Chapter 22: The Win

Duncan arrived with the speed of lightning. Before the police had even escorted Leo away, I was already greeted by the figure of my exceptionally skilled lawyer at the hospital entrance.

He was the one to inform me before the police could utter a word. "Leo has violated the restraining order, which is a criminal offense. He will be arrested and face criminal charges."

The police officer overheard and corrected him. "It's potentially facing criminal charges."

Duncan expressed his gratitude for the officer's reminder, and when he turned to me, his eyebrows twitched ever so slightly. I understood his message instantly. For us, it was a certainty with a probability of one hundred percent because he was Duncan.

In reality, Duncan had been delivering documents to the courthouse and decided to drop by the hospital to check on my condition. Seeing that I was indeed fine, he was about to leave.
