No Queen Creek

Writer's POV:

'What's going on?' Herdis asked herself.

When the people's voices became louder than a whisper, it aggravated Queen Trinah's anger and she requested that anyone who wasn't a part of the royal household left the vicinity immediately.

Although that chased them away it didn't silence them.

Someone even said that Creekside couldn't find a worthy Queen amongst the nineteen Princesses, that's why it withered.

'Could it be true, was there no one worthy enough to be the next Queen Creek amongst us? I won't say anything to defend myself but what about Evergreen, Allure, Gilda, Kiona, Jelilah and River. They were no doubt the best candidates for the Queen Creek position. How could Creekside not find either of them worthy?' Herdis questioned herself further.

Queen Trinah ordered everyone to return to their respective rooms until further notice, and with that being said she walked away. Herdis just sat there in confusion as everyone else left one after the other with their heads hung low in shame. She hated the fact that she couldn't pinpoint where things went so wrong.

'The Chanting was perfect, so what happened exactly? Something is going on and I have a feeling the problem is from Creekside, not either of us Princesses.' Herdis said to herself.

Herdis heard Razar call out for her, she turned to look at him and he was still seated on his chair.

"Let's go." He said, while making his way towards her.

"I just don't get it, what went wrong?"

"Don't defile the Queen's words, let's discuss this when we get to the room."

He walked up to her and held out his hands, implying that she held onto him for support.

"Thank you." Herdis said as she grabbed a hold of his hands, then he pulled her up.

INSIDE THE ROOM:

'I don't know how long I stood at the balcony in deep thought but all I could think of at that moment was the strange hum I heard earlier whilst the wind blew violently.' Herdis said to herself, in deep thoughts.

"Strange." Herdis commented loudly.

"What's strange." Razar questioned from the balcony's door.

"Huh, did I say that out loud?"

"Yes you did, so what's strange?"

"Did you hear someone humming earlier?"

"When exactly?"

"When the wind blew harder and the dust blocked our view."

"I didn't hear anything."

"I thought werewolves had great hearing."

"Well we do, that's why I am so certain that no one hummed. Maybe you mistook the whirling sounds of the wind, to be the sound of someone humming. You should rest, it's getting late."

"I am sure of what I heard."

"Still, there is nothing strange about anyone humming."

"There is nothing wrong with anyone humming, but it's weird that someone could find the time to hum at such a time. I am pretty sure those sounds came from Creekside and what made things strange was the fact that the song that was being hummed felt familiar."

"And you are sure you haven't heard it somewhere before."

"No I haven't, at first I thought it was a song I heard when I used to work at the theater. But now that I think about it, the song felt like it was calling out for someone, I am sure I heard that voice hum the name Cassandra, at some point. Makes me wonder who Cassandra is to the Creekside Spirit."

"I have heard that name somewhere before."

"It is a common name." Herdis commented.

"It is, but coming from Cleopatra and now Creekside. I don't think this particular Cassandra in question is just a common person." Razar said, as he came to stand beside Herdis.

"What could possibly connect the Priestess to Creekside,. She is a human while Creekside belongs to the Witches, there is no link."

"Cleopatra was once a Witch, she was among the first generation Witchers. Until she was turned into a Lycan, by my Grandfather centuries ago."

'Was that why she looked familiar? Have I seen her portrait around here before?'

According to Razar the gifted humans, now referred to as the First Generation Witchers, were used as slaves by all the clans, in other to set themselves free from the shackles of slavery, one of them made a deal with Regald who was the King of the Werewolf Clan at that time. All that was recorded was that a deal was made between The King and a Witch, she agreed to make him powerful in return he will declare the Witchers a Clan.

The Witch made it possible for the werewolf clan to win the war between clans and she made them the rulers of Europe. After the war was won and she successfully sent three strong Clans into another realm, King Regald declared them a Clan.

But she made a mistake, she fell for the King, and decided to sell the Witchers Clan to him in order to please him. For this reason she was ousted from the Clan by the First Queen Creek, Queen Kitara. Who saved the Witchers from eternal slavery, created the Manta and Creekside, she was also the creator of Thordak, the language of spirits.

'But nothing Razar told me mentioned anything about Cassandra, I need to find out who she is or was.'

Herdis turned to look at the sleeping Razar, when she confirmed that he was asleep. She got out of bed, put on a hooded robe and left the room.

She searched the hallway with her eyes, but saw no one so she grabbed a torch that was hung up on the wall and made her way to Creekside.

When she got there she saw no one in sight, she stood not too far from Creekside then said.

"I know you can hear me, I don't know why but I feel like you were trying to say something to me earlier.'

She waited for a response but received none, so she questioned once again.

"Do you know Cassandra? I feel like I have heard your song about her before, I would like to know more about her."

Still there was no response.
