52. Onix

With his sight blocked, even if Geodude heard Brock's voice, he didn't have time to react.

Eevee fell from the sky quickly, its tail instantly wrapped in a metallic luster, emitting a silver light, and struck the top of Geodude's head.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Iron Tail hit Geodude hard on the head, driving Geodude from the air and slamming it into the ground. The airflow spread, and smoke filled the entire arena.

Brock subconsciously blocked the airflow with his hands, and Ash reached out and pinched the brim of his hat. The smoke covered Geodude and Eevee, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.

Misty, sitting on the side, clenched her hands on her knees and looked nervously at the field.

The dense smoke gradually dissipated, revealing Eevee and Geodude. A deep pit full of cracks appeared on the rock field.

Geodude was embedded in the pit, its eyes turned into swirls, while Eevee stood in front, with some dust on its fur but otherwise unharmed.

"It's great!" Misty stood up excitedly from the stands.

Geodude had already lost the ability to fight, but the Pewter Gym had no referees. Brock, supporting his whole family, couldn't afford to hire anyone.

"Why... how? Big brother's Geodude actually lost." Brock's younger siblings were all surprised.

"It's not over yet! Big brother's Onix will never lose." Some of them believed that Ash defeating Geodude didn't mean he could beat Onix.

"It seems I underestimated you. You're different from a typical Rookie Trainer," Brock said solemnly, looking at Ash.

"Really? Then you'd better be serious next time. I don't want you to lose because you were too careless." Ash smiled, adjusting his hat brim and raising his head.

"You won't be disappointed. Come back, Geodude!" Brock responded, taking out the Poké Ball and recalling Geodude.

"Thank you, Geodude!" Brock said to the Poké Ball.

Then he put Geodude's Poké Ball away and took out a new one, his expression more serious, and threw it.

"Go! Onix!"

Boom!

Moo!

The Poké Ball made a bang, accompanied by a growl. A huge figure appeared before everyone, made up of massive gray rocks.

From head to tail, the rocks were arranged from large to small, with a rock horn growing on its head.

The size of Onix was quite amazing. Normally, an adult Onix is more than 8 meters long. Brock's Onix seemed to be still growing, at about 6-7 meters.

"vooy!"

Eevee looked at Onix, who was dozens of times bigger than itself, not timid and still full of fighting spirit, ready to continue fighting. Ash looked at Onix in front of him and thought for a moment.

"Eevee, thank you for your hard work. Come back first!"

"voyi?"

Eevee paused slightly after hearing the command, turning to Ash with a look of doubt. It clearly still wanted to fight.

"Understood, let's rest first." Ash understood that his Eevee had a very competitive personality and wouldn't be happy about being replaced. But he didn't want a situation similar to Charizard in the future. Although he wanted to let Pokémon be free, he couldn't let them do whatever they wanted.

Seeing Ash's firm eyes, Eevee reluctantly followed his instructions. After Eevee complied, Ash took out its Poké Ball and recalled it.

"Pikachu, go!" Ash looked at Onix in front of him and called to Pikachu at his feet.

"Pikapi!"

After hearing the command, Pikachu nodded decisively. Having watched Eevee's fight, Pikachu couldn't wait any longer. This Pikachu wasn't scared to face Onix, unlike the early anime version.

Pikachu quickly ran into the field, and when Brock saw Ash sending out Pikachu, he frowned slightly.

"You want to use Pikachu against my Onix?"

Brock thought that after the previous fight, Ash shouldn't be the type to overlook type matchups. Sending an Electric-type against a Ground-type seemed unwise.

"That's right! What's the matter? Does your gym have a rule against using Pikachu?" Ash replied.

"No, but it's impossible for a trainer like you not to know that Electric-type moves are useless against Onix," Brock pointed out. Most trainers wouldn't remind their opponents so seriously, but Brock felt compelled to.

"That's true, but who said Pikachu can only use Electric-type moves?" Ash responded confidently.

Brock fell silent. While Pikachu was indeed an Electric-type Pokémon, it could learn moves from other types.

Onix, with both Rock and Ground attributes, could still cause significant damage to Pikachu.

"In that case, I won't hold back! Onix, use Bind!"

Brock launched an offensive directly. His Onix had a much stronger defense than Geodude and wasn't afraid of Pikachu's attacks.

Onix let out a roar, twisting its huge body and rushing toward Pikachu.

"Pikachu, dodge!" Ash commanded. Pikachu's speed far surpassed Onix's.

"Pika!" Pikachu moved immediately, jumping backward. Onix's huge body was cumbersome, and its Bind attack struck the ground, causing the whole field to shake. Pikachu landed nimbly, ready for the next move.
