(Flashback)V was lying on the ground and some men were taking Y/N into a car. Then the other two men took V on the cliff and threw him in the sea in front of Y/N. After they all left with Y/N, an old man came and brought V on the shore. He took V to hospital. It was very difficult to save V still doctors anyhow saved him. But V went in coma. After three years he woke up and that old man became his guardian and he gave V a new identity as Roy. He took admission in Y/N's university. And his goal was to protect Y/N.
(Back to present)
In the dim morning light, Roy stood before the bathroom mirror, the memories of the past three years and the battle that led to his new identity weighing heavily on him. As he removed his mask, the scar from the fight was revealed....a permanent reminder of the violence he had endured. His hand instinctively went to his neck, where he noticed his locket was missing. Panic set in as he frantically searched the bathroom.
Just then, Y/N's voice called from the kitchen,
Y/N: Roy, breakfast is ready!
*Roy quickly donned his shirt and mask, trying to push aside his worry. He joined Y/N in the kitchen, taking a seat with his back to her. As he began eating, his eyes caught sight of the locket around Y/N's neck.
His heart skipped a beat. The locket was one he recognized.....the one he'd worn and lost during the chaos of yesterday's fire.
Y/N: Why do you always hide your face? *Y/N asked, breaking the silence.
Roy's voice was steady but tinged with sadness.
Roy: I have a scar on my face. It's very ugly. I don't want others to see me like this.
Y/N's fingers traced the locket as she looked at him.
Y/N: Is it that bad? *Roy, his eyes drawn to the locket around Y/N's neck, shifted the topic.
Roy: Who gave you these lockets?
Y/N replied, her voice softening.
Y/N: One locket was given to me by V, and the other I found and kept.
Roy leaned closer, examining the locket.
Roy: They look so similar....like a couple's locket set.
Y/N's eyes grew distant.
Y/N: This locket is the only thing V gave me. I don't even remember his voice, and his face is blurry in my mind. Sometimes, I feel like he's still alive.
Roy's expression softened with understanding.
Roy: Don't worry. When the time comes, you'll remember everything.
Y/N gave him a reassuring smile, though her eyes betrayed a hint of sadness. They finished their breakfast in quiet contemplation before heading out together to college.
As they walked side by side, Roy's mind remained preoccupied with the weight of his past and the role he had to play in Y/N's life. His promise to protect her had taken on new meaning with each step they took towards their uncertain future.
Four days later, Y/N didn't see Jungkook anywhere. Jungkook was skipping classes.
The library was quiet, the soft hum of the air conditioning mingling with the rustling of pages. Y/N sat at a study table, lost in thought when Jimin approached, his expression serious.
Jimin: I wanted to tell you something. *his voice lowering to a confidential tone.
Y/N: What is it? *Y/N looked up from her textbook, curiosity piqued.
Jimin didn't answer immediately. Instead, he reached into his bag and pulled out his phone, tapping it a few times before hitting play. The room filled with the sound of a recorded conversation.
The voice on the recording was unmistakable—Jungkook's. Y/N's eyes widened as she listened.
Jungkook's voice said, tinged with frustration.
Jungkook: I don't want to be involved in any of this. I only care about Y/N. I've made mistakes, but my feelings for her are real. She's the only one I want.....
The recording ended, and the library's quiet seemed to press in on Y/N. Jimin looked at her intently.
Jimin: I saw you hiding behind the racks. You didn't hear the rest. Jungkook has nothing to do with Rinda. He only loves you. And you know you can't break this engagement even if you want to run away from Jungkook. Your parents won't allow it.
Y/N sighed, a mix of frustration and resignation in her voice.
Y/N: I know I can't run. And I don't care even if he loves me. He still tried to take revenge on me. I can pretend to be happy with him for my parents.
Jimin's gaze softened.
Jimin: How long are you going to give him the silent treatment? Everybody deserves a second chance.
Y/N: But he broke my trust. *Y/N replied, her voice trembling slightly.
Jimin nodded sympathetically.
Jimin: I know. Everybody's trust is broken at least once in a relationship. But believe me, Jungkook has changed. He's not the bad playboy you think he is.
Y/N was silent for a moment, considering Jimin's words. The silence between them seemed to stretch, filled with the weight of her decision. Finally, she nodded slowly.
Y/N: Okay. I'll forgive him.
Jimin's face brightened, relieved.
Jimin: I'll tell Jungkook. I'll also book a restaurant for you two to have lunch and talk. It's time you both clear the air.
As Jimin left the library, Y/N felt a twinge of nervous anticipation. The road ahead was uncertain, but maybe, just maybe, it was time to confront Jungkook and see if there was a way forward for both of them.
The restaurant was cozy, lit by soft, ambient lighting that cast a warm glow over the elegant wooden tables and plush chairs. Jungkook sat at a table near the window, nervously fiddling with the menu. His eyes darted to the entrance every few seconds, anticipation and hope mingling in his chest. Jimin had told him that Y/N was willing to forgive him, but the uncertainty of their meeting still weighed heavily on him.
When Y/N finally walked in, Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. She looked as beautiful and composed as ever, but her expression was unreadable. He stood up quickly, a hopeful smile spreading across his face.
Jungkook: Y/N. *he said, his voice a mix of relief and apprehension* it's good to see you.
Y/N greeted him with a polite nod and took her seat.
Y/N: Hi, Jungkook. *she said softly, her voice even but devoid of warmth.
They settled into their chairs, and for a moment, the conversation was confined to pleasantries.
Jungkook: How have you been? *Jungkook asked, trying to break the tension.
Y/N: I've been okay. *her eyes not quite meeting his* And you?
Jungkook: I've been— *but his words trailed off as he gathered his courage* Have you forgiven me? *he asked his voice almost a whisper, vulnerable and hopeful.
A smirk slowly formed on Y/N's face. It was a small, subtle curve of her lips that held no warmth.
Y/N: No. *she said simply, her tone colder than Jungkook had anticipated* I haven't forgotten you.
The smirk was enough to shatter Jungkook's fragile hope. His face fell, the light in his eyes dimming as he absorbed her words. He tried to mask his pain, but it was clear in the tightness of his jaw and the way he looked away.
Jungkook: Y/N. *he began, his voice barely above a whisper* Why are you being so cruel? Please don't do this to me. I thought— *Y/N cut him off, her expression unyielding.
Y/N: It's not cruelty, Jungkook. It's reality. I'm here because I'm trying to be fair, but that doesn't mean everything is okay.
Jungkook's heart sank as he struggled to find the right words.
Jungkook: I—I thought we could talk, maybe find a way to—
Y/N: Find a way to what? *Y/N interrupted* You've hurt me, Jungkook. And even if I'm willing to give you a chance, it doesn't erase the past or the trust that was broken.
The words hit Jungkook like a physical blow. He looked down at his hands, the pain in his chest almost overwhelming.
Jungkook: I understand. *he said quietly, his voice choked with emotion* I just wanted a chance to make things right. I will try to gain your trust again.
Y/N's expression softened slightly, but her resolve remained firm.
Y/N: I'm here because I'm trying to understand, not because I'm ready to forget everything.
The rest of the lunch passed in strained silence, both of them grappling with their emotions. Jungkook's heart ached with every word Y/N spoke, the hope he had held onto was now replaced by a deep sense of regret and sorrow. Y/N, meanwhile, struggles with her own feelings, torn between the desire to move forward and the pain of past betrayals.
As the evening came to a close, both of them knew that this was just the beginning of a long and difficult journey. They had taken the first step, but neither of them was fully prepared to face.
After coming back from meeting Y/N. Jungkook was in his room, still thinking about Y/N. Her cruel words still echo in his head. He was hurt because Y/N didn't forgive him.
Jungkook stepped out of the bathroom, the steam from the hot shower still clinging to his damp skin. His head was pounding, a dull throb that had persisted even through the warm cascade of water. The confrontation with Y/N had left him emotionally drained and physically unwell. Despite the comforting embrace of the shower, the weight of her unforgiving words and the tension that accompanied them had settled heavily on his shoulders.
He shuffled toward his bed, his legs feeling unsteady. The room seemed to tilt slightly as he walked, a sensation that made him grip the edge of the dresser for support. His breath came in shallow, uneven gasps, and he could feel the fever building, a deep heat radiating through his body. His vision blurred around the edges, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
He reached the bed and sat down, trying to steady himself, but his strength waned. The room spun, and his thoughts grew muddled. He leaned forward, trying to catch his breath, but his hands trembled uncontrollably. With a sudden jolt, he felt his vision darken, and before he could react, his legs gave out beneath him.
Jungkook collapsed onto the floor, his body hitting the carpet with a soft thud. His breathing became erratic, a mixture of sharp gasps and long, slow exhales. The feverish heat seemed to engulf him, making his skin feel like it was on fire. He reached out a hand weakly, his fingers grazing the edge of the bed as if seeking some sort of lifeline.
The room was silent except for the muted sound of his labored breathing. Jungkook's mind was a haze of pain and confusion, the sting of Y/N's words mingling with the throbbing fever. The weight of his emotions and the physical toll were too much to bear, and he lay there, feeling utterly helpless and alone.
After deciding to surprise him with a visit, his parents arrived at the house just as Jungkook's strength was waning. The front door creaked open, and their voices, warm and cheerful, echoed through the hallway. They exchanged pleasant greetings, their excitement palpable as they anticipated seeing their son after some time.
As they made their way through the house, their conversation gradually faded into concerned murmurs. They noticed the door to Jungkook's room slightly ajar and stopped in their tracks when they saw the scene inside. The sight of their son lying motionless on the floor sent a jolt of alarm through them.
Jungkook was sprawled on the carpet, his face pale and his breathing shallow. The steam from the shower was still lingering in the room, mingling with the faint scent of antiseptic from the small first-aid kit on the dresser. His parents rushed to his side, their faces etched with worry.
His mother: Jungkook! *she cried out, her voice trembling as she knelt beside him. She gently shook his shoulder, trying to rouse him* Jungkook, can you hear me?
Seung Won began checking Jungkook's pulse, trying to assess the severity of the situation.
Jungkook's eyelids fluttered, and he managed to open them slightly, his vision unfocused. The concern in his parents' faces began to cut through the haze of his fever.
Jungkook: Mom... Dad. *he murmured weakly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Y/N arrived home, her mind still preoccupied with the earlier confrontation with Jungkook. Her mother was waiting in the living room, her gaze sharp and discerning as she looked up from her book.
Her mother: Did you go to see Jungkook today? *her voice carrying a note of concern.
Y/N hesitated for a moment, the weight of her emotions pressing down on her. She took a deep breath, masking her inner turmoil with a forced calm.
Y/N: Yeah, I was with him all day.
Her mother raised an eyebrow, a look of skepticism crossing her face.
Jin Kyung: Stop lying. Jungkook didn't go to university today. He's running a fever.
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. She had hoped to avoid this, but now she was cornered. She nodded, trying to appear nonchalant.
Y/N: Oh, right. I remember now. Well, I'm going to see him.
Her mother's gaze softened slightly but remained probing.
Jin Kyung: Did you two fight?
Y/N felt a pang of guilt but maintained her facade.
Y/N: Nooo. *she said, stretching the word out. Her voice was a little too light, betraying her discomfort.
Her mother's eyes narrowed with a mix of concern and understanding.
Jin Kyung: If you two had a fight, you should make up with each other nicely.
Y/N nodded, her resolve strengthening.
Y/N: I know, Mom. I'll go see him now.
As Y/N made her way out of the house, she felt the weight of her mother's words pressing down on her. The unresolved issues between her and Jungkook loomed large, and now she had to confront them in the midst of his illness.
She drove to Jungkook's house, the journey feeling longer than usual. Her thoughts were a swirl of conflicting emotions—guilt, regret, and a deep sense of unresolved pain. When she finally arrived, she parked and took a moment to steady herself before heading to the door.
Her knock was answered quickly, and Jungkook's mother greeted her with a warm but tired smile.
Y/N entered Jungkook's room quietly, her heart heavy with conflicted emotions. The room was dimly lit by the soft glow of the bedside lamp, and Jungkook lay motionless under the covers, his face flushed with fever. She approached his bedside, her mind racing with the weight of her actions.
With a deep breath, she gently removed the locket from around her neck. It was the same locket that she found from Roy. Carefully, she slipped the locket onto Jungkook's neck, adjusting it so it rested comfortably.
Just as she was finishing, Jungkook stirred, his eyes blinking open. He looked at her in confusion and fatigue.
Jungkook: What are you doing? *he asked weakly.
Y/N: Stay still. *replied coldly, her voice betraying none of the turmoil she felt inside. She fastened the locket and then moved to the side, her posture rigid.
Jungkook's eyes followed her, a mix of hurt and confusion in his gaze.
Jungkook: What's this for? Are you forgiving me?
Y/N's expression remained impassive as she replied,
Y/N: I'm doing this so that my mom won't suspect anything.
Jungkook's brow furrowed as he processed her words.
Jungkook: If you don't want to be with me, then why are you acting like you're happy with me?
Y/N took a deep breath, struggling to keep her emotions in check.
Y/N: Because I want to protect my parents. And by marrying you, I can take my revenge on you more easily.
Jungkook's eyes widened with a mixture of pain and disbelief.
Jungkook: You will never forgive me?
Y/N's gaze was unwavering, her voice resolute.
Y/N: Yeah. Never.
She turned to leave, but before she could take a step, Jungkook moved with surprising strength. He wrapped his arms around her in a desperate embrace, his voice cracking with emotion.
Jungkook: Please, Y/N. Don't go. Stay with me.
Y/N's heart ached at his please, but she forced herself to remain firm. Gently but firmly, she pulled away from his embrace.
Y/N: I can't stay. *her voice barely above a whisper.
She walked out of his room and down the hallway, her steps heavy with the weight of her decision. As she exited the house, she paused momentarily on the porch. The night air was cool and biting, but it did little to numb the ache in her heart.
In the window of Jungkook's room, he stood watching her, his expression a mix of hope and despair. Their eyes met for a fleeting moment, and Y/N saw the pleading in his gaze. But she kept walking, her resolve unwavering even as tears began to stream down her face.
Once outside, Y/N stood on the sidewalk, her tears flowing freely. She couldn't bring herself to look back at Jungkook, even though every part of her wanted to. She knew she had to keep moving forward, driven by the constraints of her own circumstances.
Dunge's blackmail loomed over her like a dark cloud. The threat of harm to her loved ones if she defied him weighed heavily on her, leaving her with little choice but to distance herself from Jungkook. She had hoped to protect him by staying away, even as it broke her heart.
As Y/N walked away, the pain of her actions was nearly unbearable. She wanted to forgive Jungkook, to bridge the chasm that had grown between them, but she was trapped by forces beyond her control. She felt a profound sadness and helplessness, knowing that her own sacrifices were necessary to shield those she cared about.
With every step, her resolve to protect her family and deal with Dunge's threats hardened, even as her heart broke for the love she had to leave behind.
She wanted to forgive him but she had her own reasons. Dunge was blackmailing her so she had to keep a distance from Jungkook. Dunge also wanted Y/N to not marry Jungkook but Y/N didn't agree. She wanted to protect him no matter what.
A few days later
Their parents were out on a trip. They didn't want to take any risk so they told Y/N and Jungkook to stay together at this weekend. Both had no choice but to obey them.
The night was calm, the moon casting a gentle glow on the quiet street. Y/N stood at Jungkook's front door, her heart racing as she raised her hand to knock. Just as her knuckles were about to make contact, the door swung open, revealing Jungkook standing there with an expectant expression.
Jungkook: Y/N *he said, relief washing over his features* You came.
For a moment, they just stared at each other, the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air. Jungkook's eyes were warm but edged with concern.
Jungkook: Come in *he asked softly, stepping aside to let her in.
Y/N hesitated for a brief moment before walking past him into the familiar hallway. The scent of his cologne and the faint sound of music from his room wrapped around her, igniting a flood of memories.
He closed the door behind her and turned, watching her with an intensity that made her stomach twist.
Y/N glanced around the room, avoiding his gaze. The walls seemed to close in on her, filled with reminders of their happier times. they both walked to the living room.
Jungkook: Are you hungry? *Y/n just nodded.
The warm glow of the kitchen lights cast a cozy ambiance as Jungkook rummaged through the fridge, searching for ingredients. Y/N stood beside him, a determined look on her face.
Jungkook: *glancing over his shoulder Are you ready for some bulgogi?
Y/N nodded eagerly, a flicker of excitement in her eyes despite the circumstances that brought her here.
Y/N: Let me help you. How about I chop the vegetables? You handle the meat.
As they settled into their tasks, Y/N carefully sliced the onions, the sharp aroma bringing back memories of cooking together in the past.
Y/N: *teasingly You remember how to marinate the meat. Last time, you almost burnt it! * for a moment she forgot that she has to pretend that she's still hasn't forgiven him.
Jungkook: *laughing Hey! That was one time! I promise I've improved.
Y/N gaze drifted to the frame on the wall, capturing a moment in time—her and Jungkook's engagement. A bittersweet smile tugged at her lips, but her distraction had consequences. The knife slipped, and she felt a sharp sting as she cut her finger.
Y/N: *letting out a small gasp "Ouch!"
Jungkook whipped around, his eyes wide with concern.
Jungkook: Y/N! Are you okay?
He rushed to her side, his hands gentle yet firm as he examined her wound. Y/N watched, mesmerized by the way he cared for her, his brows furrowed in worry.
Jungkook: *carefully placing a band-aid over her cut "You need to be more careful. What were you thinking about?"
Y/N was momentarily lost in his gaze, the warmth of his presence making her heart race.
Y/N: *shaking her head slightly I was just… distracted. It's nothing, really.
Jungkook studied her, a hint of concern still lingering in his eyes.
Jungkook: Are you sure? If you are uncomfortable with me then I can call your friends if you need company.
Y/N: *smiling softly No, really. I'm fine. Just a bit clumsy, that's all.
She took a deep breath, trying to shake off the heaviness that hung between them. The kitchen felt cozy, filled with the sound of sizzling and their shared laughter as they resumed cooking.
After dinner Jungkook offered Y/N to watch movie, but Y/N denied thinking it will definitely create awkward moment between if a romantic scene came up. Y/N suggested to do study and Jungkook agreed.
Y/N glanced at Jungkook, his expression a mix of understanding and disappointment.
Y/N: I just thought it might be better to study. *Y/N said, avoiding his gaze.
Jungkook nodded, running a hand through his hair.
Jungkook: Yeah, that makes sense. *He pulled out some textbooks and laid them on the table, the mood shifting from casual to focused.
As they started, Y/N could feel Jungkook's presence beside them, a comforting warmth that made it hard to concentrate. Every time they exchanged glances, a flutter of nerves danced in Y/N's stomach.
Jungkook: Hey, what's the formula for this one? *Jungkook asked, leaning closer, his shoulder brushing against Y/N's.
Y/N's heart raced, their thoughts momentarily scattered.
Y/N: Uh, it's… um, it's this one, *they stammered, pointing to the page. Jungkook's eyes sparkled with curiosity as he leaned in even closer, his focus entirely on Y/N. Y/N couldn't help but wonder if maybe a movie wouldn't have been so bad after all.
As they poured over the textbooks, Bam suddenly bounded into the living room, his fluffy tail wagging excitedly. Y/N's heart dropped at the sight of the dog, and in a split second, she jumped up and clung to Jungkook, screaming,
Y/N: What's he doing here?! Jungkook, I'm scared!
Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise.
Jungkook: Calm down, Y/N! He's my dog, Bam! *He chuckled softly, trying to ease the panic in Y/N's voice* I didn't get to introduce him earlier. He won't do anything, I promise.
But Y/N shook her head fervently, her grip on Jungkook tightening.
Y/N: No! I'm scared! *She peeked over Jungkook's shoulder at Bam, who was now sitting patiently, tilting his head in curiosity.
Jungkook: Bam is super friendly, I swear! *Jungkook said, trying to hold back a laugh* He just wants to say hi. Look, he's not barking or anything!
Y/N's heart raced, still unsure.
Y/N: But he's so… big!
Jungkook: Bam, come here! *Bam trotted over, his tail wagging even more* See? He just wants to play.
Y/N hesitated, then peeked out from behind Jungkook, eyes wide. Bam gave a soft whine, his big eyes looking up at them expectantly.
Y/N took a deep breath, still clinging to Jungkook but feeling a flicker of curiosity.
Y/N: Okay, but if he barks or jumps, I'm out of here!
Jungkook smiled, feeling a wave of warmth.
Jungkook: Deal. *As Y/N slowly eased their grip, Jungkook felt a rush of affection for Y/N, hopeful that maybe, just maybe, Bam would become a reason to connect.
Y/N tried to focus on the textbook, but Bam's presence lingered in the back of her mind, making it nearly impossible. Jungkook noticed her distraction and sighed softly.
Jungkook: Y/N, *he said, leaning back slightly. *Do you want to sleep?
Her eyes widened.
Y/N: Here? With you?!
Jungkook chuckled, a playful glint in his eyes.
Jungkook: If that's what you want. I have no problem with it. After all, we are engaged.
Y/N: *frowned Jungkook, don't forget I'm still mad at you.
In a swift move, Jungkook grabbed her hand, stopping her from shifting away. He pulled her gently onto his lap, his warmth enveloping her. Leaning in closer, he whispered softly in her ear,
Jungkook: For how long are you going to resist me? Just say it—you want to be back. Say you want my love.
Y/N felt her heart race, his words igniting a longing deep inside her. She wanted to say yes, to lean into him, but she was holding back for his sake, wanting to protect him from her own fears. With a determined breath, she set herself free from his grip, standing up.
Y/N: I'm going to sleep. *her voice firm, though her heart wavered.
Jungkook watched her, a mix of disappointment and understanding crossing his face.
Jungkook: Y/N… *he began, but she turned away, unable to face him, knowing that deep down, she wanted nothing more than to be wrapped in his arms, safe and sound.
The room was dim, the soft glow of the lamp casting a warm light over Y/N as she lay peacefully asleep on the bed. Jungkook watched her for a moment, his heart swelling with affection. He quietly approached, careful not to disturb her.
He knelt beside her, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face. Jungkook couldn't help himself; he wrapped his arms around her gently, pulling her close. As he hugged her, he felt her warmth against him, and a sense of calm washed over him.
Leaning down, he pressed a tender kiss on her forehead, lingering for a moment.
Jungkook: I wish you knew how much you mean to me and stop pushing me away *he whispered softly, his breath warm against her skin. He placed another kiss on her cheek, feeling a rush of emotions as he did.
Y/N stirred slightly, a small smile forming on her lips as she nestled closer to him. Jungkook's heart raced at the sight. He tightened his embrace, wishing he could hold onto this moment forever.
Jungkook: I'm not going anywhere, *he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. I'll always be here for you. *With that, he left the room but from inside dying to be near the person he loved most.
The day of the last exam was marked by an anxious hurry. Roy and Y/N, both running late, barely managed to slip into the exam hall before the doors closed behind them. Their faces were clouded with worry, a stark contrast to the usual end-of-term relief that filled the air. The exam itself felt like a blur, overshadowed by the events that had unfolded outside the classroom.
After the exam, Y/N and Roy found a quiet bench in a secluded corner of the campus. They sat side by side, their expressions grave, the weight of recent events pressing heavily on their shoulders.
Jungkook, noticing their distress, approached with a furrowed brow.
Jungkook: What happened? *concern etched in his voice.
Roy's voice was lined with a mix of anger and sadness.
Roy: Dunge killed an orphan girl.
Jungkook's eyes widened in shock.
Jungkook: What? But why?
Y/N, her gaze downcast, spoke up.
Y/N: One day, when I was out with Rinda, I went to meet Dunge. He demanded that I give him all my shares, or he would kill everyone.
Jungkook his frustration evident, added,
Jungkook: Why didn't you tell us about this?
Y/N's shoulders slumped.
Y/N: I thought he was just trying to scare me. I didn't take him seriously.
Jungkook, trying to stay calm, said,
Jungkook: Let's not argue. We need to focus. How did you find out about that girl's death?
Roy took a deep breath, his voice heavy with sorrow.
Roy: We were on our way to the university. I saw Angine standing there. I was shocked because I had left her at the orphanage last time. Before I could reach her, a car hit her, and she died on the spot.
Y/N's face paled as a thought struck her.
Y//N: I remember something Dunge said to me—a code. It was 'AFFFPJRA.
Jungkook looked puzzled.
Jungkook: What code?
Y/N continued, her voice trembling slightly.
Y/N: The list of people who are going to die soon. The first letter 'A' stands for Angine.
Roy's expression darkened.
Roy: And now Dunge will kill three people at a time.
Jungkook's brow furrowed further.
Jungkook: How do you know that?
Roy nodded grimly.
Roy: I did a lot of research about him.
Jungkook's mind raced.
Jungkook: Then we need to find the next three people on the list quickly. Do we have any idea who they might be?
Y/N, her mind working through the implications, said,
Y/N: I don't know what the letter 'F' could stand for.
Jungkook's eyes narrowed in determination.
Jungkook: Let's all meet tonight at my house. We'll figure out the code and try to find the next targets before it's too late.
At university parking area:
Roy stood beside his motorcycle, the engine rumbling as he prepared to leave. His eyes darted toward Y/N, who was standing by her car, her posture rigid. He remembered the harsh words he had spoken earlier, the frustration he had directed at her over Angine's death. The weight of his actions bore down on him now, and he felt a pang of regret.
Y/N, however, avoided eye contact. Her gaze was fixed on Jungkook, who was making his way to his car, his movements slow and deliberate. Her heart ached as she watched him, knowing that she was pushing him away for his own protection. The sight of him only intensified her inner conflict.
As Roy revived his bike, he took one last look at Y/N. The look of detachment on her face made his heart sink. He wished he could find the right words to apologize, to make amends for his earlier behavior. But the moment for reconciliation seemed to slip away as he mounted his motorcycle and pulled away from the parking lot. His departure was marked by the loud roar of the engine, a stark contrast to the quiet tension left behind.
Jungkook, having noticed Y/N's distant demeanor, glanced over as he approached his car. His heart sank as he saw her deliberately looking away. He had hoped for a chance to mend their strained relationship, to bridge the growing chasm between them. But as Y/N opened the door to her car and slipped inside, her eyes remained fixed on the horizon, avoiding his gaze.
Jungkook stood by his car, his own feelings a mix of sorrow and longing. He wanted nothing more than to reach out to Y/N, to bridge the distance that had grown between them, but he felt powerless to do so when she was so determined to stay away. His heart ached with the realization that their relationship was fraying at the edges, each of them trapped by their own fears and regrets.
Y/N, sitting in her car, took a deep breath. She looked at Jungkook one last time through the windshield, but her resolve to stay away remained unshaken. The thought of protecting him from Dunge's threats and ensuring his safety, even if it meant keeping him distance, weighed heavily on her heart.
The parking lot was now quiet, the only sound being the soft hum of engines starting up and the distant murmur of voices. Roy's bike disappeared into the light, Jungkook stood alone by his car, and Y/N drove away, her heart heavy with the burden of her decision.
As they went their separate ways, each was consumed by their own feelings of regret and longing. Roy wanted to make things right, Jungkook wished for a chance to mend their relationship, and Y/N was torn between her desire to protect Jungkook and the painful necessity of staying away.
The parking lot, now empty and silent, stood as a silent witness to the complex web of emotions and unspoken words that had defined their recent interactions. The challenges ahead loomed large, but for now, the unresolved feelings between them lingered in the cool air, each person left to grapple with their own heartache.
