CHALLENGES AND CHANGES

As soon as Emily left for college, Morgan applied for the same college, hoping to get accepted this time. Morgan worked different jobs, to make extra money for her mum's heart surgery, and at the same time trying to save for college. Since her drug dependent father used, all the money they had saved up for her college on drugs, leaving them in debts. Morgan had to work three jobs on weekdays and two on weekends.

After nine months of unwavering commitment, Morgan finally had more than enough money to pay for her mom's heart surgery and a new house, far away from her father and closer to the hospital, the next month, Morgan's application got approved, leaving her a few months to spend with her mother before leaving for college. The day she received the email from the college, she called her best friend Emily and told her about it, which made the younger happy for her best.

Morgan worked day and night to make enough money to hire a nurse who could help take care of her mom as her mother aged and grew more frail. The strain of juggling multiple jobs and preparing for college took a toll on Morgan, but she remained steadfast in her determination.

One evening, as Morgan returned home exhausted from another long shift, she found her mother sitting quietly in the living room. Her mother looked up and gave Morgan a weak smile, her eyes filled with gratitude and love.

"Mom, I got into college," Morgan said softly, trying to contain her excitement.

Her mother reached out and held her hand. "I knew you could do it, sweetheart. You've always been so strong."

With tears in her eyes, Morgan hugged her mother tightly. "I promise, Mom, I'll make sure you're well taken care of. I'll study hard and make you proud."

The next few months flew by, and soon it was time for Morgan to leave for college. She packed her bags, taking care to include a few cherished mementos from home. Before she left, she sat with her mother and the nurse who would be looking after her.

"I'll call every day," Morgan assured her mother. "And I'll visit as often as I can."

Her mother nodded, tears of pride glistening in her eyes. "Go chase your dreams, Morgan. I'll be right here, cheering you on."

As Morgan stood at the doorstep, ready to leave, she took one last look at her home and her mother. She knew that the journey ahead would be challenging, but with the support of her mother and the memories they shared, she felt ready to face anything.

College life was demanding, but Morgan thrived. She excelled in her classes and dedicated herself to volunteering at a local shelter. Rather than making friends, Morgan's priority was ensuring that Emily remained isolated from everyone else. Every weekend, she would visit her mother, sharing tales of her academic achievements

One day, as Morgan was preparing for her midterm exams, she received a call from the nurse. Her mother's health had taken a turn for the worse. Morgan rushed home, her heart pounding with fear and worry.

When she arrived, she found her mother resting peacefully, but her condition had visibly deteriorated. Morgan sat by her side, holding her hand and talking to her about everything that had happened at college. Her mother listened, a faint smile on her lips, and Morgan could see the pride in her eyes.

"I love you, Mom," Morgan whispered. "Thank you for everything."

Her mother squeezed her hand gently. "I love you too, Morgan. Always remember, you have the strength to achieve anything you set your mind to."

With a soft shake of her head Morgan acknowledged the heartbreaking truth that her mother's days were numbered.

A few days later, Morgan's mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. Morgan was heartbroken, her world shattered by the loss. The grief was overwhelming, and she couldn't bring herself to focus on her studies. She decided to take a few weeks off from college to grieve properly and come to terms with her mother's passing. During this time, Morgan stayed at home, surrounded by memories of her mother, finding comfort in the little things that reminded her of their bond.

After a grueling month, Morgan finally dragged herself back to college, only to discover that Emily had a boyfriend, which made her blood boil with anger and jealousy, she had hoped that after all this time, she would have a chance to confess her feelings to Emily. But seeing Emily so happy with someone else shattered her hopes.

Morgan tried to focus on her classes, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Emily and her boyfriend. She couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy and hate towards Emily's boyfriend. How could Emily not see that she loves her. As days passed, Morgan's feelings of resentment grew stronger, she couldn't stand seeing Emily with him. The idea of them being together drove her to the brink of madness.

One evening, Morgan found herself at a shop near campus, trying to drown her anger in cup of steamy hot chocolate. As she stared blankly out the window,a plan began to form in her mind. A plan to get rid of Emily's boyfriend, once and for all.

Morgan started following Emily's boyfriend, studying his routines and habits. She learned his schedule, where he live, and where he liked to hang out. She was meticulous ensuring that no one would suspect her.

After a week of careful planning, Morgan decided it was time to act . One night, she waited in the shadows outside his apartment. As he approached the building, she stepped out,her face concealed by a hood. "Hey" she called out,her voice steady and cold as ice,he turned surprised to see her,"uhhh do I know you??".

Without a word, Morgan lunged at him, striking him with a heavy wrench she had hidden in her coat. He crumpled to the ground, stunned but not unconscious. Morgan quickly dragged his body into a nearby alley her heart pounding with fear and excitement. In the dark alley, she worked swiftly and brutally. She knelt beside him and pulled out a pair of pliers, grabbing his tongue and yanking it out of his mouth with all her strength. Blood sprayed everywhere as he screamed in agony.

Morgan felt no remorse. She was driven by a dark rage. She pulled out a knife and began slashing at his body, leaving deep, jagged wounds. His screams echoed through the night, but no one came to his rescue. She didn't stop. Morgan grabbed a hammer and began smashing his fingers and toes, breaking bones with each sickening blow. She watched as his body convulsed in pain, his eyes wide with terror.

Finally, she decided to end it. She picked up the heavy wrench and and brought it down on his skull repeatedly until he lay still, his face unrecognizable and covered in blood. Morgan stood up, panting, covered in blood herself. She felt a twisted sense of satisfaction. She had finally removed the obstacle standing between her and Emily, and she had no regrets.

She cleaned up the scene meticulously, using gloves and techniques to erase any traces of her presence. She knew the police would eventually find his mutilated body sooner or later, but she was confident they wouldn't trace it back to her. The next day, the campus was abuzz with the news of his gruesome murder. Emily was devastated, and Morgan did her best to comfort her, playing the role of the supportive friend.

As the weeks turned into months, the police investigation stalled, and life slowly returned to normal. Emily never suspected that her best friend was responsible for her boyfriends horrific death. Morgan, meanwhile, felt nothing but a cold, twisted satisfaction. She had eliminated her competition, and had no regrets.
