Memories 3

"He look's young,"

Lined up all around the room were twenty floating stools, nineteen of them were currently occupied by teenagers raging between the ages of eighteen to twenty five.

Compared to Cade, who previously celebrated his fourteenth birthday, they all saw him as a kid.

He didn't care though, walking towards the empty seat that was close to the entrance, he sat down.

"So what's your story?" Staring curiously at Cade, a girl with pink hair and black eyes asked.

Cade meary stared back at her for a few seconds without answering, before gazing back at the entrance.

"Not much of a talker huh? That's fine." The lady nodded in understanding before continuing. "I'm here because I heard you can gain superpowers and become a hero, like in the movies."

Cade didn't really care about her life let alone her reason, but what did she mean by becoming a hero? wasn't she a little bit too old for that kind of thing. Looking at her she looked a little over twenty years, was she a kid with an overgrown body or what?

"I know what you're thinking, I'm too old for that kind of thing, but no matter what anyone says, I'm gonna be a hero someday."

Cade almost smiled at this, but who was he to tell her otherwise, he too had his priorities and he knew very well that some people would laugh hearing about it.

"Follow me."

Before he could finish his thought process, a guard in a silver armour ordered, to which everyone immediately stood up including Cade.

He still couldn't tell what planet he was transported to, but the anger he had towards Vexes couldn't allow him to be distracted.

Following the guard, the group was lead out through the laboratory to a room that looked excluded from all the other rooms.

In the room was a man who seemed to be tinkering with the isolation tanks that were all around the room.

The isolation tanks that looked big enough to fit two humans on each, were made of glass, with each having a numerical number fixed on top of them, that numbered from one to twenty.

Everything in this place looked to be too coincidental, from how everything was timed, that cade would arrive at the last minute of the same day the so called experiment were to commence, and the fact that there already was a place reserved for him.

Though Cade didn't pay attention to any of them.

"Oh! You're already here." Turning towards the group, the middle aged man who had his hair turning grey, said.

None of them answered and so he continued.

"Welcome to the first ever meta human organisation, you have the honour of being the first of the many to come, meta humans."

"What? I thought it was already tested and confirmed." A young man with a blue fade asked.

Cade was about to ask the same question, but it seemed he was a second too late.

"It has, but this is an improved version, that means you'll also be one of the first meta humans." The middle aged man said, not bothering to look at the young man, he walked towards the left corner where a big red button rested, pressing it, and immediately all the isolation tanks opened.

"Hop in, and know the number you choose will be your new name from now on."

The group looked hesitant at first, but that could not be said about Cade, who couldn't reason and was only driven by hate, he walked towards the tank that had eleven written on it, he always liked that number and he couldn't miss out on a chance to choose it as a name, and got in.

Seeing this, one by one everyone got in and immediately after all the tanks closed as they all lost consciousness.

.....

7 years later.

"So you're finally up?"

Floating directly above his face was the pink haired girl, who's eyes weren't their usual brown but instead a blight yellow.

Cade ignoring her like usual got off the tank, and stretched, felling like he had just been hit by a truck.

"I woke up before you."

Everyone can clearly see that Cade lampooned as he gazed around the room only to notice that everyone had already left.

The pink haired girl watched him for a minute before continuing.

"Seven years, I hear that's the longest it has ever taken to reconstruct someone's genes."

"Seven years?" Cade asked, shocked by that revelation.

"Ohh, so you can actually speak, and yes seven, it took me five for my genes to reconstruct." She said with a smile.

What the hell? You mean to tell me that I've been in this pond for seven years? No way Cade didn't expect it to take that long.

Looking at the girl infront of him.

"So you can fly without the x-42 or the g-4, huh?"

"Yeah, this is my ability, everyone gets one" she answered, floating around the room.

"How did you figure out your ability?"

"Well I guess everyone figure's it out as time goes by."

"It's time for briefing, you should join us " looking at her watch, she flew towards the door.

Cade didn't know what she meant, he just followed.

Going through the laboratory that was busy as always, the pink haired girl flew towards the door that was opposite the room they had previously waited in, and opened it.

A blinding light flushed, which Cade took time adjusting to, before stepping out.

"Ohohoho, he finally wakes up."

Standing on a field of grass, which was quite rare, the man who he had met back on earth said, clapping his hands.

The group from before stood Infront of the man all dressed in blonze skin tight armours.

"And where's your uniform Two?"

"Sorry sir, I went to check up on him and didn't notice the time." Joining the rest of the group that stood at attention, the pink haired lady said.

The man didn't pay her much attention as he looked towards Cade.

"Join them."

Cade didn't like orders, but he couldn't resist this one, walking towards the group he stood at attention.

"Today we raid Supercom."

Saying that no one spoke and so Cade decided to first observe the situation.

Receiving a bronze uniform, he joined them as they all moved out, using the blue circle, they teleported back to earth and went on to raid one of the biggest companies owned by the Vexes.

He couldn't have known that this was his first and last mission.

Arriving, they found two Vexes who guarded the company.

Cade had to stay back, being yet to adapt to his new strength, he only needed to observe.

Watching the fight unfold before his eyes he couldn't believe it, the Vexes were so much stronger than he could've expected, managing to corner the nineteen enhanced individuals.

Cade couldn't just sit back and watch this happen, and so driven by anger and hate,he joined the battle, believing that they needed his help, which ultimately cost him his life.
