27. Born of Flame

A large fire breaks out at Briarwood, New York. A fire team responds and is currently on the scene doing their best to control the situation.

"Lower! Aim the water lower!" Firefighter 1

"We need oxygen for these two kids!" Firefighter 2

"Where's the chief and rookie?" Firefighter 3

"Inside looking for the mom of those two." Firefighter 4

Inside of the burning building Fire Chief Edward Mathews and their newest addition Marcos Salazar are located on the second floor searching for the woman of the house who cries for help.

"Marcos!! Over here!!" Chief Edward

Marcos rushes over to see the chief standing over the woman who's leg is pinned under pieces of the ceiling.

"My babies! Where are my babies?!" Woman

"They're safe ma'am you're the only one left. Marcos, you lift and I'll pull her out." Chief Edward

"Right." Marcos said getting a good grasp of the largest debris piece.

Marcos was able to lift the large piece and Edward quickly pulls the woman away.

"My leg! Its broken!" Woman

"Believe me lady thats an understatement." Marcos says looking at her bone sticking out of her leg.

"With that being said I'll carry her while you take point." Edward

"Got it." Marcos

At the same time. In a far off galaxy. A battle is underway between a large fire bird engulfed in bright orange flames and a large creature resembling that of a grim reaper engulfed in dark energy.

"I will have your flame!" Dark Reaper

"Not while I still draw breath!" Fire Bird

Multiple clashes of Darkness and Flame are made with great veracity. The battle goes on but the fire bird finds itself losing its power.

"What's the matter? Your flames seem to be dwindling at a rapid pace! Its not because I took out the sun is it?" Dark Reaper

The fire bird didn't respond because whenever it needed extra fire power it would fly straight towards the sun but, its current foe took the liberty of wiping it out.

"Your fire is lacking its natural heat! Without a proper host I'm afraid, it won't be coming back!" Dark Reaper

The advantage was clearly out of the fire bird's favor. The dark reaper was able to attack the fire bird at some of it's vital points and was able to immobilize it.

"And here we are! Finally!! I've waited centuries for this exact moment... Let's not waiste anymore time dwelling." Dark Reaper says then forms a large scythe form it's dark energy.

Back to the fire in Briarwood, Marcos and Edward slowly make their way down the stairs with the female in Edwards arms.

"Almost there chief. How's she holding up?" Marcos

"She's unconscious but the oxygen is doing its job. All you gotta do is clear that pile and we're home free rookie. Get to it." Chief Edward

"Aye sir!" Marcos

Marcos immediately went to work on clearing the way.

"After you ladies." Marcos said stepping aside from the path he cleared.

"Oh you got jokes now? HA! That's me laughing." Edward

The moment Edward begins to walk out is the exact moment that Marcos glanced up to notice another piece of the roof is going to fall.

"Chief!" Marcos yells as he pushes Edward and the woman outside.

Edward lands on his back with the woman on top of him. The rubble falls on top of Marcos covering him completely and the flames engulf the entire pile.

"Marcos!!" Edward yells as he quickly gets to his feet to run back for Marcos.

He was quickly stopped by one of the other fireman nearest to the door entrance.

"Ed! We can't get past the fire Ed! We have to take out the flames first!" Firefighter 3

"He won't make it in time! Marcos!!" Edward

Back over at the battle, the reaper formed a large scythe from its dark energy and it began the finishing blow. Before the blade was able to make contact, the fire bird sensed a phenomena that occurred in a very far distant region which in fact caught his attention.

"At last!" Fire Bird

The fire bird shined brightly, turned into a form of light and shoots off towards the phenomena.

"NO! I was so close to winning!!" The reaper yells in the direction of the fire bird.

The beam of light moves through the cold reaches of space reaching the speed of light and still goes further on. It makes its way past Global one where Stacey Colton is located overseeing any further repairs needed.

"Hm?... What the?!" Stacey said noticing the beam of light head straight for the Earth.

The beam of light meets its destination at the house covered in flames in Briarwood. It collides, emits a blinding light and once the light ceased everyone in attendance open their eyes to see that the flames are no more.

"Whoa.." Chief Edward

Once Edward snapped out of his confusion he quickly ran to the aid of Marcos but, once Edward arrived to the front door he witnesses Marcos burst out of the debris that fell on top of him. Their eyes meet and both of their faces show every sign of disbelief.

"Whoa...." Marcos
