DREAMS COME TRUE 2

Days past and the Ayomide's continued their daily activities, but Damilola didn't know her life will take a new turn soon.

SATURDAY

Saturday, another market day, it was as busy as usual, Mrs Bimbo packed vegetables to Dami to Mrs Bolaji's house. They supply vegetables to Mrs Bolaji every Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays. Dami took the vegetables to Mrs Bolaji's house. She see's Amanda, Mrs Bolaji's daughter.

DAMILOLA:(Smiles) Amanda!

AMANDA:(Smiles back) Dami! (Still smiling) What's up, it's been a while.

DAMILOLA: Yeah, it's because it's a school period. I came to deliver vegetables.

AMANDA: Okay (Amanda takes the bag from Dami) let me quickly go drop this, don't go anywhere, we have a lot to catch up on.

DAMILOLA:(Giggles) Okay (Amanda goes inside with the vegetable, while Dami sat down on the chair next to Amanda's. Amanda came out with a small tray containing two glass cups, one bottle of wine and a plate containing cookies. She sits down, opens the time and pour it in both cups).

AMANDA: Please have some.

DAMILOLA:(Smiles) Thank you.

AMANDA: You're welcome, so tell me how have you been?

DAMILOLA: I've been good, you know, normal school and market wahala.

AMANDA:(Smiles) What's your dream Dami, what do you want to be in future?

DAMILOLA: I want to be a doctor, a medical doctor.

AMANDA:(Smiles) Umh ..., interesting, why?

DAMILOLA: I just love their work, saving lives and restoring hope (smiles) I love it

AMANDA:(Smiles) Awwn...

DAMILOLA: Yeah, I wanna be someone of value to the country, that's why I want to be a medical doctor.

AMANDA: That's amazing, with how intelligent you are, I'm 100% sure you can accomplish it.

DAMILOLA:(Frown) Unfortunately, my school does not have the capacity to make that dream if mine come true

AMANDA: Why?

DAMILOLA: It's a messed up school, teachers just come to school to date. We go to school from morning till 2:00pm, and sometimes no teachers enters the class.

AMANDA: Then how come you're this intelligent?

DAMILOLA: I study on my own at home. Fortunately for me, I have all my complete text (she takes her cup of wine and drinks from it).

AMANDA: Then come to our school (Dami spits the content of wine from her mouth).

DAMILOLA: What did you just say?

AMANDA: I said come to my school, you can achieve your dream of becoming a medical doctor in my school.

DAMILOLA: Kings and Queens High?

AMANDA:(Smiles) Yeah, that's my school.

DAMILOLA: Amanda, I'd really love to go to K&Q high, but that school is way past my league. It's not a school for people like me, it's for rich kids, like you.

AMANDA: K&Q high is for everyone, it's just that some people don't have enough capacity to take their kids

DAMILOLA: I'm part of the category, my mum's still trying to make ends meet, telling her I want to go to K&Q high will break her.

AMANDA: You can still go, there's an opportunity.

DAMILOLA: What opportunity?

AMANDA: There's a scholarship exam, coming up in two weeks, if you pass, you'll gain a free scholarship to K&Q high. Till you graduate, you won't have to pay a dime.

DAMILOLA: Wow....(Smiles) That's a great opportunity.

AMANDA: I know right, all you have to do is get the form, study and ace the exams.

DAMILOLA: So, the form, like how much are we talking about?

AMANDA: It's quite expensive, 50 thousand naira.

DAMILOLA:(Shocked) Whow.....

AMANDA: Don't worry, I'll talk to my mum, and she'll get it for you. You know how she likes you(smiles) telling me how hardworking you are as if I don't know (Dami smiles, she hugs Amanda).

DAMILOLA: Thank you so much, Amanda, You're the best.(She says with teary eyes).

AMANDA: Come on..., what are friends for, besides, having you in my school will be my biggest accomplishment (Dami smiles).

DAMILOLA: Thank you very much, I'll forever be grateful.

AMANDA: You're welcome, all you have to is read, read and read, you have to ace the exams. If you don't get the scholarship I'll be broken for life.

DAMILOLA: Don't worry, I won't let you down (smiles, Amanda smiles back).

AMANDA:(Takes her glass cup) Cheers to you passing that exams.

DAMILOLA:(Smiles) Cheers!
