Sora's POV
I woke up to feel a bit of an ache on my back, but it wasn't that bad. The worst thing is that I'm back at the mansion. No matter how hard I fought to escape the place, it sucks me right back in. Is it really impossible to escape this place?
"Where are you going?" Taehyung asks as we pass each other in the hallway.
"Nowhere," I muttered, keeping my head low since what happened- I couldn't look at him in the eyes. He went through so much for me, and I feel really guilty about it. Taehyung stared at me unsurely before walking off without another word.
"Heading to the garden?" Jungkook asks as he watches me from the couch.
"No," I whispered. Jungkook has been acting weird since I came back. He wouldn't leave me alone. He'd ask me where I was going and would follow me around the mansion. I pushed the front door open and took a deep breath to inhale the refreshing air.
"Oh? Sora, how are you?" Jimin smiles, limping across from the garden. He's the only nice person here.
"Good, how's your back?" I asked when I noticed he was pressing his hand against his back in discomfort.
"Better, but it's still painful sometimes," Jimin nods while staring at the fountain.
"Are you going somewhere?" Jimin turns to ask me after a long pause between us.
"To be honest, I'm going to see Yoongi, but I don't think it's a good idea. Everyone is monitoring my every move," I shrugged. I haven't seen Yoongi in almost a week. My parents didn't even visit me after the incident, but I did get a phone call from them after I woke up. They called through the Jeons since my phone broke.
"You can't leave. They won't let you," Jimin looks at me sadly.
"Really? No wonder. Something felt off," I shrugged. They've forbidden me from leaving the mansion, and I can't even contact Yoongi. This is hell. Sighing, I headed back inside the mansion.
"What are you doing?-" I stopped dead when I accidentally pushed the door into Jungkook's face, causing him to stumble backward.
"Don't you have eyes?!" Jungkook snapped while rubbing his forehead in annoyance.
"Why were you standing behind the door?!" I snapped at him. Who on earth would stand behind a door? It's his fault for standing there.
"I was about to leave!" Jungkook grimaced and walked out quickly. What's up with him? Confused, I kept my eyes on him as I made my way toward the kitchen.
"Oh, miss! What brought you here?" The maids turned to look at me in surprise.
"Just looking for some juice," I nodded shyly before approaching the fridge.
"Oh! Please have the orange juice! It's freshly made," The maid suggested, pulling out a jar of orange juice and poured it into a cup.
"Thank you," I smiled weakly and took a sip of it until I noticed Taehyung waving his hands angrily at someone by the gate through the window. What's going on?
"Oh? Miss? You didn't finish your juice-"
"Please bring it to my room," I quickly settled down the cup on the counter and rushed out of the kitchen. What's going on??
"GO AWAY!" Taehyung snapped at someone as Jungkook, Jimin, and a few guards crowded around him.
"Taehyung-ah! Just let him-"
"I don't trust you! Not anymore!" Taehyung snapped at Jimin in irritation and turned back to the person.
"I'M HERE TO SEE HER! I'M NOT TAKING HER ANYWHERE!" Yoongi argued loudly, and my heart stopped beating.
"Yoongi...?" I called out, walking towards them in a hurry. I miss him! Is he alright?
"Oh? SORA!" Yoongi gasped, turning to look at me with his eyes wide open.
"Sora, hajima," Taehyung warned in a cold voice when I took a step toward Yoongi.
"I'm sorry," I pushed past Taehyung to give Yoongi a tight hug.
"TAEHYUNG!" Jungkook called when Taehyung angrily stomped away in frustration.
"I'll go after him," Jimin weakly smiled before chasing after his friend. Why is he so upset? I mean, I get it. What we did was dumb, but he shouldn't keep us away from each other!
"And I'll be watching you two- Just in case you come up with another genius plan of yours," Jungkook shot us a skeptical glare before sitting down on the bench nearby.
"You look pale," I examined him worriedly. He had dark circles around his eyes.
"I miss you," Yoongi sighed, gently grazing my cheeks with a blank expression.
"I miss you too. How's your parent?" I asked while holding onto his hands.
"They won't let me out. They won't even let me contact you because of what happened," Yoongi sadly shook his head.
"How did you get here?" I asked, realizing it. If he's not supposed to see me- then how did he get here?
"I went for a checkup and ran away," Yoongi smiled weakly.
"Yoongi! You'll get in trouble," I gasped and smacked his arm lightly. He shouldn't run away like this again. His parent might end up locking him up for good.
"Doesn't matter, as long as I can see you. Nothing matters," Yoongi sighed, leaning forward to give me a soft peck, so I pulled him in by his waist. I've been craving him, and nothing feels better than this. I gulped and leaned forward to kiss him-
"AHEEEMMM," Jungkook suddenly coughed, making us turn to look at him.
"What?" Jungkook glanced away awkwardly. He's so annoying.
"I promise I'll make it right for us again," Yoongi whispered and pulled me into a tight hug.
"Min Yoongi!" Mr. Min sighed, walking through the gate in frustration.
"Appa-"
"How dare you run away?! Get him!" Mr. Min snapped as Yoongi's guards tugged him away from me.
"Hajima! Let me go!" Yoongi snapped in anger as he thrashed around in irritation. My heart hurts. We're both in pain.
"I'm sorry, Sora-shi. I need to keep him away from you for now. He's too dangerous for you," Mr. Min sighed and patted my shoulder. I nodded in difficulty, trying hard to fight the urge to cry. And in a split second, Yoongi was gone again.
"Time to go home, Sora-shi~" Jungkook teased, but it wasn't funny. I quickly wiped my tears and made my way back to the mansion.
"What? Yah! Why are you crying? I didn't mean to upset you!" Jungkook asked in shock when he noticed my grumpy expression.
"Go away," I sniffled, rushing into the mansion to avoid his annoying ass. I don't want to be here anymore! I locked myself up in my room and cried in pain. After almost three hours of mental breakdown and thinking hard- I finally made up my mind.
"Sora-shi? Time for dinner," Mrs. Kim knocked on my door. Oh? Why is she here?
"I'm coming," I quickly got off my bed after rubbing away my tears. I quickly washed my face and walked out of my room to find Mrs. Kim waiting for me.
"Aigo! Look at you," Mrs. Kim sadly eyed me and reached out to fix my hair before leading me down the hallway.
"What brought you here? You could have asked the maid to call me instead," I put on a fake smile.
"I figured you wouldn't want to come if I asked the maid. So I came personally," Mrs. Kim chuckled while wrapping her hand around my arm.
"I'm sorry," I said quietly. True. If she asked a maid to get me, I would have denied them.
"Don't be! You haven't had dinner with us for so long. Cheer up and join us- you're our family," She smiled. The maid was holding the dining room door open for us. Her kindness makes me feel really sorry for the reckless things I did. She's trying her best to ignore the trouble I caused.
"Anneonghaseyo," I bowed quietly at the elders. I couldn't look any of them in the eyes. Especially Mr. Jeon.
"Here comes the clever girl," Mrs. Jeon rolls her eyes sarcastically. She hates me even more now.
"Don't make her feel uncomfortable. Let's enjoy dinner," Mrs. Kim glared at her sister in annoyance. I quietly sat down beside Jimin at the edge of the table since it was the only seat available. Jungkook and Taehyung were sitting in front of me with straight faces. We quietly ate dinner as the elder discussed their business. I kept on looking up at Mr. Jeon, waiting for a chance to say something.
"Sora? Are you okay?" Mrs. Kim questioned, leaning in to look at my face, causing me to snap out of my thoughts.
"Yes, I'm fine," I replied, blinking repeatedly, and turned back to my food. Jungkook stopped chewing midway to stare at me awkwardly.
"You don't like the food?" Jimin leaned in to whisper as I sat staring at my food.
"Ani-"
"Why aren't you eating then? Are you feeling sick?" Mr. Jeon asked from the end of the table.
"No, I'm not sick. It's just that I have something to say," I finally put my spoon down. My heart began to race nervously.
"Go ahead," Mrs. Kim encouraged. Taehyung quickly glanced at me in confusion but looked away just as quickly.
"First of all, I would like to apologize for the chaos I've created with my partner. I am terribly sorry for committing reckless stunts. And I would like to bow and apologize to everyone for putting their lives at risk," I apologized, bowing at the elders politely. Everyone suddenly fell silent as they stared at me.
"I am reflecting on my mistake. I will not ask you for forgiveness because the problem I caused is unforgivable. While reflecting on my disastrous action- I came to realize that... I do not fit in this society. I realize I will continue to cause trouble if I proceed to live in this society due to my lack of understanding and awareness. Therefore, after careful consideration, I've decided to leave this place and return to my parent. I'm sure they'll welcome me with open arms. I can't bring my partner with me because he's now an alpha. So, as an ordinary person, I think it's best for me to return to my ordinary life. Busan is where I belong. Thank you for all the generosity and warmth I've received, and I'm sorry for troubling all of you," I smiled and bowed at them. The room fell silent. No one moved nor stirred.
Taehyung was staring at his plate blankly. Jungkook and Jimin stared at me with a dumbfounded expression. Mrs. Kim bit her lips anxiously next to Mr. Kim. Mr. Jeon was staring at his hand with a conflicted expression. The Park, on the other hand, sat awkwardly in their seats.
"D-did I confuse-"
"No, we fully understand what you said, Sora. But you came here to pursue your dreams. You got into the most prestigious university," Mr. Jeon sternly replied.
"I did, but I haven't learned much since I came because of the trouble I caused or the ongoing competitions between the alphas. The university in Busan suits me better," I gulped nervously. What if they won't let me go?
"Sora, I understand, but this is the greatest opportunity-" Mrs. Kim smiles at me.
"Very well, we'll contact your parents. It's your wish, and we'll grant it. Let's enjoy dinner," Mr. Jeon nodded with a dim expression before turning his attention back to the food. I sighed in relief. I looked up to find Jungkook and Jimin... still staring at me in disbelief. Their mouths were slightly ajar.
Taehyung, on the other hand, was no longer avoiding me. He was staring right at me with his dark brown eyes. He didn't blink or move as he sat fixedly... staring right at me from across the table. I looked away uncomfortably a couple of times, but he wouldn't stop darting me the intimidating stare.
BANG!
"Taehyung!" Mrs. Kim scolded her son when he suddenly slammed his fist against the table... startling everyone. He was breathing heavily. Taehyung quickly got up and circled the table.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Mr. Jeon snapped when Taehyung suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the dining room with him.
