"It's not that bad when you're hungry," I giggled while cracking one of the eggs from the bag, and peeled off the shells.
"Thank you," Jimin smiled when I gave it to him. Jungkook scoffed and turned to look out the window. I peeled two more and gave one each to Jungkook and Taehyung. Jungkook fired me a disgusted look, but Taehyung didn't complain and accepted it. Aish... this kid... how ungrateful.
"I'll eat it then-"
"Give it to me!" Jungkook quickly snatched the chicken egg out of my hand when I was about to take a bite. Taehyung, on the other hand, bit his lips quietly and munched on the egg. I happily ate the one Jimin peeled for me. I stopped chewing abruptly when I turned to find Seokjin, Hoseok, Namjoon, and Yoongi staring at us in hunger.
"Do you want it?" I asked while chewing the eggs in my mouth unsurely.
"M-Moh- ani... Why would I eat that... tsk," Seokjin quickly scoffed, glancing away awkwardly.
"Give it to me," Hoseok smiled, reaching out, so I handed him the bag, but as soon as Hoseok laid it down- Namjoon and Yoongi quickly reached for the boiled eggs. Seokjin bit his lips anxiously as he stared at Hoseok, who was peeling off the shells.
"Do you guys want-" Hoseok was about to pass the eggs to Minho's section when Seokjin suddenly grabbed the bag. He hastily snatched two eggs from the bag before turning to look at me in embarrassment.
"It's better than starving," Seokjin mumbled, averting his eyes uncomfortably, and sat back down. Ah...I guess he can't resist it, huh?
"Can I give it to them..?" Hoseok asked Seokjin in confusion.
"Do you think I'm a pig?!" Seokjin snapped, raising his eggs as if to throw them at Hoseok, but he didn't. Shrugging, Hoseok passed it to Minho's group. The four alphas stared at the bags of eggs.
"Ahem... if you guys don't want it- AH!" Jiwoo slowly reached out for the bag hungrily, but just before he touched it all four of the alphas reached out to slap his hands away, causing Jiwoo to yelp in shock. Without a word, they each took one egg from the bag.
"So... I can have it now...right?" Jiwoo asked, slowly reaching out for the bag again, but no one responded. They were too focused on trying to peel the eggs, so Jiwoo quickly grabbed the bag to share it with the people in his section. Jimin bought too many eggs. It's hilarious. Ah... Why are they like this? They're disgusted by the boiled egg, but they want it...? I'll never understand them. I turned to find Jungkook staring at Seokjin's egg with an intense look. Does he want more...?
"What are you looking at?" Seokjin glanced at Jungkook before turning back to peel his second boiled egg.
"You... you got two," Jungkook gulped... keeping his eyes glued on the egg.
"So?" Seokjin asked and was about to take a bite.
"Jamkkanman!" Jungkook yelped- raising his hands to stop Seokjin from devouring the last egg.
"MOH?!" Seokjin sighed in frustration.
"Give me half," Jungkook said shortly.
"Never~~~"
"AHHHH~!" Jungkook whined, cutely stomping his shoes when Seokjin shoved the entire egg into his mouth. Jungkook exhaled in anger before turning to glare out the window. Jungkook was in a bad mood ever since Seokjin ate the eggs without sharing them with him. Everyone fell asleep again as soon as they finished eating. It was about nine o'clock when we arrived in Busan.
"Finally~!" Jimin smiled, stretching out his arms as we checked into the hotel. Yes, it is the most luxurious building in the city. We were given the choice to sleep alone or with a partner. And all the alpha chose to sleep with a partner except Yoongi. So he got paired up with Namjoon. He didn't look happy. I guess the alphas didn't want to be alone in an unfamiliar environment. It's too dangerous to be alone.
We gathered at a huge dining hall for dinner. Everyone ate quietly since we were all hungry. The professor filled us in with some information before dismissing us. They told us to be ready by 5:00 AM tomorrow since the day will start early. They also told us we were not permitted to leave the hotel after 10:00 PM without their permission. The alphas were displeased, but no one said anything. After dinner, all the alphas gathered in the private lounge with snacks and drinks. Namjoon sat down, eyeing everyone with a smirk on his face. What is he up to? Did he figure it out?
"I see you're traumatized," Namjoon smiled while crossing his legs... sharply staring at Haerim, who kept on refusing the drinks offered to her. Haerim let out a deep sigh and got onto her feet.
"Where are you going? Don't you want to know who poisoned you?" Namjoon tilted his head pridefully, causing Haerim to stop dead in her tracks. Hoseok and Jungkook turned to look at Namjoon's face in confusion. The whole lounge fell silent. Namjoon slowly set his glass down on the table and leaned back against the couch. He's going to expose the person...
"Of course, the person behind this didn't want to leave behind any evidence. What's more perfect than a murder in a dark club? No one sees anything. Except, it wasn't murder. It was a warning call. You three weren't lucky you survived. The cyanide was already diluted. It wasn't strong enough to kill but good enough to put you out for a while. Smart, I'll give you that," Namjoom chuckled, shifting his eyes from one alpha to another. Everyone looked uncomfortable... whoever it is will be in deep trouble with all the alphas...
"Ah... this is just bullshit," Minah scoffed, getting onto his feet. Mira and Minha followed her.
"Is the person in this room?" Haerim asked dully.
"Yes, the person is here," Namjoon nodded while staring at Minho and Mira with a weak smile.
"Why are you looking at me? Poison isn't my thing," Minho shook his head in disbelief.
"Then sit down. Where are you going? Don't leave now, it's suspicious," Jungkookleaned forward with his narrowed eyes. Minho huffed and sat back down with Mira. Minah glanced around anxiously before returning to her seat as well. I leaned on Jimin's shoulder and held onto his hands tightly. Who is it? Minho? Mira? Yoongi?
"I did a lot of digging on the whole incident, and I only told two people about it," Namjoon stared at me with a straight face, causing everyone to turn and look at me. Why is he suddenly looking at me?
"So you wanted to poison Haerim because you're jealous? But why did you poison-"
"Takchoh. I'm not even worried right now. Go on, who's the other person?" I shot Mira an icy stare. She'll never stop blabbering, huh? I shouldn't be worried. I didn't do anything wrong. But I feel like... I won't be expecting the name... it makes me feel uneasy.
"At first, I suspected Minho but no, as you said. Poison isn't your style. I told Sora about one of the staff running away a few days ago-"
"See! It's her!" Mira scoffed while folding her arms... shooting me a sideways glare. I rolled my eyes and nodded at Namjoon.
"It was a lie. No staff escaped. I pretended to figure out the address, and only one person saw it. The next thing I knew, the person sent a sniper to the address. Bam. Right in the trap," Namjoon waved his right arm in the thin air.
"Who's that?" Hoseok asked, leaning forward with his eyes wide open in anticipation. I sucked in my breath nervously...
"For centuries, poison is commonly used by females, isn't that right... Minah-shi? " Namjoon asked, turning to look at Minah. Blood drained from Minah's face. My whole body turned cold. What... on earth? Minah...? Wae?
"It was you?" Hoseok gritted, turning to Minah in fury. Minah sat staring at the floor with a blank expression. I don't know how to feel about this... I can't process it...
"W-wae?" Jungkook mumbled, staring at her blankly... stunned by the truth. It's someone he loves. What will he do? Minah sat frozen in her seat. She was nice to me all these times... was it to hurt me? No wonder she always looked nervous whenever we brought up the topic.
"I won't let this slide," Haerim seethed, pressing her tongue against the side of her mouth with resentment. She could've killed me that day... but she didn't? That doesn't make sense. Why did she help me when I was drunk? She had the chance...
"Kaja," I quickly got up and pulled Minah onto her feet.
"Sora, what are you doing?" Hoseok asked, shooting me a sharp glare when I tried to walk out of the room. I don't know why I'm doing this.
"Well, we found one of our grim reapers," Seokjin scoffed in a mocking tone. Minah had her face hung low. She wasn't crying, but her face was red. For some reason. I felt bad for her... Wae?
"Are you having fun?" Minah asked in a low voice, slowly turning to look at Seokjin. His smile suddenly faded away.
"W-wae? I'm just surprised-"
"Surprised? Were you really worried when you saw Hoseok on the floor? Choking on his own spit?" Minah smirked while staring at him. Seokjin glanced at Hoseok uncomfortably.
"Shit..." Namjoon suddenly muttered in shock as he exchanged glances with Seokjin. What's going on? What is she talking about?
"Why don't w-we head to bed?" Namjoon stuttered, getting onto his feet nervously. Did he just figure out something?
"Seokjin-ah, you of all people can't do this to Hoseok. Our parents negotiated. I was shocked you asked me to fulfill a special condition in order to become your ally. I was surprised because who would want to hurt their closest friend?" Minah tilted her head at Seokjin with a smug smile. The whole room stopped breathing at her word... everyone was eyeing Seokjin with all kinds of expressions...
"What are you talking about?! My parents never agreed to your proposal!" Seokjin snapped at her, clearly offended by her accusation.
"You promised to talk to them, didn't you? If I did what you asked me to," Minah patted Seokjin's shoulder and walked off without another word. Seokjin quickly turned to look at Hoseok, who was staring at Seokjin with his mouth hanging open. He looks very hurt. Everyone was as shocked as Hoseok was. Why did he try to hurt Hoseok?
"Fuck it," Seokjin gritted, stomping off in rage. Namjoon followed him closely. I turned to find Hoseok running his hands through his hair in devastation. Jimin and I exchanged glances. Don't trust anyone... even the ones closest to you. Trust doesn't seem to exist in this world. Jimin and I returned to our room... lost in our own thoughts. I got into the shower first and stayed there for a while to process the situation. Why did Seokjin hurt Hoseok? Wae? Why was Namjoon so scared? Sighing, I quickly got dressed and walked out to find Jimin arranging our luggage by the large glass window with the view of the moon and the dark ocean.
"I'll return Taehyung's jacket," I mumbled, folding the jacket on the bed. Jimin nodded and entered the bathroom. I left the room and walked down the empty hallway. Everyone must be asleep...
"-WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" Namjoon's voice echoed from the room at the intersection.
"-I'm not in the mood-"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!? WAE?!" Namjoon roared as I passed the room. The door wasn't closed all the way, so I could see everything. Seokjin was sitting on the bed with his hands pressed against his temples while Namjoon stood in the corner with a bewildered look.
"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! IT'S NOT LIKE I BETRAYED HIM-" Seokjin abruptly stops when he looks up to find me staring between the gaps. Oh shit. Panicking, I quickly walked off and rounded the corner but immediately stopped again to find Jungkook pressing one of his hands against the wall as Minah stood staring at him. Jungkook was holding onto her wrist with his other hand. I coughed awkwardly when they both turned to look at me.
"You can proceed with whatever you're doing," I nodded, glancing in the opposite direction before strolling past them. Should I ask Jungkook about Taehyung's whereabouts...?
"By the way, where's Taehyung?" I turned to ask Jungkook, so he turned to look at me with emptiness in his eyes. Is he confronting Minah?
"He went for a walk, maybe in the garden," Jungkook said dully. I nodded and walked off. I felt a strange feeling in my chest, and I couldn't make sense of it. Aish... the alphas are ruining this trip. When the elevator's door opened- I quickly entered. It stopped at the floor above mine, and Hoseok entered with a stern look on his face. He silently stood beside me, deep in his own thoughts. Should I say something?
"Ahem... are you alright?" I cleared my throat while looking at him through the elevator's mirror in front of us. Hoseok averted his eyes to mine. He stared at me with this blank expression through the reflection. Maybe he's not in the mood...? Ah... he needs time to think about it.
"I'll see you later then," I whispered, rushing out of the elevator when it got to the top floor. Yes, the garden is located on the roof with the city view. The door slid open and the cold breezy air brushed against my face. I cuddled myself and made my way through the garden to search for Taehyung. It's so cold... maybe he left? I sighed as I walked towards the railing when I noticed him standing by himself... facing the left direction. He was gazing at something, but I couldn't see it since the trees were blocking it. Maybe he's admiring the city's view?
"Taehyung-ah," I called out as I approached him with a faint smile. He turned his head to watch me walk toward him. I finally got to him and turned in the direction he was staring at... only to find Haerim standing just a few feet away from us. Oh. Did I interrupt another couple again? They must be staring at each other this whole time...?
"Um- I was- I just need to return- oh...?" I tried to explain, but before I was able to bid goodbye- Haerim turned and left. Why is she leaving? I was gonna leave them alone. She's so gloomy these days. Taehyung let out a heavy sigh, then walked towards the railings and rested his arms on it.
"Your jacket..." I whispered while standing beside him. He didn't say anything, so I turned to look at the view. We were so high above the ground- it was kind of scary to look down. Under us were the bright city lights, and beyond that... was the dark ocean and the moon's reflection on the surface of the dark seawater.
"It's beautiful," I mumbled while staring at the stunning view. Busan is my home... I feel at peace here.
"With all the darkness hidden within it," Taehyung said quietly. I turned to find him staring at the view with a dead expression on his face. Why is he staring at it so sorrowfully? Are all the alphas like this? It's depressing. I shove the jacket into his arm and turn to leave when a loud tire-screeching noise echoes from the street below us. There must have been an accident- my vision suddenly distorted. Like a broken TV screen... an ear-bleeding sound ringed in my ears. I stood frozen in my place and shook my head to shake off the odd buzz in my head- but it wouldn't go away. The sound grew louder... slowly... I turned to look at Taehyung...
"Taehyung..." I whispered... squinting my eyes at him- suddenly, everything went out of focus. Taehyung turned towards me in confusion. Flash. The rooftop view was suddenly replaced by a dark alley... a man was standing before me with a dagger gripped tightly in his hand. The ringing in my ears grew so loud- I had to cover my ears and shook my head in distress. What on earth...?! I looked up again to find the man breathing heavily. He was tall... looming over me with his burning red eyes... the ground suddenly tilted- making me stumble to the sides, but I didn't fall. Flash. I turned to find the man raising the dagger over me... my heart raced in fear, but I couldn't scream or move. I tried to stare at the man, but my vision became distorted once again... all I could see was a massive dark shadow hovering over me. Suddenly, there was a terrifying scream... flashes of light flickered in my vision, and BANG BANG BANG!
I screwed my eyes shut again and covered my ears in fear. Why does it feel like time is frozen...? Another flash of vision went by, and I was staring at the guy- hugging another person... pools of blood were spreading across the dark alley's ground. I couldn't hear anything but my own unsteady breathing... my vision became distorted over and over again the more I tried to grasp the situation. I hastily rubbed my eyes when I felt something warm on my hand... trembling... I lowered my hands to find... n-no. I fell onto my knees... tearfully staring at my blood-stained hands. What did I do...? What did I do...? Just then, I felt a sharp pain in my head. It was so painful I screamed my lungs out and grabbed my head in distress... the tire screeching sound went off again and again... flashes of blinding lights... a man looming over me... screechings... BANG... blood spilling everywhere... the screeching of the car's tire went off again except... it grew louder. I felt as if my head was going to explode from the immense pressure of the distorted visions and stabbing pain thundering in my head... AHHHH... MY HEAD HURTS-
"SORA!" Taehyung's voice echoed loudly. My vision steadily became clear again, and my heart was pounding in fear. I was bawling my eyes out as Taehyung loomed over me. I glanced around in panic while sobbing like a madman.
The alley disappeared... I'm back in the garden. I frantically turned to look at Taehyung with my eyes bulging open in fear... tears flowing heavily down my cheeks as I tried to process my thoughts. Taehyung looked confused and scared at the same time. I wanted to tell him what I saw... I wanted to scream, but I couldn't find my voice. What was that...? Sora... What on earth just happened? What is it...? Am I going crazy? I clenched my hands tightly and sobbed in distress. Why am I feeling the pain... Why...?
