Why only 17 chapters?

I thought about this at the beginning when I was outlining the pace of the story for the second book. I wanted to start with a baseline for the first book as a parody to the original book 1 of Harry Potter.

I like the limit number of chapters to be 17 for a volume a part of a collection. It's a short one and done story. Not to long and not to short. I had thought to add on more chapters to mimick the order in which JK Rowling expected the reading pace of the story as her world unfolded but then I realized that doesn't work for James Potter's world.

The world of JP is a straight on action story that moves. Every chapter something is happening. There will be a surprise and from book one to thr last book it's a ride baby.

However, I want to give the reader a rest period so each volume has a limit of 17 chapters. You can think of it as a ordering style of a Manga I.e. One Piece, DragonBall etc.

I want the reader to enjoy the ride. Enjoy the characters and be locked into the adventure. There is a splash of romance, a spice of comedy and a shot of Jack Daniels for action.

This is James Potter.
