Dining Table Setting.

Writer's POV:

The main table consists of twelve chairs, the chair at the head is for the King, while the chair at the tail is for the Queen. The five chairs by the King's right are the permanent seats for Ohasis, Crimson, Evergreen, Allure and Morgan.

The first two seats are at the King's left is also a permanent seat for Keyleth and Penny, but it is kept at the left side because they got the chairs by favoritism not by achievement. Then the last three chairs at the left side are temporary seats, and it's rotational, it only houses those that have achieved something good recently.

'It actually took me two months to learn this. That was the moment I knew that my Manta wasn't the only thing that was dormant, even my brain was also dormant.' Herdis mocked herself.

After Herdis was done dressing up she made my way to the dining hall. She was left stupefied when she saw Razar sitting on the main table at the King's right side. He was seated beside the King, a chair only Prince Ohasis has ever occupied. On seeing this she bowed her head in respect and turned to look for an unoccupied table to seat at, when she was called out by Razar,

"Where are you going, Damsel?"

"Umm, I am going to find a table."

"Come and sit beside me."

"What?"

"I believe you have working ears."

"But that's for Evergre,.."

King Negah cut her words short. "What are you saying, Herdis, you can't possibly sit at a different table when your husband is seated right here, that's uncultured. Come and take a seat."

Herdis turned round and saw literally everyone glaring at me excluding Penelope, she gave Herdis a thumbs up.

'She has such a pure soul.'

That little gesture boosted her confidence. Herdis sat down beside Razar and due to that, Keyleth was made to sit at a different table. Herdis had no idea why that happened when there was literally one empty chair on the main table.

Halfway through the meal, a maid ran into the dining hall, screaming. "Creekside has bloomed, it has sprouted flowers."

Everyone ran out of the hall immediately the news was casted, this caused a mild stampede but no one was willing to slow down.

Whenever Creekside blooms it doesn't last long; its newly sprouted flowers usually fall off after two hours.

So they barely had up to an hour to prepare everything for the ritual.

The moment everyone had been waiting for had finally arrived, the nineteen Princesses of the Witchers Clan were seated round the tree and chairs were placed for every other member of the family including Razar. Even the onlookers brought their respective chairs.

Herdis was quite hesitant to partake but she had to for the sake of participation. She never had any wish to become the next Queen Creek, she has only ever had one wish, that is to have a normal life with Ceres.

She has always dreamt of living in a cottage with him in a remote village, where he will be the local doctor, and she his nurse. Together they will treat the poor for free and receive food and clothes as gifts. She just wants a contented life, nothing too loud or extravagant, just something simple.

Herdis used to have thoughts that becoming Queen Creek would make it easier for her to marry Ceres, as she will be allowed to marry any man of my choice, and she trusted that he will not be polygamous in nature.

But she never imagined that she would be able to handle the workload, pressure and distance. King Negah and Queen Trinah barely have time to speak to each other or communicate about personal issues. Herdis would never want such a life for her and Ceres.

'Besides, doubt creekside will be dumb enough to pick someone like me. I really need to speak to Ceres.'

When every branch on Creekside sprouted leaves and flowers, the princesses started Chanting the hymn for the Creekside spirit. This chant was quite hard to learn. Herdis spent five months learning this chant, although Penelope spent just a few weeks.

According to some ancient books, every thing on earth has a spirit, every emotion and element possesses a spirit. The first generation Witchers were just a few Witches and Wizards, who were originally humans that possessed a rare and special gift.

They could understand the language of some of these spirits, and could control them to do their bidding. But there was a special one amongst them, she could understand all spirits, she was the Mother of the Witchers. She created Manta, Creekside, Black Magic and Blood Magic (the darkest magic ever heard of). She saved the Witchers from slavery and made them a Clan.

Rumors say she could even read the memories of the blank book.

It seemed as though Creekside was upset, the princesses had already recited the Chants repeatedly for almost an hour but nothing had changed. Suddenly a mighty wind blew, the atmosphere was covered in dust. No one could see anything, because of the sand storm. Everyone present had to shield their eyes with their hands to protect it from the harsh burns of the dust.

Herdis could hear people's screams but she couldn't decipher who it came from due to the dust, after a few minutes the wind went still and the dust disappeared. Herdis turned to see that all except one chair had flown to a corner and almost everyone ran to seek shelter, only Razar remained seated and unmoved by the wild wind. He just sat there majestically with his legs crossed, his eyes tightly shut and his hands crossed over his torso.

She could hear people's loud whispers, at first she thought they were rambling about Razar but when she traced their line of sight, she found out it was placed on Creekside. It had lost its newly sprouted leaves and flowers without Choosing the next Queen Creek.
