Chapter 35 – Dealing With the Deity

When evening came, the street filled with lights from lamp posts. The restaurant was lit up like it was in the morning. People who finished their work drank together around a table. Tom also joined, mainly dragged by his father.

Amy and Mary had come to the restaurant with Tina. The twins introduced themselves to David.

"Hello, I am Amy Arlet, Tom's girlfriend. And this is my twin, Mary!"

"Hi, I am also his girlfriend. We are here to help since we have quite a lot free time. I hope you don't mind us bothering for a while."

David was stunned at first, but he managed to reply.

"O-oh? Twins? Hahaha... They are quite cute. Thank you for being with my son and for coming to my humble restaurant. Hehe, you probably wanted to meet me and ask for my blessing, huh? Sure, you can have him. But damn, son. You get twins for your first and second girlfriend? Atta boy!" He gave thumbs up at Tom.

"Don't embarrass me, dad." Tom sighed, feeling tired. He sat down at a chair between Amy and Mary. "Still... I am quite surprised that you took my relationship this easily."

He believed this relationship of his was kind of special and it wasn't something his father would happily accept. It was more like how his father acted, it was like... a bit strange that David accepted it easily and even teased him.

Tom watched his father grinned cheekily. David didn't seem to mind or comments about his decision of having 2 girlfriends.

"Your sister also accepted your relationship after talking to the girls. But first, take these before drinking. My treat." He offered Tom three beer cans and gestured to drink.

David never really raised any sort of negative opinion on things like being polygamous. Heck, he was one of the biggest playboys in the past before he met his wife and his second wife. So when Tom said about having two girlfriends, the guy gave his complete support without question.

Tom appreciated the sentiment. And he was glad his father supported him.

Accepting the beer, Tom looked at Amy and Mary.

"And that's what he said." He pointed out.

"Then, can we call you Father?" Mary asked, and Amy nodded repeatedly.

"Yes, can we? But really? Nothing? You didn't object?" Amy asked further. "It's kinda shocking. I mean, he's dating both of us, you know?"

"Hahaha! He did such a good job capturing two gorgeous and young ladies. Even if he takes ten girls as his girlfriend, as a father, I would allow him to! That shows how capable he is as a man." David replied joyfully.

Amy and Mary looked at each other and grinned.

"Thank you, Father! Also... Hm, well, you know, he really was a good catch, but..." Mary pondered a bit. "His sexual stamina and appetite are incredible..."

Mary tried her best to restrain her shyness, but still, she ended up with a flushed face.

"Yeah, as expected, our bodies still have limits!" Amy exclaimed and grinned.

"Girls! No..." Tom yelled.

Tina had been watching silently but immediately reacted the moment Tom's private life was thrown into the light.

"Not in front of me! Stop talking about him and your private things!"

However, her plea fell into deaf ears, and the two were still in conversation with David. Tom had to stop them from revealing his other sexual life.

If they continued revealing more about his sexual desire, the image his dad and Tina had of him would be gone and replaced by the image of the pervert.

Just as he managed to stop them, he could feel a gaze landing on the back of his head. Looking back, he found Mireya, staring at him from the corner of his restaurant, but her position didn't allow the other people at their table to see her.

The purple eyes reflected the light from lamp posts. This only served to remind him how much trouble he was in.

"Dad, girls... I need to do something. Be right back, ok?" Tom excused himself with an apologetic tone and went to her.

"Try not to!" Tina ordered, frowning a bit before averting her eyes.

"Go! Enjoy yourself!" David grinned proudly. He had noticed Mireya standing outside the restaurant.

Rolling his eyes, Tom whispered something to the girls before pulling Mireya away, taking her toward the sea.

"Stay quiet..." He said.

Mireya had been eyeing him but remained silent. After they reached the empty place, he looked at her and waited for her to speak up.

"Explain what you did. I sense some... tingling, to be more precise. Some weird power was used on my body and soul. An odd sensation, but I don't really know what that means."

Tom shrugged. He would have liked it to end quickly and walk away, but he would have to break a sweat to avoid getting hurt first.

And the best way to do that was... by using the once again.

"Please don't get startled, okay? I mean no harm." He warned her first.

Tom proceeded with and her information was displayed in a window in front of him. Mireya couldn't see it, but her body shuddered for a second when he used an on her.

"...did it again. My body shook."

'It really did work... She felt my Appraisal, but... It's time to explain if I don't want to die.'

"So? What was that power?"

"Umm..." He stroked his hair. This was getting complicated, but he guessed there was nothing else that could solve the misunderstanding.

Tom glanced around. After making sure no one could hear him beside this sealed Deity, he spoke.

"That's kind of my special eye. I can see someone's information based on what they were in a picture. I learned it accidentally when I was... uh... Hitting on a girl in a club. So, yeah. I saw that you're a beautiful girl and accidentally casted it on you."

Mireya looked at him, half-doubtful, and half-belief. She understood he wasn't lying, but it was her nature to question everything.

"Information in a photo... I have never heard of such a power like that."

"Well, maybe it's unique to me?" Tom said.

He really hoped and counted on the new skill he got.

'I hope my work.>

was working to increase his credibility. Naturally, it also came with a quest.

─Ding!

[Use the skill to change someone's view toward you.]

This was an odd quest, but something he didn't mind doing. If he couldn't change Mireya's view toward him, he would be in danger nonetheless.

The sealed deity never let her eyes go, remaining silent as she observed his expression.

"That sounds absurd. What kind of information is displayed in that... picture?" Mireya inquired while folding her arms below her massive breasts, accentuating them. "Could you show me?"

A ridiculous request. She had him dead. And because of her inquisitive stare, he got scared, feeling a little meek and losing his cool. But of course, that was unacceptable. He needed his mental state calm and composed or things would only become harder.

"I can't show you but... The info only contained general ones, like how people see you. For example, in your case, I can see your real name and-" He stopped talking as a shiver ran down his spine when he felt his consciousness falling deeper.

"A-anyway. Do you have enough? My family is waiting back in the restaurant. I swear I have nothing to do with you and only admire cute girls."

She laughed but shook her head lightly.

"Yes... Perhaps you are speaking the truth."

Mireya didn't continue or press him for further information.

"I will see you tomorrow, then. We need to have a long talk."

In the end, she said that and went her way.

Watching her swaying hip disappeared, Tom exhaled the breathe he unconsciously held back, relieved. His legs gave up under the pressure and he sat on the sand.

─Ding!

[Quest finished. recharged.]
