Chapter 5: Gaining the Inheritance

"Xiaowei!"

Li Hongmei, in a panic, threw away the deity statue and urgently called out before she began to shake Zhang Xiaowei's body.

But no matter how she shook him, there was no movement from Zhang Xiaowei.

Without any ideas, Li Hongmei could only shout loudly.

"Grandma, come quick!"

After shouting, she then noticed that Zhang Xiaowei was still between her legs.

In a rush, she pushed him and jumped down from the table.

The old lady was also somewhat uneasy, fearing that Zhang Xiaowei would not dare to force himself, so she had been waiting outside the door.

Just now, when she had heard Li Hongmei's scream, she had felt delighted.

Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, Li Hongmei's voice would be filled with distress?

Feeling that something was wrong, the old lady hurriedly ran into the room.

Who knew that upon entering, she would see the undressed Li Hongmei, her face filled with panic, supporting Zhang Xiaowei.

"Hongmei, what happened to Xiaowei?"

"Grandma, I really didn't mean to kill him. He was messing around just now, and I just hit him with the deity statue. Who knew he couldn't take a hit like that!"

Li Hongmei sobbed as she recounted the situation.

The old lady, upon hearing this, rolled her eyes and collapsed to the ground.

Li Hongmei was scared senseless.

No sooner had she knocked Zhang Xiaowei out cold, the old lady was in trouble.

She couldn't care about Zhang Xiaowei at the moment and hurried over to support the old lady, pounding on her chest and patting her back, finally managing to revive the old lady from her choked condition.

"Oh, what sin did our old Zhang family commit? Oh Lord, do you really want to wipe out the Zhang family's lineage? Had I known this, I would never have forced Xiaowei to sleep with Hongmei to the point of death."

Li Hongmei, who was about to comfort the old lady, was suddenly struck by this revelation as if it were a bolt from the blue.

She should have realized that no matter how bold Zhang Xiaowei was, he shouldn't have overtaken her in front of his grandmother.

It turned out that the instigator of all this was the old lady with whom she had been living for more than half a year.

But blaming her now was of no use.

The most important thing was Zhang Xiaowei's condition.

"Grandma, don't cry. I don't know if he is dead or not, I'll go check again."

Li Hongmei let go of the old lady and walked back to Zhang Xiaowei.

Upon hearing this, the old lady suddenly came to a realization.

"Hongmei, we should hurry and take Xiaowei to the hospital!"

Li Hongmei's eyebrows were tightly knit as she took a deep breath to steady her mind, and her delicate fingers slowly reached towards Zhang Xiaowei's nostrils.

Instantly, her fingers felt a faint warmth of breath.

Overjoyed, Li Hongmei quickly flipped through Zhang Xiaowei's hair to check and then patted her proud chest, breathing a huge sigh of relief.

"Grandma, Xiaowei's not dead, he just broke some skin and passed out, he should wake up soon."

The old lady finally breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, her old face became burning hot, and she dared not look at Li Hongmei anymore.

"It's good that he's fine, it's good that he's fine."

She murmured a few words, then she and Li Hongmei together lifted Zhang Xiaowei onto the bed.

At this very moment, Zhang Xiaowei, who was unconscious, was enveloped in a white light.

Could this be heaven?

As Zhang Xiaowei was aimlessly guessing.

A vigorous voice came from the nothingness.

"Back in the day, I, an old master, had great cultivation and medical skills but lamented the lack of a suitable member of the Zhang clan to pass them on to. Now, this remnant soul of mine has at last found a clan member with exceptional talents. Little child, just receive everything!"

The old man's voice seemed extremely excited.

Zhang Xiaowei, not understanding, was about to ask, but suddenly found that the vast white light around him was quickly converging towards him.

Before he could react, an overwhelming force abruptly surged into his mind.
