Arden's brows twitched as he stared at the system screen that currently displayed the items available in the shop.
"And here I was thinking I could get something good... tch," Arden clicked his tongue in annoyance.
He understood the system's explanation for the high prices, but it was still frustrating, especially after he had gotten his hopes up.
Once again, he glanced at the system screen, looking at the items displayed.
[Item: Long Sword]
[Rank: Rank 3]
[Skills: Flame Burst, Fire Slash]
[Amount: 250 Revenge Points]
*****
[Item: Chest Plate]
[Rank: Rank 3]
[Skills: Fortitude, Great Push]
[Amount: 300 Revenge Points]
There were other weapons, chest plates, and even potions, but they were expensive. One thing Arden noticed was that in the corner, the name of the beast used to make the weapon was written, making him wonder where the system got all these items from. But of course, the system was just too mysterious.
"You never told me that they would be this expensive. How the hell am I even gonna buy a single sword from here?" Arden gritted his teeth.
[Host, calm down. They are expensive but worth purchasing. They even have skills.]
"Tch... that's not what I'm talking about. I have just 25 Revenge Points. I'm not even close to buying a Rank 2 weapon from this shop," he said.
[Hmmm, and these are just some of the normal weapons in the shop. I've not shown you the system exclusive items.]
"Huh? The system has exclusive items?"
[Yes, but they're... too expensive, even more expensive than these weapons.]
Arden's shoulders slumped as he read those words. Just when he was having a beacon of hope, it all came crashing down again.
[But they're more powerful than any other item... There's a reason why they are system exclusive items.]
"I see... Well, I'll start thinking about that once I have a lot of Revenge Points," Arden said.
But for now, he couldn't purchase anything from the system shop, except...
"Guess I'll buy this. It'll be helpful in a lot of ways," he muttered as he stared at the corner of the system screen that displayed a cloak and a mask.
After much searching, he found out that these two items were the only things he could buy with his current amount of Revenge Points.
The cloak was black, and it had a hood that could perfectly cover his head and even a part of his face. Though, the cloak also had some red lines in some parts, especially the chest area, but it was minimal.
"10 Revenge Points, huh?" Arden muttered as he moved on to the mask.
Just like the cloak, the mask was black. The only difference was that it didn't have red lines like the cloak.
The mask could cover the lower part of his face, leaving only his eyes.
They looked pretty ordinary, but they still had some effects.
Arden focused his gaze on the cloak and the mask. Instantly, the words on the system screen changed.
[Enchanted Cloak: A normal black cloak that the host can wear. It sure looks ordinary, but it has a small yet useful buff.]
[Effects: +5 Ability Energy, +5 Combat Power]
[Durability: Infinite]
[Note: This cloak is Upgradeable]
"Now what do we have here?" Arden muttered as he looked at the description of the cloak.
Like the system mentioned, it certainly wasn't ordinary, and he couldn't help but notice something.
"Enchanted...?" Arden muttered as he squinted his eyes.
"And how can it increase Ability Energy? Isn't it made from a beast's Mana Core?"
[Host, the cloak, and the mask are system exclusive items, so they're completely different from normal items made from Mana Core.]
"I see... no wonder that word sounded foreign to me."
"These system exclusive items... what are they made from?" That was something Arden had been curious about. Since the weapons and armors he knew were made from the Mana Core of Beasts, then what would the system exclusive items be made from?
[I don't really know. All I know is that the Master made them herself.]
"I see..." Arden couldn't deny the fact that the cloak and the mask were awesome. They were cheap, but gave good buffs.
With the cloak, his Ability Energy would be increased by five points, and his Combat Power would also be increased by five points.
'I'll have to ask about my Combat Power. If it can tell that my Combat Power will be increased by five points with the cloak, then it'll surely know my total amount of Combat Power, though I doubt it'll be much with this frail body,' Arden thought.
Instantly, he focused on the mask to see its details, and immediately, the details appeared on the system screen.
[Enchanted Mask: A black colored mask that covers the lower part of the face. It perfectly fits the wearer, and gives a small yet useful buff.]
[Effects: +5 Combat Power, +5 Ability Energy, Heightens the senses by a small margin]
[Note: This mask is Upgradeable]
"Hmm, the mask is even better than the cloak," he muttered as he placed his finger on his chin.
"It equally increases my Ability Energy and my Combat Power by five points, but it also heightens my senses a little."
And another notable fact was that it was also Upgradeable, meaning both the mask and the cloak could have more effects and give more buffs.
"The 25 Revenge Points were certainly not useless," Arden said, with a grin on his face.
"System, I'll buy the cloak and the mask," he said.
[Understood]
There was a small section on the screen that showed him his amount of Revenge Points.
[Revenge Points: 25]
Instantly, the system screen flashed, and when he looked at it again...
[Revenge Points: 0]
"It's been deducted..."
[The items have been transferred to your inventory.]
Instantly, Arden thought about the mask and the cloak, and they instantly appeared in his hand.
The mask and the cloak were just the way he saw them on the screen.
"Nice..." Arden said as he ran his fingers along the somewhat rough surface of the mask.
Suddenly, the expression on his face changed as he stared outside through the window.
"With these... I can hunt some Beasts... to grow stronger..."
