As the council members went on their way, some of them felt an inexplicable fear. One, in particular, was especially scared, sensing an energy that her instincts told her was an alpha, compelling her to submit. She resisted, her shinobi training fighting against her instincts. Kiba had already regained consciousness thanks to Tsunade's help, and it seemed they would have to head back as well. Iruka had announced the end of the competition, but many still couldn't understand how the supposed underdog had won. They wondered what would happen now, given that Meenma and Naruko had lost the title of heir to the Uzumaki and Namikaze clans respectively.
Naruto, meanwhile, was going his merry way. His future plans would need to be accelerated a bit. He hadn't planned for the whole title thing; he didn't even care about it. But why not drag Minato and Kushina's names through the mud? He had won the title in a fair competition, and Minato and Kushina couldn't take it away from him unless Meenma and Naruko won it back in another fair competition. Naruto anticipated that they would intensify their training, perhaps even with Minato teaching them the Rasengan as soon as possible. In the upcoming Chunin Exams, they would likely challenge him again. He smirked, already planning his next moves. His true plans and intentions for the shinobi world and Konoha would be set in motion by then. His eyes glowed purple as a dark smirk formed on his face.
Meanwhile, Shisui and Itachi tried to analyze the unusual energy surrounding Naruto, but even with their Sharingan, they couldn't understand it. Naruto vanished from their sight, and the two shinobi exchanged glances and nodded, moving quickly to try and find him again.
In the hospital, Tsunade had just come out of Meenma and Naruko's room. Minato and Kushina looked worried, and Tsunade spoke up. "They'll be alright. Don't worry."
Both let out a sigh of relief, especially Jiraiya. "Are you sure, Tsunade? Nothing is wrong with them?"
Tsunade replied, "Nothing's wrong with Meenma, but as for Naruko..." She looked at Minato and Kushina with a blank expression, capturing their attention.
Kushina asked anxiously, "What happened to Naruko, Tsunade? Please tell me everything."
Tsunade hesitated. "I don't know how to tell you this, Kushina, but something is definitely wrong with her. I've noticed something unusual with her back. It seems that for some reason, she will never be able to use her chakra chains again."
Minato and Kushina were shocked. Minato asked, "What are you talking about, Tsunade? How is that possible?"
"It's a Kekkei Genkai, it simply cannot be!" Minato exclaimed, disbelief evident in his voice.
Tsunade sighed. "I've examined the core of her back where the chakra chains are generated. Somehow, those points are damaged beyond repair. She won't be able to manifest her chains again. Even with my expertise, I can't heal the damage. I'm sorry, Kushina, but Naruko will never be able to use her Kekkei Genkai again."
Minato and Kushina were shocked. Tears welled up in Kushina's eyes, knowing how much her daughter loved her chakra chains. Minato tried to comfort her while Jiraiya clenched his fists and slammed them against the wall.
"Minato, how did Naruto become so powerful? Are you secretly training him?" Jiraiya demanded.
Minato shook his head. "I don't know, Jiraiya. No, I haven't been training him. You know there's been a great distance between him and the family; we haven't even talked in years."
Silence filled the room until Tsunade spoke up. "Minato, the level of skill he showed was brutal, but undeniably powerful. He's a prodigy, maybe even greater than you, and he has the Uzumaki chakra chains. His power is something to be admired, but his actions towards his siblings were extreme."
Minato nodded reluctantly. The guilt he felt whenever he thought about Naruto was overwhelming. Tsunade continued, "Still, that doesn't justify what he did to his own siblings."
Jiraiya added, "You're right, Minato. We need to talk to Naruto and make it clear that the whole fight was meaningless. The clan titles don't change anything. The council might try to enforce the results, especially with the daughter of the Fire Daimyo witnessing it."
"I don't care about that," Jiraiya insisted. "Minato, you need to talk to Naruto. He needs to understand his position, that he is beneath Meenma and Naruko. They are the children of destiny, and he needs to know that."
Minato thought for a moment and then nodded. "Don't worry, Sensei. I'll talk to Naruto."
Kushina, anger burning in her eyes, added, "I'll talk to him too." She clenched her fist tightly, her knuckles turning white.
Minato pondered the trouble that lay ahead while, on the other hand, Naruto could be seen meditating atop the largest tree in the forest. The aura of death and destruction around him was so intense that it scared away all the animals. Naruto closed his eyes, entering a deep meditation.
Within his mind, he saw the destroyed form of the entire Elemental Nations. As he walked, buildings crumbled, and stars fell from the sky, one after another. Ignoring the chaos, he made his way to the ruins of the Hokage Monument. Multiple chains emerged from the faces of the Hokages, forming a gigantic entity at the center. Naruto flew into the sky, his eyes meeting the colossal beast's gaze.
