Chapter 15

"No, thank you. I'm not hungry. You can take it away..." Tsirvini directly refused, leaving the waiter standing there in a daze, unsure whether to bring the food in or take it away.

Tsirvini turned around, grabbed her bag from the room, and glanced at the card. A pang of pain shot through her heart, but she didn't hesitate any longer. She walked past the stunned waiter at the door and left the suite...

Not even a day had passed, and her life had already undergone such a drastic change. Walking under the neon lights, Tsirvini felt utterly lost about her future.

A car pulled up beside her and honked twice. Tsirvini didn't seem to notice and continued walking.

A figure got out of the car and stood behind her. "Tsirvini?"

Daniel arrived at the hotel more than half an hour later than the time agreed upon with his parents.

Patrick saw his son stepping through the door and immediately got up to rush towards him. This brat was getting more and more out of hand; he didn't even listen to a word they said.

"Mom..." Daniel wasn't surprised to see the fierce woman charging at him. With his signature smile, he gave her a big hug.

But Patrick was not having any of it and pushed him away. "Were you fooling around in some woman's bed again and lost track of time? I heard from your secretary that you left the office before closing time. Are you so desperate now? How did I end up with a son whose hormones are so out of control..."

"Thanks for the compliment, Mom. You really know me inside out..." Daniel replied fearlessly, leaning down to plant a kiss on her still beautiful face.

"You brat..." Patrick pushed him away again. "The Thomases have been waiting for a long time. You'd better stay through this entire meal and not run off halfway, got it?"

"Got it..." Daniel rubbed his nose, looking helpless at his mother's nagging. His mind, however, flashed back to the call he received from the hotel as he walked in. She left without eating? Was she angry? Sad? If it weren't for his mom forcing him to come, he wouldn't have just walked away like that. Daniel had never been so ungracious before.

"Hey..." Patrick shouted, seeing her son looking distracted. "Are you even listening to me? After all I've done to raise you..."

"Alright, alright, Mom. I'm all yours today. I'll do whatever you say, okay?" Daniel hugged her.

"That's more like it..." Patrick leaned against her tall, handsome son. Having such a good-looking son felt great. If only he listened to her a bit more, she'd be even happier.

"Daniel!" Felicity rushed over as soon as she saw Daniel.

"Jasmine has grown up..." Daniel smiled at Felicity. Time was indeed a wonderful thing. In just a few years, the little girl had grown into a graceful young lady.

Julian, the chairman of the Scott Group, was nearly seventy and had no sons, only a daughter, Felicity's mother. Felicity's father had passed away when she was very young, and her mother never remarried.

The Scott and Harris families were old friends. Thomas and Daniel's grandfather were as close as brothers. When Daniel was born, Thomas made a promise with Daniel's grandfather: if they had grandsons, they would be brothers; if granddaughters, they would marry into each other's families.

Felicity and Oliver were the same age and often played together as children. Later, Daniel went abroad to study, and then Felicity did too, so they lost touch. Although they didn't know about their grandfathers' agreement, they always got along well, which pleased their grandfather.

Felicity wore a light pink dress, her face lightly made up, looking every bit the charming young woman. Daniel sat next to her, listening to her talk about her studies and life abroad, a faint smile on his face.

"Daniel, I didn't want to come back, but my professor wanted me to stay. It was too boring, and all my best friends had returned home. I didn't want to stay there alone..."

"So, Jasmine, what are your plans?" Daniel's long fingers caressed the cold wine glass as he took a small sip, his eyes narrowing as he looked ahead.

Ahead, right at the entrance, walked in two figures.

Lucas and Tsirvini entered side by side.

Lucas said something that made Tsirvini burst into a radiant smile. Daniel's narrowed eyes suddenly flashed with a sharp glint, and his hand tightened around the wine glass.

Just a moment ago, she had registered with him. Just a moment ago, she was under him, full of passion. And now, she was smiling so brightly at another man... A surge of fiery anger welled up inside him, threatening to consume him whole.
