With the cold wind blowing through the trees, the two women advanced deeper into the forest. Tsubaki Gojo walked with the same nonchalance that characterized her, while Angel, now freed, tried to hide the mix of confusion and determination on her face. The weight of her mission was immense, but her hands still trembled slightly from the recent confrontation with her past and the new pact she had just sealed.
As they went deeper into the forest, the silence between them was only interrupted by the crunch of dry leaves under their feet. The mention of Sukuna and the name "Kenjaku" echoed in Angel's mind, but her main focus was clear: The Fallen One. She had been chasing him for years, her hatred fueled by the suffering he caused in her homeland. Still, the strange feeling of walking alongside Tsubaki, someone so powerful and enigmatic, stirred a new uncertainty in her heart.
Finally, the density of the forest began to dissipate, and in front of them, a clearing revealed a small abandoned village. The houses were in ruins, with visible marks of lightning burning the wood and the ground. It was evident that the "cursed spirit" had passed through there recently.
"This is it," Tsubaki said, with a slight smile as she observed the destruction. "It seems that our mission is something more than a simple exorcism."
"It doesn't seem to be that complicated," Angel replied, her eyes fixed on the burned footprints. Her mind tried to read the pattern of the attacks, but something inside her told her that there was more than met the eye.
"It is always what it seems, until it isn't," Tsubaki replied, her tone playful.
Suddenly, the air was charged with electricity. The sky, which until recently had been clear, began to cloud over. Heavy, black clouds swirled over the village in a matter of seconds, and a loud humming sound filled the air.
"It seems our 'yellow rat' is nearby," Tsubaki said as her eyes flashed, ready for any eventuality.
Angel stood on guard. She could sense a strange presence, but something didn't add up. It wasn't a common cursed spirit. The energy emanating from the being in question didn't resemble that of the curses she was used to.
"There!" Angel exclaimed, pointing to the edge of the clearing.
From the shadows emerged a creature that defied any logical explanation. It wasn't a cursed spirit like the ones she had faced before. In front of them, a short yellow figure, with red cheeks that emitted electric sparks, appeared walking on all fours. Its round, dark eyes watched the two sorceresses with a mixture of curiosity and anger.
"Is that the 'rat'?" Angel asked in disbelief, as the electric sparks intensified around the creature.
"Yeah, it seems that way," Tsubaki replied with a mischievous grin. "Though it seems that this 'rat' has some power behind it."
The creature let out a high-pitched shriek, and before they could react, a bolt of lightning shot out from its cheeks, splitting the air at an impressive speed. Angel, despite his experience, barely managed to dodge it, feeling the scorching heat of the lightning pass close to his face.
"It's not a common cursed spirit," Angel growled, as he summoned his jujutsu energy to prepare for combat.
"No, but that makes it more interesting, don't you think?" said Tsubaki, who seemed to be enjoying the challenge.
The yellow creature launched itself into the attack again, firing multiple bolts in all directions. The ground and trees began to burn, the environment filled with a dense mist of smoke and electricity. Tsubaki, with her Limitless Technique, blocked every bolt of lightning that came near her position, as she watched Angel adjust to combat.
"Come on, Angel, I want to see what you're capable of. This is your first mission as a jujutsu sorceress," Tsubaki said, taunting her.
Focused, Angel raised her hands and whispered an incantation. Cursed energy began to flow around her, forming a protective barrier as she prepared for a direct attack. Her eyes flashed with a restrained anger, remembering why she was here. If she could defeat this creature, she would prove her worth and be one step closer to facing The Fallen One.
With a battle cry, Angel ran towards the creature, dodging the bolts it threw with an agility that surprised even Tsubaki. The girl focused all her energy into a well-aimed strike, her hands glowing with a cursed aura as she reached the creature and launched a direct attack.
(Extinguishing Technique)
The impact of the Extinguishing Technique resounded in the air, and for an instant, the battlefield fell silent. Angel breathed heavily, watching as the creature, a being supposedly composed of dark, malevolent energy,The creature fell to the ground with a thunderous thud. The cursed aura surrounding her hands was slowly fading, but she still felt the power vibrating within her, fueled by anger and determination.
However, the creature was not entirely defeated. Despite the damage it had received, its body began to rebuild itself. The scattered fragments of its cursed flesh slowly came together, regenerating through the reverse cursed technique. The deep wounds on its skin were closing at an alarming speed, but something had changed: its ability to generate lightning had been completely nullified by Angel's attack.
Tsubaki, who had been watching from a distance, cautiously approached. Her gaze met Angel's, and at that moment, they both knew the battle was not over yet.
"You've weakened him, but he's not finished," Tsubaki muttered, tensing her own spiritual power.
Cursed Technique Reversal: Red
The resulting explosion lit up the clearing, sending out a shockwave that sent the two sorceresses reeling back. When the dust cleared, the creature lay motionless on the ground, its body still crackling with the last vestiges of electricity.
"Well done," Tsubaki said, smiling in approval as she approached the creature's body. "Though I don't think this will be the last we see of these 'anomalies.'"
Angel, panting, looked at Tsubaki.
"What was that thing?" she asked, still shocked by what they had just faced.
"That, my dear Angel, is something that even we don't fully understand," Tsubaki replied, looking out at the horizon with a thoughtful expression. "But one thing is clear: not something created by the negativity of this world. And if there are more like it, we'll have our work cut out for us."
Angel, still recovering, looked up at the dark sky and quietly replied,
"This is just the beginning. The Fallen One awaits me… and I do not intend to fail."
With one last glance at the fallen creature, the two sorceresses set out on their way back, knowing that their mission had just become even more complicated.
