Consequences

Sluggishly opening his eyes, Kariuki was met by the delicate face, that was somehow prettier than before, gazing back at him.

"How do you feel?" She asked straightening up her body.

"Like a truck just ran over me." struggling to sit up, he answered.

"I know the feeling, by the way, what's a truck?"

Seriously He stared at her with a blank face, before she revealed a smile.

"I'm joking, I'm joking, I've read about it on the web." She said, before her face turned serious."was it a success."

"This guy had a shitty life."

Her face brightening, she looked at him, before staring at the watch that was somehow in her skin.

"That was fast, we still have about ten minutes before anyone gets here."

"Good, cause this guy didn't know anything about this organisation, let alone the abilities."

"Yeah, I just recently looked at his files, and I was amazed at how long it took a for his genes to be reconstructed."

"I figured much, so what's the longest it's ever taken, excluding me that is?"

"Five and a half years."

"Does the period affect the overall strength?"

"Nothing noticeable as of yet."

Kariuki nodded in understanding, before continuing.

"From this guy's memories, I remember there only being twenty of us, did something change when he was unconscious?"

"A year after they begun their genetic modification, more and more people joined the organisation as it became more infamous."

By that time the isolation tanks were being improved, making the process shorter."

"Why is the organisation so against the so called Vexes?"

He'd wanted to ask that question since the moment he woke up. Throughout Cade's memories he couldn't find a single thing that would cause a fight between Vexes and humans, except from the word of mouth Cade heard, there really wasn't a thing that would trigger their hate, so why?

"You'll know soon enough."

*Knock knock*

With that, the ten minutes were up and a sudden rythmic knock resounded in the small room.

Kariuki didn't seem happy about it, after all there were many questions he wanted to ask, being a soldier, one of the many questions was about the chain of command in this organisation.

Not being that much in a hurry though, he accepted the little information he'd received, after all he wasn't planning on leaving this place and everything it stood for, before he could learn more about this world and get accustomed to this new body and the abilities it gained.

...

Coming through the door was the pink haired girl and one of the guys he remembered from Cade's memory.

She not at all like in his memories Kariuki lampooned as he gazed at the figure before him.

Her slim body, that was deftly defined under the blonze armour that clutched on to her body like a second skin, was well proportioned, her shoulder length pink hair grimmered in the light of the sun that had begun to rise, filtering through the small window. Her dark skin smooth and delicate like that of a new born, her eyes bright yellow same as his.

The woman before him looked a little over twenty, though her appearance couldn't fool Kariuki, from Cade's memories he knew in this century, looking old was a choice.

"You're awake."

Before he could finish gawking at her figure, Two appeared Infront of him in a blink of an eye, tightly hugging his medium sized body.

Being clutched in her arms, Kariuki couldn't help but remember the day's when he was considered a giant among men, now only a 5'8 guy, with a body of a twenty one year old, he signed, lightly tapping the beast woman who was now suffocating him.

"Oh sorry." Noticing this, Two let go of him, her face red as she scratched her head.

"Yeah no.. no problem." He answered gasping for air like a fish out of a tank.

"Who told you we needed help? Your only job there was to observe."

Having completely forgotten about the other guy she came in with, who was about 6'2, with a blue fade and yellow eyes. His masculine body and baby face screamed of a lady's man.

Kariuki was momentarily at a loss for words, he could still feel the anger Cade held towards the Vexes, making him irrational and thus causing him to act carelessly.

Looking at Eighty who had remained silent, he instantly frowned, he was no longer Kariuki, he was now Eleven, whether he liked it or not he had to assume his identity and all the things that came with it, one of them being the consequences for his irrationality.

"I thought you were losing, being a Reaper like both of you, I figured I could help." He didn't like this one bit, but for the sake of survival, he had to act like a fourteen year old.

Back in the isolation tanks, even if one aged the same, that couldn't have been said about their intellect.

Even though Cade was twenty one physically, he was still a fourteen year old mentally_atleast that's what everyone believed.

Kariuki was almost tempted to ask for the outcome of the battle, but with this atmosphere, he held back his curiosity to listen at his ruling. Although he didn't think the guy Infront of him had any authority over him considering his bronze armour, he still remained quet

"You'll have to talk with the commander and explain everything to him, and please try to be careful next time we don't wanna lose anyone else." The blue haired guy said, looking and sounding genuinely concerned about Eleven's well being.

What's up with this guy? Kariuki couldn't understand him at all, one second he looked furious and the next he's concerned. Maybe he's one of those guys who acts tough but are soft.

Kariuki stood up from the bed he had previously sat on, after he was almost suffocated, nodded at them before walking out of the room.

From Cade's memories he knew exactly where the commander's office was.
