"Go, Starmie!!"

Misty threw the Poké Ball, and Starmie burst out and landed in front of Oddish.

"Wow!"

Oddish glanced at Starmie, startled by its sudden appearance, then turned and ran. Seeing this, Misty wasn't about to let Oddish escape so easily.

"Block it, Starmie!"

Starmie leapt into the air, jumped over Oddish, and landed right in its path. Oddish froze, panic clear in its eyes.

"Starmie, use Water Gun!"

*Pshhh!*

Starmie shot a powerful stream of water from the gem at the center of its body, aimed directly at Oddish.

The Water Gun hit Oddish full force, sending it flying backward from the impact.

"Now's your chance, use Rapid Spin!" Misty shouted, seizing the opportunity. Starmie stopped the Water Gun and immediately spun toward Oddish, its body rotating at high speed.

Rapid Spin struck Oddish, sending it crashing to the ground, knocked out and unable to continue battling.

"Now!" Misty called, taking advantage of the moment. She threw a Poké Ball, aiming directly at the fainted Oddish.

Just as the ball was about to hit Oddish, a long, slender vine shot out from the nearby grass with lightning speed, a sharp sound cutting through the air.

*Snap!*

The vine struck Misty's Poké Ball and pulled it back with tremendous force, sending it flying toward Misty. Startled, she barely had time to react.

*Thwack!*

Ash, who had been sitting nearby, instinctively reached out and caught the Poké Ball mid-flight. Misty turned, surprised but relieved when she saw him.

"What's going on?!" she exclaimed, confused by the sudden turn of events. She whipped her head around and saw a figure charging out of the grass straight toward Starmie.

*Boom!*

Before Misty could give a command, the figure slammed into Starmie, sending it flying with a powerful impact.

"Ah! Starmie!" Misty gasped in shock as her Pokémon was thrown into the air. She rushed over and cradled Starmie in her arms.

"Are you okay? What just happened?" Misty looked at Starmie with concern, then turned her attention to the Pokémon that had appeared.

"Bulbasaur!" Ash exclaimed, standing up and joining Misty.

The Pokémon before them had a pale green body with dark green markings, resembling a small toad with large eyes and striking red pupils. Its most notable feature was the large bulb on its back—Bulbasaur.

In the past, some fans had jokingly called it a garlic monster, but Bulbasaur was actually a species that resembled a frog. To this day, scientists in the Pokémon world still debate whether it's more plant or animal.

It is the Kanto Region, and even though Bulbasaur is considered a starter Pokémon, often used by beginner Trainers, it is still quite rare. According to the game mechanics, aside from Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, few can match the base stats of the starter Pokémon.

"What's the deal with this Bulbasaur?" Misty asked, clearly confused.

Oddish, having regained consciousness, spotted Bulbasaur and seemed relieved.

"Oddish!" Bulbasaur called out, and Oddish quickly turned and disappeared into the grass. Bulbasaur glanced at the group with a wary expression but didn't stick around. It soon turned and left as well.

"Ah! It's gone!" Misty exclaimed, feeling a little disappointed as Oddish made its escape.

"There's not much we can do. We'll just have to look for it later," Ash said, trying to console her. He handed Misty her Poké Ball back, watching as she sighed. Ash then looked in the direction Bulbasaur had disappeared, falling silent. That Bulbasaur... Could it be the same one from the anime?

He didn't dwell on it too much. If fate allowed, their paths would cross again. If not, there was no helping it. After all, in this world, Ash had already caught plenty of other Pokémon. The appearance of Axew and Eevee had already shown that the reality here wasn't identical to the anime, so he didn't worry about it.

"Okay, Starmie, you've done a great job! Take a good rest!" Misty said, still slightly disappointed, but she couldn't dwell on it. Her Starmie had given its all in the battle. She returned Starmie to its Poké Ball, and the group prepared to move on.

The little delay didn't hold them up for too long. After finishing breakfast and packing their things, they continued their journey. Not long after, they emerged from the dense forest and found themselves facing a valley about 40 to 50 meters ahead. A wooden bridge stretched across the gap.

Brock, who was checking the map, seemed confused. "This route isn't on the map," he muttered. The Pokémon Academy they were heading to wasn't marked, and he was thrown off by the fog earlier. Now, they'd just have to navigate their way out.

As they approached the bridge, Ash suddenly stopped in his tracks, staring ahead.

"Ash, what's wrong?" Misty asked, noticing his hesitation.

"I feel like I'm forgetting something important..." Ash replied, his face scrunched up as he tried to remember.

"Well, you can think about it while we keep walking!" Misty said, giving him a curious glance before continuing ahead. Brock remained focused on the map as he started across the bridge.
