Chapter 32: The Path of Vengeance

Healing and Resolve

Alex focused on healing his wounds, drawing on the magic that had sustained him in his darkest moments. The process was slow and painful, but he could feel the gashes in his flesh closing, and the intense pain in his missing eye lessening to a dull throb. He gritted his teeth, knowing that once he saved his friends, he might never be the same again.

He understood that to survive, he couldn't afford to be the nice guy anymore. He had to kill every last one of his captors.

With renewed determination, Alex stood up, still feeling the lingering pain of his ordeal. He gathered his strength, kicked open the door, and dashed down the hallway of the facility.

Rearming

As he ran, Alex passed a room where his gear had been stored. He entered quickly, grabbing his katana and other belongings. After suiting up, he felt a sense of power and control returning to him.

Armed and ready, he moved through the facility like a whirlwind, his mind set on one goal: to kill every one of his enemies.

A Path of Blood

The first group of soldiers he encountered fired at him, but he moved with lightning speed, slicing through them with his katana. Blood sprayed across the walls, and one of the soldiers screamed, "Please, no! Don't kill me! Just tell me, who are you really?"

But Alex didn't care. He silenced the man with a swift slash, his resolve unshaken. As he moved to the next room, he spotted something on the ground that caught his eye: a Glock 19, black edition.

A New Weapon

Alex picked up the gun, feeling a connection to his old world. Instead of loading it with real bullets, he infused it with magic, creating a weapon that combined the lethality of a firearm with the power of his magic.

With his new weapon, Alex continued his rampage, killing and slicing his way through the facility. He moved like a force of nature, unstoppable and merciless.

Searching for Friends

Eventually, he found a room he believed his friends might be in, but it was empty. He surmised that they must have escaped when the alarm went off.

Determined to finish what he started, Alex kept moving, seeking out the president.

The Final Confrontation

At last, he found her. President Crawford stood in a control room, looking startled but defiant. "There you are," she said.

Without hesitation, Alex hurled his katana, the blade piercing her stomach. "This is where you die," he said coldly.

She fell to the ground, blood pouring from the wound. "You know, Alex," she spat out, her voice weak but defiant. "Even if you kill me, the special forces from our world have been tracking us this whole time. If you kill me, they will come here and find you and your family. They will never stop looking for the artifact."

Alex looked at her, his eyes filled with steely resolve. "Then if I see them, I will kill them just like you," he replied, his voice devoid of emotion.

He raised the Glock 19 and shot her in the head, ending her life instantly.

A Glimpse of Freedom

With the president dead, Alex looked down the hall and saw the exit door. The sight filled him with a sense of relief and hope. Freedom was just a few steps away.
