DREAMS COME TRUE 1

The next day which was a Sunday, Damilola, her brother and mother went to church. After they got back, Seyi rested a bit and went to work. Sundays are Damilola's favourite days to read, because it is a resting day, so she studied after she got back from church.

The next day Damilola is seen returning from school with her friend Bisi Ademoye.

BISI:(Angrily) Me, I'm tired of this school oh, what kind of nonsense school is this. We go to school by 8 and close by 2 and only one teacher teaches us the whole day

DAMILOLA: I'm also frustrated, but what other option do we have, it's the only affordable school for us.

BISI: Umh...., poverty is really a bad thing. Really, really bad. Had it been there was money, you would've gone to that your dream school, that rich people school.

DAMILOLA: What of you, won't you go?

BISI: I'm not even thinking of school, all I want is to make money. Money is my number one priority after God. If you go to that school, your dream of being a doctor will come true.

DAMILOLA: Unfortunately, till money comes, we'll have to stick to this nonsense school. (Bisi laughs and they headed home).

IN THE SHOP

Damilola enters her mother's shop.

DAMILOLA: Mummy good afternoon.

MRS BIMBO: Damilola you're back, did you see the food I covered in the kitchen for you?

DAMILOLA: Yes mummy.

MRS BIMBO: Okay, you know today is Monday, so take vegetables to Mrs Bolaji's house.

DAMILOLA: Okay Mummy (Mrs Bimbo packed vegetables and gives it to Dami with her transport money and she headed to Mrs Bolaji's house).

MRS BOLAJI'S HOUSE

Damilola walks to the gate, after coming out of the taxi she boarded, she knocks the gate, then the gateman Segun opened it.

SEGUN:(Smiles) Dami, Dami (he hailed) Come inside.

DAMILOLA:(Walks inside) Good afternoon Segun, is Mrs Bolaji inside?

SEGUN: Yes, she's inside, come with me, let me take you to her

DAMILOLA:(Smiles) Thank you (Segun takes her into the sitting room where Mrs Bolaji was sorted watching the news) Good afternoon ma.

MRS BOLAJI:(Smiles) Dami, you're here.

DAMILOLA: Yes ma.

MRS BOLAJI: How is your mother?

DAMILOLA: She's fine ma.

MRS BOLAJI: Send my regards to her okay?

DAMILOLA: I will ma.

MRS BOLAJI:(Calls) Folake!! (The maid runs in).

MAID: Yes ma.

MRS BOLAJI: Take the vegetables from Dami, watch them and put them in the refrigerator.

MAID: Okay ma (She takes the vegetables from Dami).

MRS BOLAJI: Dami, sit, while I go get the money okay?

DAMILOLA: No problem ma (Dami sat down on the couch while Mrs Bolaji went upstairs to bring the money. Mrs Bolaji returned and Dami quickly stood up).

MRS BOLAJI: Here (she gives Damilola the money) I added an extra one thousand naira for you.

DAMILOLA:(Smiles) Thank you very much ma (Mrs Bolaji smiles) Ma please send my regards to Amanda when she returns from school.

MRS BOLAJI: I will.
