniuses. She almost never interacts with others and lives like a hermit."

"Geniuses are really quirky... By the way, where is she now?" Stelle looked around but didn't see anything green.

"Herta said she took her to meet Gu Tang. It seems Ruan Mei..." Asta was cut off mid-sentence.

Boom!

A loud noise interrupted their conversation.

Stelle and Asta felt the ground tremble slightly beneath their feet.

---

Gu Tang was working on a new invention.

He picked up a massive hammer and struck it heavily a few times, sparks flying everywhere.

"Okay, it's done."

A seemingly ordinary pair of glasses appeared, still emitting a bit of hot steam.

"X-ray glasses... wonder where these could come in handy. Anyway, I'll put them away for now." Gu Tang stuffed the glasses into his storage bag.

"Hey, Gu Tang, I brought her over," Herta walked in, followed by a graceful woman with long black hair.

Her black hair was tied up in a bun at the back with a DNA-shaped jade hairpin, both beautiful and unique.

Her cyan eyes were like deep lakes, rippling softly. But in that beautiful gaze, there was a calmness and indifference, as if nothing could stir her emotions.

Her skin was white and as smooth as jade, delicate as morning dew sliding over a lotus leaf.

The traditional Xianzhou attire she wore added to her elegance and tranquility.

She looked like an ethereal fairy, untouched by the mundane world.

"This is Genius Society member #81, Ruan Mei—one of the few I consider as great as myself," Herta introduced her to Gu Tang.

Ruan Mei walked gracefully over to Gu Tang.

Gu Tang extended his hand for a handshake, "Hello, I am—"

But he was interrupted.

Instead of shaking his hand, Ruan Mei reached out and touched Gu Tang's neck with her fingers.

Gu Tang raised an eyebrow but didn't stop her.

Ruan Mei's fingers brushed over Gu Tang's neck, cheek, and jawline.

Then, she furrowed her brows.

"Had enough?" Gu Tang asked calmly.

"Ah, I hope I didn't startle you," Ruan Mei withdrew her hand. "This is my work habit. By touching and opening my senses, I can let the details of life flow into my mind, which helps me understand your biological structure."

"Interesting. So, did you learn anything?" Gu Tang blinked with curiosity.

Ruan Mei shook her head, looking rather troubled, "Nothing but fragmented and meaningless data. This is the first time I've encountered something like this..."

"Is that so? What a pity..." Gu Tang sighed, "Well, now it's my turn. You'll pay the price for your rudeness."

"Huh?" Ruan Mei was taken aback.

Gu Tang mimicked Ruan Mei's gesture, extending two fingers and gently tapping them on Ruan Mei's forehead.

A terrifying force exploded.

Boom—!

With a loud noise, a shockwave spread out, blowing Herta's hair back.

Ruan Mei flew backward like a cannonball.

Crash—! Crash—! Crash—!

She smashed through three walls before landing heavily in a warehouse, buried under boxes of miscellaneous items.

"Hmph, rude people," Gu Tang adjusted his collar and said to Herta, "If there's more to discuss, have her come to my room. Also, make sure she changes clothes; I won't allow anyone covered in dust into my room."

After speaking, Gu Tang left.

Herta looked at the gaping holes in the walls.

With her hands behind her back, she leisurely walked through the three large holes and arrived at the place where Ruan Mei was buried.

"Ruan Mei? Still alive?" Herta kicked away a few boxes, revealing Ruan Mei's face.

Ruan Mei looked at Herta expressionlessly, "You should have told me earlier about how violently he might react..."

"Yeah, I did it on purpose. I was thinking if Gu Tang got mad, he would punish me hard. Instead, you got all the benefits; such a loss..." Herta sighed in regret.

Ruan Mei gave Herta a complicated look, "…You've changed a lot, Herta."

"It's called growth and progress," Herta replied as she pulled Ruan Mei up from the ground.

Standing up, Ruan Mei raised her hand and looked at her palm, "If I hadn't prepared the shield in advance, I might have died fifty or so times."

"How many layers of shields did you prepare?" Herta asked.

"Seventy-five," Ruan Mei answered truthfully.

"How many are left now?" Herta continued to ask.

"...Zero." Ruan Mei hesitated before answering.

Herta smiled, "That's great, Ruan Mei. It seems Gu Tang decided you weren't guilty enough to die."

"..." For once, even Ruan Mei didn't know how to respond.

"Alright, alright, let's go to my office, take a bath, and change into some clean clothes," Herta gave her a thumbs-up.

"Just right, I have a lot of questions," Ruan Mei said thoughtfully, looking at Herta, "About Gu Tang, and about the relationship between you two. I want to figure it all out..."

---

Meanwhile, March 7 had found Asta.

"Asta! I've uncovered everything about you and Gu Tang's relationship." She burst into Asta's room and shouted.

Asta was stunned, "What's going on?"
