The receptionist's voice rang in his ear. "Arden Nightshade, Second Step Rank 1 Mage."
Arden nodded his head as he opened his eyes, and removed his hand from the orb.
Instantly, the orb returned back to it's original transparent state.
"Okay," Arden said, withdrawing his hand.
"Yes, that's all. You have successfully been registered. Here is your Adventurer's Card," she said, handing him a small, sturdy card. "With this, you can take quests and sell Beast Cores and other items at the guild."
The card was brown-colored and it was sturdy. Arden's name and his Rank were written on the card.
"You can also come back here to upgrade your card if you've Ranked Up. It's very important, because if you forget, it might cause some complications for you," the receptionist said.
Arden took the card and nodded. "I also want to sell some Beast Cores."
"Of course," the receptionist replied. "Please follow me to the appraisal area."
Arden followed her to a room that was just behind the counter. Immediately she opened the door, the full view of the room was revealed.
The room was quite spacious, and filled with....
"Cores..... they're much," Arden couldn't help but mutter immediately he saw the shelves that were filled with Beast Cores.
There was also a chair and a table in the room. Though, the chair was currently occupied by a man who looked to be in his sixties. He had white hair, and some wrinkles were on his face, but even with that, he still looks sturdy and muscular, and radiated an aura of strength.
"Ahh, welcome to my humble abode," the man said as he got up from the chair, and walked towards Arden.
"Greg," the receptionist called the man by his name, "he wants to sell some Beast Cores. He's new here, so treat him well." The receptionist faked a smile as she stared at the man called Greg.
"Oh, you're still like this, huh? You'll never change. I eve....."
As Greg and the receptionist were talking, Arden took this as a chance to execute his plan.
He walked closer to one of the shelves at the end of the room, and instantly squated.
Immediately, he thought about the Beast Cores, and they left his inventory. He placed them carefully on the floor before looking back.
Greg and the receptionist were still talking.....well... it was actually more like a quarrel.
Since Arden was done, he didn't want to stay here any longer, so he spoke out.
"Mr Greg, these are the Beast Cores," Arden said.
Greg instantly looked at the floor and noticed the Beast Cores.
"Oh, okay," Greg muttered as he walked towards Arden.
'Hmm, he wasn't holding those Beast Cores when he entered, so he probably has a "Space Pouch" with him,' Greg thought.
Greg bent down, and picked up one of the Beast Cores, inspecting it as he squinted his eyes. "First Step Rank 1 Beast Cores, huh? These are worth a good amount." He started picking up the rest of the Cores. "It'll be 5 bronze coins for each of the Cores."
'Just like I thought....'
"Okay," Arden replied shortly as he folded his arms.
Greg picked all the Beast Cores and placed them among the other Cores that were in the shelves
He picked up a pouch that was on the table, and dipped his hand inside, bringing out a single silver coin.
"The Beast Core is 5 bronze coins, so 20 of them are 100 bronze coins," Greg said.
Arden nodded his head in understanding. 100 bronze coins were equivalent to 1 silver coin, so he was correct.
Arden put the coin in his pocket and thanked him before leaving the room, feeling accomplished. The Adventurer's Card would enable him to do many things, and the coins he would get would come in handy, after all, anything could happen at anytime.
Yes, he even had gold coins, but he wasn't depending on that. It was always better to be safe than sorry.
As he walked out of the room, he met the receptionist who was waiting for him, and he asked her to show him to the "butcher" where he would be able to sell the bodies of the wolves.
He used the same strategy he used, by taking advantage of the butcher's distraction, and dropping the bodies of the wolves.
He sold the bodies of the wolves for 70 bronze coins. It wasn't much, but it was still something.
Few minutes later, Arden was ready to leave the Adventurer's Guild since he had finished his business here.
"Have a good day," the receptionist said, with a smile on her face.
"Hmm, yes," Arden said, though he couldn't help but doubt her smile. After all, she seemed to have a quarrel with all the workers in the Guild.
As he left the Guild and walked through the city, he couldn't help but think about the path he had chosen.
"I have to pick next target..."
As he was walking, he also thought about Kaylee, but quickly discarded that thought.
"There are guards all over the place...." Arden noticed. "It seems Ryker's death caused more impact than expected."
He didn't even hear anyone talking about Ryker, unlike when he was leaving the city.
Well, they were guards everywhere, so they didn't even dare to talk about it.
Suddenly, as Arden was getting closer to the inn, the system screen appeared in front of him.
