Farm Upgrade

After a few minutes of waiting Darren was starting to think something went wrong but then a sudden shudder in the ground and a simultaneous vibration in his heart told him that it was complete. His farm was at level 2.

[Congratulations! You have upgraded your farm territory to level two!]

[Please Choose a Direction for your farm to take in the future.]

[Note: Every level will provide the user with new direction choices to further advance the farm.]

[Spirit Plant Sanctuary]

[Spirit Animal Sanctuary]

[Coastal Military Outpost]

[Fishing Village]

There were only four options and Darren found that each one was connected in some way to his four most populated Departments, Hunter, Fishing, Animal Research, and Plant Research Departments.

Darren thought about what would be most beneficial in the short run as he knew that he would be able to choose a different Direction later on at later levels. Darren felt that the fishing and military outpost options weren't in consideration since he didn't lack food and it wasn't like they were fighting a war and were prone to get attacked at any time; he had the system's protection from something like that anyways.

Darren then considered the two main parts of his farm, he needed to pick a direction and he had already made his choice. He would go with the Animal Sanctuary path as he had already discovered one of his turtles had the potential to become extremely powerful and the more subordinates a powerful being has the better his foundations.

" I choose Spirit Animal Sanctuary." Darren said and another screen appeared in front of him.

[Spirit Animal Sanctuary Chosen. Starting reconstruction. Please wait...]

[Complete, Please choose a animal habitat to automatically upgrade.]

[Spirit Chicken]

[Spirit Dog]

[Spirit Turtle]

Darren chose Spirit turtle and another rumble was heard from the ground. After everything settled down, he opened the status of his territory.

[Territory: Wuguay Farm]

[Contracted: Darren Jones]

[Level: 2]

[Soul: Infancy Stage]

[Affinities: Earth, Water, Life]

[Upgrade Requirements: 100 Members, Teleportation Hub Unlocked, 100 gold]

Looking at the information pertaining to the upgrade requirements, Darren frowned a bit. ' I would need to increase my current population by a factor of 5 and also figure out how to unlock the Teleportation Hub.' Darren thought.

It did remind Darren of how rich he was right now considering the measly 100 gold upgrade price and decided to see if he could buy anything else that was cool. Darren pulled up the store and said aloud.

" System please find me useful items within my budget." A new screen with a list of items appeared and Darren started going through it.

[Spirit Condensing Array -- Intermediate Quality]

[Price: 100 gold]

[Description: A powerful Array intended to have a 5% chance for a ordinary animal to awaken into a Spirit Animal. If used on a Spirit Animal it will have a strengthening effect on their potential. Works once a day]

----------------------

[Spirit Egg Array -- Low Quality]

[Price: 85 gold]

[Description: This Array slowly imbues whatever is within it's confines with spirit energy allowing for higher potential when fully grown. Commonly used on Spirit Eggs however can be used on anything. Is active at all times]

-------------------------

[Spirit Egg Gacha -- Intermediate Quality]

[Price: 100 gold]

[Description: A random Intermediate Spirit Egg with a 20% chance for a bloodline to appear.]

Of the list of twenty or so different types of Arrays that had in some way to do with Animals, only three of them caught Darren's attention. He first bought the Spirit Condensing Array and the Spirit Egg Array then looked at the gold remaining in his account.

[Gold: 114]

Finally he used almost the rest of his gold on a single Spirit Egg Gacha. Darren first placed his two arrays by his Spirit Animals. When doing this Darren noticed a massive change that he guessed just happened.

The Turtle Habitat had been expanded to roughly three times it's original size and the inside had been renovated accordingly as well. Darren walked over and was greeted by Turshel's voice in his head.

'Greetings my lord, I wish to thank you for expanding my home granting the turtles more land.' Darren smiled then gave a befitting answer.

' I was only recognizing your potential. Please work hard in the future for the protection of Wuguay Farm.' The turtle lowered it's neck in what Darren assumed was a bow and replied.

' I understand my lord. I will not let you down.' After speaking to Turshel a bit Darren couldn't wait any longer and received his last purchase.

[Spirit Egg Gacha -- Intermediate Quality Used!]

Shortly after the message, a black box with a open top appeared on the floor in front of him. Darren looked inside the box and found a pitch black egg about a foot in width and a foot and a half in height. Darren had almost not noticed it with the color of the box. Using inspect he found his answer to what species it was.

[Spirit Fox Egg -- Intermediate Quality]

[Time until Hatched: 2 days, 0 hours, 12 minutes]

[Daos: Death]

[Bloodline: Lord of the Undead(0.001%)]

'Hmm, a death attuned Spirit Fox with the bloodline of an Undead Lord. This is way out of expectations.' Darren thought while looking at the information displayed.

Darren decided he would place it in the Spirit Egg Array until it hatched and then he would every day place it in the Spirit Condensing Array. This should make it so the Spirit Fox has the best potential possible and could become his personal one unit army.

Darren then turned back to the system which still had a few unopened messages

[Congratulations! You have unlocked the Teleportation Hub. Please select a place to have this building occupy.]

Darren was excited to finally receive new members so he quickly chose a spot near his house and indicated for the system to start construction. In reality no construction was ever done and in an instant there appeared a tall archway with a deep matte blue filling in where the other side should have been. To the left of the archway stood a three foot tall floating tablet.

Darren rushed over and started touching the tablet to activate it. A system notification stopped him there.

[Wuguay Farm Teleporter]

[Status: Private]

[Please Choose another Teleporter to be sent to]

Thousands upon thousands of Teleporters appeared before Darren to choose from. Darren closed the tab before he could let himself explore more; he was didn't think this many people on earth could obtain a teleportation hub and Darren came to the conclusion that they must be from other planets or even solar systems.

Opening the last notification Darren had waiting for him, he was pleasantly surprised.

[Congratulations! Your Turtle Habitat has reached level 2!]

[You have received 10 Spirit Turtles and 50 gold!]

Instantly, Darren looked over at the larger Spirit Turtle Habitat and found it had ten new inhabitants. Inspecting the ten newcomers, Darren was ecstatic to find two of them with the bloodline of the Reptilian Monarch.

'Lord has brought more of our kin. I will take them in and inform them of our purpose.' Darren heard the voice of Tershel and smiled in satisfaction.

After making sure everything was running smoothly,Darren headed back to his cottage to rest. Not long after Darren had gotten many reports from the different Departments about how each department building worked.

From what Darren was told, each department building had their own little private system run store and were only available to those of their respective departments. This was fine with Darren as he had access to all the items they were selling through his own store. Aside from the store, each department also gave out group and individual quests and each quest would give a certain amount of gold.

This gold directly came from the system so the good thing was Darren never had to fork up a dime for the economy of his farm. Darren headed over to the teleportation hub after analyzing the reports as he had just unlocked a very interesting aspect of the Teleportation Hub

[Recruitment Mode Unlocked! Please visit Teleportation Hub to activate.]

After arriving at the hub Darren placed his hand on the blank stone and said aloud, " Recruitment Mode." A screen appeared a moment later.

[Recruitment Mode: Will send general information about your Farm to various Mass Recruitment Stations around the Multiverse. You will get notifications for all applications and will be able to Accept or Reject respectively.]

[Note: Mass Recruitment Stations are tools used by the system in order to reorganize newly integrated beings. This is quite helpful considering thousands of planets are integrated each minute and not all of them can withstand the pressure of integration.]

Darren understood now; most of the beings at these recruitment stations were beings from planets that couldn't withstand the integration and crumbled apart. It's good that the system doesn't just leave these people to die in space and this is good for me because it should hopefully be how I reach 100 population.

Darren thought about it for a bit and decided on a good one.

Nodding in satisfaction Darren looked over his info one more time before activating Recruitment Mode.

Now all he had to do was wait.
