You have a sharp tongue

 Writers POV:

"I don't think there is someone to ask, Yves never spoke to anyone, she was born a Stutterer. She never really said a word to anyone other than Xerxes."

"Then can I ask him?"

"I don't think that's a good idea Milady. The Prince hasn't spoken about the Princess since she passed on, this might wound him."

"It's okay I will find another way to sort it out."

"Can't you try to read it at least, Milady?"

"I could have but this is an advanced Thordak, we were only taught the basic ones. The advanced ones were only learnt by the high officials in the Witchers Clan, but it's okay I will find some other way."

"Should we continue searching for those other two books?" Rebekah asked

"Of course we should."

Herdis had just gotten out of the bathroom and was stunned to find Razar seated on the bed. She stood there staring at the man in the bed, who didn't seem to have noticed her presence.

She cleared her throat loudly to alert him of her presence but he remained unshaken.

She walked up to the bed and stared at him intensely.

'He looks different when he is asleep.' Herdis thought.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asked, with his eyes wide open.

"I,..."

Before she could explain further he had flipped her over, resulting in her laying on the bed with her back while he pressed her hands down firmly with his hands.

"What were you trying to do?" He questioned.

She couldn't control her emotions anymore.

She wanted to scream as loud as she could, but she couldn't, she had to hold it in.

Herdis took a deep breath then replied. "You slept in a bad position which would have sprained your neck, I was trying to get you adjusted."

"Don't try to get too close to me, know your boundaries."

"Let's get one thing straight. I wish more than anything that you would never step an inch closer to me. I wish not to breathe the same air you breathe, but unfortunately fate has tied me to you. So get down from your high horse not every girl fancies you."

"You have a sharp tongue, I must commend."

"Let go of my hands at this moment."

"No one commands me, Herdisan."

"Well I have my rights as a human. I don't deserve to be treated like a thief."

"And you have your duties as a wife."

"Not to a man who almost killed me."

'Why is he silent, did my words wound him'

"I am sorry I didn't mean to." Herdis started apologizing.

"I apologize for my misbehavior the other night, it was unruly of me." Razar apologized.

"It's alright." Herdis replied.

"We need to talk."

"Let go of me first."

"Fine."

Herdis sat very far away from him the moment he let go of her hand.

"Are you that scared of me?" He asked.

'Of course I am scared of you, who isn't.'

Herdis wanted to say that so badly but she decided to ignore his queries.

'But why does he look sad or am I overthinking?'

"What do we have to talk about?" Herdis inquired.

"A letter came in for you today."

'A letter, that means Ceres must have found a way to get me out of this hell, but what if…..'

"Di,...did you read the letter?"

"Yes I did."

"Why would you do that? The letter was for me."

"Evey letter goes through me, let that stick in your head."

'Oh my Goodness, this isn't good'

"What did the letter say exactly?"

He tossed the letter on the bed, "See it for yourself."

"Huh."

'One moment he looks wounded then suddenly he becomes rude.'

"I believe you have working ears, I will be in the bathroom."

And just like that he left, she thought that he might be upset because he read the contents upset, that means he actually read the letter.

'Oh no.' I tore the envelope open and started reading the letter,

DEAR HERDIS,

How have you fared? A Priestess was consulted recently and it was disclosed that on or between the next five days, Creekside may sprout flowers, we implore that you alongside the Crown Prince be available on that day.

As the exact day wasn't disclosed, we advise that you both start your journey to the Witchers Cavern tonight, so no day may be missed.

We assure that all necessities and care will be provided for, until your departure from the Witchers Cavern.

 Yours truly,

 King Negah and

 Queen Trinah of the

 Witchers Clan.

"This cannot be all, there has to be some kind of hidden message, I can't stay here. Why has Ceres not come for me yet? Has he abandoned me?" She questioned herself. "No, no, what are you thinking? Herdis, you need to stop panicking, Ceres will never wound you so deeply, this isn't the time to sulk, this is the time to think, he obviously can't send a letter due to the risks involved, he might be waiting for an opportunity to pass an information to me in person. It's too late to start a journey, so I will have to leave at the sound of the First Crow tomorrow." She reassures herself.

Herdis couldn't sleep all through the night. She was too excited to sleep, she was going to see Ceres after all these months, Although she wasn't able to convince Razar to let her travel alone or to start the journey at the sound of the First Crow. She was still so happy that she could get a chance to speak with Ceres. She had to force herself to sleep, to avoid feeling weak later in the day.

Besides, she also had to share a bed with Razar, maybe that also contributed to her lack of sleep. And just like their first night, she didn't see him when she woke up. The space beside her was cold signifying that Razar had been gone for a while now. To God Knows where.
