The young masters and young lady

Wearing the new maid outfit and eating breakfast consisting of bread and soup, I followed Alfred to the inner part of the mansion, looking at the sun I estimated it to be around 9 am.

Many maids were cleaning the hallway, and tending to the garden, and butlers were tending to the farm outback, giving me a general layout of the mansion.

Finally, we arrived at an open field, a tree stood with bushes covering the fence wall, with the young masters and the young lady doing what they did yesterday.

"Ahem, young masters, I would like to introduce you to your new personal maid" Alfred grabbed all of their attention and they simultaneously turned to me.

'Right leg to the back with both bending outward, slightly bending my body downward and grabbing the hem of my dress' Thanks to my past life I memorized how to greet people respectfully in the old medieval times.

Of course for research purposes and not for anything else.

"I greet young masters and lady, I will be attending to your needs"

All of their reaction was varied.

The youngest girl with golden hair who was reading a book was happy and greeted back with a bright smile.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Aida Firehearth"

The boy who seems to be the eldest of the siblings smiled amusingly.

"My name is Ekhar Firehearth, I expect you'll be there when we need you"

The last and second eldest simply stared at me with disinterest.

"And my little brother's name is Bale Firehearth, sorry for his quietness, he doesn't like to talk too much" Ekhar rubbed his head but Bale slapped it away.

'Interesting bunch'

"I hope to be of use to you," I said back and the two young masters went back to sparring with their wooden swords.

"Hey, come here," Aida said to me and patted the ground beside her.

Walking to her I sat next to her.

"So, what's your name?" Her smile was very bright it was almost blinding.

'I might need glasses if I want to be even near her'

"My name is Red" She expresses confusion by the name.

"Red? Like the color, isn't that a bit boring?"

"Well my name is of no matter, it was given by my parents from birth and stayed till today"

We chit-chatted for a bit but noticing the young masters starting to sweat I excused myself to grab some towels and water.

"Young masters, I have prepared towels and water," I said once I saw the sparring come to an end.

"Oh, thanks!" Ekhar thanked me, Bale looked at me with a sharp gaze before drinking and wiping himself with a towel.

'Introverted or doesn't like me'

Bale looked at Aida and approached her.

"What are you reading" He showed interest in her activity, unlike me who was properly ignored.

'He hates me'

"Sorry if my little brother is like that, he just has a difficult time opening up to others" Ekhar came next to me and finished the rest of the water.

"I apologize if I made the second eldest young master feel uncomfortable, I shall take my leave if it makes him more comfortable" I turned to leave but felt a grab from my wrist.

"Don't leave, he's just like that, im sure if you stay longer he will trust you more" Ekhar smiled and I complied, silently watching from the sideline.

'Trust issue?'

In the Earl's office, Kendrick was sitting in his chair and looked at Alfred.

"So do you have any opinion upon the young girl, talk honestly" Kendrick of course was referring to Red.

"Her action so far proved to be hard to gauge, her eyes were constantly looking around, and from the rumors of the other servant, she scared 3 maids after they had tried to provoke her"

"Continue"

"Though from our investigation, she was a slum dweller, her mannerism so far mirrors that of a trained maid, or at least nothing like someone from the slum, even after a thorough investigation we only found that she is the daughter of a prostitute who left her with her father"

"Earl Kendrick, are you certain she is not a spy or an assassin" By this question Kendrick furrowed his burrow.

"Alfred, are you questioning my decision?" By this question, Alfred stayed steadfast and calmly replied.

"Yes Earl, for the safety of the young masters and young lady I want to be certain of their peaceful life within this mansion" At this reply the Earl smiled and tapped his eyes.

"I am certain of my judgment in her character, though she seems suspicious, her action so far is in the name of survival, though she could steal with her agile figure, she went to my presence and tried to find a stable job"

"every action she does will produce consequences, and she is smart enough to know that"

"But sir she stole a purse of Baron Bazan once"

"She only stole it because of his prejudice against the slum dwellers, and I'm sure you know this and the fact I hate Baron Bazan, hiring her is my way of saying thanks"

"Her action so far follows a moral compass, far from the dirty slum, she is a dirty ruby buried in the dirt"

"I see, I apologize for doubting your judgment sir, I will take any punishment as you see fit."

"No need to belittle yourself, I'm quite happy you are dedicated to the safety of my children, and honestly I pity that child's situation, im sure my wife will too."
