Sora's POV
"I have to go to my university today. You wanna tag along?" Taehyung asked, turning to look at me while he chewed on his toast.
"On Sunday? And on that motorbike again? No, no," I shook my head at the thought of his dangerous bike.
"I'm working on a project with some of the alphas at school. We have to finish it before tomorrow. Come along, as long as you're with me... we won't be in danger," He smiled before turning back to his food.
"Not in danger? We were literally chased by- ahhh..!" Taehyung suddenly grabbed onto my swollen wrist, sending a painful surge through my arm.
"No," He mouthed me and glanced cautiously at his parents and Mr. Jeon. Am I not supposed to mention it?
"Why?" I whispered. They should know if we're in danger.
"They won't let us out of the mansion if they knew," He whispered in my ear. I unconsciously giggled when I felt the tickles of his breath against my ear.
"Ah, how cute. You're getting along," Mr. Kim smiled at us. We were turned to look at her with a flustered face, then awkwardly turned back to our food.
"Come on," Taehyung suddenly stood up.
"Where do you think you're going?" Mr. Jeon asked Taehyung. He turned to look at Mr. Jeon unsurely.
"To the university..." Taehyung replied, turning to look at his mother for an explanation on Mr. Jeon's attitude.
"And do you plan on taking Sora-shi on your dangerous bike again?" Mr. Jeon questioned Taehyung, so he turned to look at his mother again with his eyebrows furrowed together.
"I've never gotten into any accidents, so she's safe with me," Taehyung tugged Mrs. Kim's arm for help.
"You lost her yesterday, and who knows what will happen today?" Mr. Jeon dawdled while reading through his newspaper.
"He's just trying to protect the both of you.." Mrs. Kim finally exhaled, looking at Taehyung apologetically.
"Eomma!" He whined at his mom.
"Araso araso, if you want to take her just take the car. Don't ride your bike," She nodded at her son.
"But-"
"Take the car or you can't go," Mr. Jeon smiled smugly at Taehyung.
"Fine..." He mumbled in frustration.
"And the driver," Mr. Jeon added, making Taehyung snap his head towards him in shock.
"No driver," Taehyung objected sternly.
"Driver," Mr. Jeon looked up at Taehyung. They're bickering like kids. It's hilarious.
"No! Driving a car is enough! No driver," Taehyung stomped his way out of the room, hastily dragging me with him.
"Why are you laughing?" He turned to look at me in irritation.
"It's just funny. Why do you hate cars so much?" I smiled at him as we walked down the hallways.
"I just don't like it, get dressed. I'll meet you at the parking lot," Taehyung shook his head and walked toward his room. I decided to dress in casual clothes because I want to at least feel comfortable in the uncomfortable environment I'll be in. I walked out of my room and down the hallway when I heard- thud thud- from one of the rooms.
"Hmmm... What's that?" I curiously pressed my ear against the door. Thud thud thud. Out of curiosity, I turned the doorknob and peeked inside the room.
"Omo..." I whispered when Jungkook turned to look at me. He was drenched in sweat as he boxed the punching bag.
"Yah! You pervert! What are you doing!" Jungkook screamed at me.
"Stop screaming! I heard the noises... so I just wanted to check..." I glanced around the room. They have a gym?! What else do they have in this place?!
"Stop sneaking around or did you come here to check out my abs?" He asked while covering his upper body. That's when I realize he's shirtless. My cheek flushed red in embarrassment.
"Why would I want to see your abs? I didn't even pay attention to it. My boyfriend can even make waves with his abs. I bet you can't. " I scoffed. Jungkook shot me a sharp glare. It's true, my Yoongi can do it.
"What? Did I wound your pride?" I asked while smirking at him.
"You? You have a boyfriend? Who would date someone like you?" Jungkook huffed after pulling on his T-shirt and approached me.
"That's my question, who would date someone like you? Oh right, that rude girl. Of course, you're both rude! You're meant for each other," I smirked at him. His face turned bright red at my words.
"She-"
"Not interested, bye," I shrugged, walking out of the room without another word. I know he's really annoyed, and probably wants to murder me right now.
"What took you so long?" Taehyung asked while waiting for me in the parking lot.
"Got into an argument with Jungkook," I walked up to him. He's dressed in his usual bad-boy fashion again.
"Come on," Taehyung beckoned me forward, then turned to walk past the rows of cars.
"I'm betting it's the black one," I nodded towards the car at the end. It's a black four-seated Ferrari.
"I'm surprised," He smiled at me as he unlocked the car. I'm not surprised. I thought and rolled my eyes.
"Aish, I hate this," Taehyung grumbled, slowly driving out of the mansion.
"Do you think we'll get chased again?" I questioned, glancing around cautiously. I really don't want to die with him.
"No idea. I was never chased for almost two years until you came," Taehyung shrugged as he drove on the highway.
"Do you think it has anything to do with me?" I asked, turning to look at him.
"Maybe? I'm not sure, maybe they're confused about you. No one really knows who you are and you're living with two of the top alphas. Of course, they want to know your identity," Taehyung nodded at me with his eyes trained on the road.
"Hmmm..." I nodded and we fell silent. My eyes became heavy after sitting in silence, so I dozed off into a deep sleep.
"Sora, wake up," Taehyung poked me, so I rubbed my eyes and yawned as he slowly drove into the parking lot.
"Woah," I whispered, staring at hundreds of expensive cars parked next to one another.
"Just wait until you see the interior," Taehyung chuckled, pulling into one of the empty spaces.
"Wait, you guys come to school on Sunday? I thought you said you were here to work on your project, but it seems like the entire school is here," I asked, turning to look at him in confusion. Why is everyone at school? Isn't the place hell? Like who would spend their time at school on a Sunday?
"Okay, I'm sorry. I lied. The school year starts tomorrow, but we're mostly here to check the schedules and the classes," Taehyung smiled at me. Huh? He's so confusing sometimes.
"You didn't have to lie.." I muttered and got out of the car.
"I was afraid you wouldn't want to be at a crowded place full of rich kids," He shrugged, catching up with me.
"Let me do the talking..." Taehyung straightened his body when we arrived at the security department.
"Mr. Kim, who-"
"She's my cousin, from abroad," Taehyung sideways looked at me. Cousin? I awkwardly smiled at the security guard, who was eyeing me cautiously.
"You know we cannot-"
"She just wants to take a look around the place. I'll be responsible in my parent's name," Taehyung sternly stared at the security guard. Omo, he shouldn't say that. It's too risky!
"Sir-"
"You do realize I'm the third rank, right? I don't plan on bringing in a terrorist to blow up my only safe haven," Taehyung snapped at the guard.
"Alright, we'll let her through, but she has to keep all her belongings here," The guard agreed. He pressed the button and the big black metallic door slid open to welcome us. They took my phone and purse.
"I feel like a prisoner," I muttered and walked through the scanner. I mean yeah it's cool but do they have to go this far?
"Kaja~!" Taehyung dragged me out of the security department.
"Taehyung wait-"
"Oh it's so crowded," He muttered... not paying attention to me, and kept on dragging me with him.
"Taehyung Oppa!" A feminine voice called out for him.
"Oh hey, Shira," Taehyung greeted, turning to look at her.
"Mira... it's Mira.." She rolled her eyes at him. He doesn't even know her name.
"Taehyung, listen...," I tugged his arm nervously and glanced at my feet.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked, finally turning to look at me, so I pointed at my feet.
"Where's your other shoe?" Taehyung laughs at my exposed sock. I pursed my lips in embarrassment and wiggled my feet under the sock.
"I told you to stop! But you didn't listen! It's back there!" I snapped at him, causing the females to gasp at me. What? Why are they gasping?! Did I say something offensive???
"Oh? Mianhae, stay here," Taehyung laughed before rushing back to where we came from to retrieve my shoe while I stood in my sock in a place crowded with crazy rich people.
"Who are you?" The Mira girl asked me coldly as her friends crowded around her.
"I'm Jang Sora," I smiled at her, but she kept her face straight. RUDE.
"Why are you with Taehyung oppa? Just look at you..." She eyed me from head to toe in disgust. Wow. Do they have to be so bitchy?
"That's none of your business," I shortly responded. She glared at me and was about to say something when Taehyung appeared again with my other shoe.
"Here, I'm sorry," Taehyung suddenly bent his knees to slip the sneaker back onto my feet. The people around us gawked at Taehyung in disbelief. What... why are they staring at him like that?
"Taehyung you don't have to-"
"Ani, it's fine," He chuckled while tying my shoelaces and stood up. Mira was staring at Taehyung with her mouth hanging open.
"Oh, you're still here, Shira?" Taehyung turned to look at the short-haired girl again.
"I told you it's Mira," She shot him an annoyed look.
"Ah, okay. See you around," He nods dully before pulling me through the crowd.
"Where are we going?" I asked, trying to keep up with him.
"To find a less crowded place," Taehyung muttered, making his way down the stairs and into a large room. It buzzed with voices and laughter.
"Taehyung! Oh! Hey Sora!" Jimin appeared in the crowd.
"I was looking for you," Taehyung greeted his friend and gave Jimin a buddy hug.
"Here. I grabbed yours when I got mine," Jimin handed Taehyung a stack of papers.
"Thank you. Ah- let's find a place to sit before I suffocate in this crowd," Taehyung bitterly stared at the crowd and pushed his way through the dense mass. We finally reach their 'canteen' that looks exactly like a 5-star restaurant.
"Finalllyyy~!" Jimin gasped, sitting down in front of me. Taehyung sat beside me.
"That's a lot of alphas..." I whispered while glancing around the unfamiliar place.
"Wait, you know about it?" Jimin questioned, turning to stare at me in surprise.
"Yeah, I told her," Taehyung shrugged. Jimin nodded and smiled at me.
"Not everyone here is an alpha, you know?" Jimin keenly leaned against his chair with his hands clasped together on the table.
"Jinja- I thought-"
"You're only an alpha if you're in rank 5 and above. The rests are betas and deltas. Lower ranks," Taehyung sideway smiled at me.
"Wow, there's more?" I asked, staring at them in disbelief.
"Yeah, there's more. Only a few are in the Alpha ranks, about 30 - 50 people. One in the second rank, Kim Seokjin. Two in the 3rd rank, Jungkook and I. Four in the 4th rank, that's Jimin, Minho, Namjoon, and Hoseok. The rest of the alphas are in the 5th rank," Taehyung tried to explain their weird system to me.
"What about the beta and delta?" I asked, overwhelmed by the ranking system.
"Rank 6 - 50 are the betas and rank 51-100 are the deltas- we call them the lower ranks," Jimin shrugged at a random group of people. I turned to look at Taehyung with my mouth hanging open.
"You people are crazy," I muttered while rubbing my forehead to process the information. What's with the ranks???
"We're all crazy. Oh yeah, it's rare for people to cross from delta to beta to alpha. People usually stay in the same category they're born in," Jimin leaned forward with a beaming smile. He seemed proud of his status, so it made me feel so small. What am I compared to them?
"Wait, who's in the first rank?" I asked when I remembered Taehyung didn't mention anything about it.
"Anonymous. The kid doesn't even attend this school. Probably living in a foreign country," Taehyung huffed. That's weird.
"Some people say the person doesn't even exist and that Seokjin is the supreme alpha and that he just wants to stay low," Jimin eagerly leans forward.
"That's not possible, who would be dumb enough to reject the highest rank? It's the safest one," Taehyung shook his head.
"It's also the most dangerous. Sora, the supreme alpha changes every year you know that? They just disappear or die in mysterious ways. How's that safe?" Jimin shivered in fear.
"It hasn't changed for almost ten years though and the alpha is anonymous," Taehyung shrugged.
"True, this one is very strong and powerful. I heard it's a 'he'," Jimin nodded eagerly.
"Friends~!" Someone approached our table, so we turned to find a lean and tall guy walking toward us with his arms wide open. He has a very broad shoulder and a very handsome face.
