Chapter 33: The Escape

**A Time to Act**

As the alarm blared throughout the facility, Thrain, Lila, and Yuki knew it was time to escape. They understood that this was Alex's doing, and their only chance to break free was now.

"Alright, my friends," Thrain said, his voice steady despite the urgency in his eyes. "Let's get out of here."

Using his magic, Thrain conjured a powerful gust of wind that tore the door off its hinges. The noise was deafening, but the way was clear.

"Okay, my dear friends, let's go," Thrain urged.

**A Stealthy Escape**

Thrain was deeply worried about his friends' safety. Determined to avoid confrontation, he led them through the facility, moving with the utmost caution. They crept past guards and soldiers, using shadows and cover to remain undetected.

The group made their way to the control room, where they overheard President Crawford speaking urgently into a communication device. "Is this the special forces? Listen, I might die here, so you need to get here and find the artifact of immortality. Signing off."

Thrain's heart raced. The mention of special forces hinted at something much larger at play, something that involved Alex's world.

**Sneaking Past the Enemy**

Thrain motioned for Lila and Yuki to keep moving. They needed to escape before more soldiers arrived. They navigated the maze-like corridors of the facility, avoiding detection at every turn.

Finally, they reached the exit and slipped outside. The cold night air was a stark contrast to the oppressive atmosphere of the facility.

Once outside, Lila turned to Thrain. "What do you think they were talking about? Special forces?"

Thrain's brow furrowed in thought. "They might be the same people from Alex's world. I think there's something much bigger at play here, but I don't know what it is yet."

**A Desperate Plea**

Yuki, who had been trailing behind, suddenly cried out, "We need to go back and get Alex! Please!"

Thrain shook his head, his eyes filled with determination. "He will get out on his own terms. We need to trust him."

Reluctantly, Yuki nodded, though her heart ached with worry for Alex. They moved away from the bunker facility and headed towards the forest.

**Back to the Camp**

The familiar surroundings of the forest provided a sense of relief. They made their way to the camp they had set up near the lake. The remnants of their fire were cold and burnt out, a stark reminder of the peace they had known just hours before.

Thrain was about to speak when a loud bang echoed through the forest, making them all jump. The sound was unmistakable—an explosion.
