The Core

Ron walked around the second floor of the library with Ava beside him trying to convince him to convince James to not name the Wesley Empire of Wonders.

James lay back in his chair with a book and Mara sitting on his reading over his shoulder on the ground floor of the library. When then heard a strange sound begin from somewhere in the center of the room.

"What is that sound? Are you crafting something new already." Mara asked.

James shook his head. "Nope." He said shaking his head. "I'm not the one doing anything. The building is still going through generation." James said introspectively as he got up from his seat and started looking around.

James listened intently at the same he held out his hand searching for something around the ground floor of the Wesley Library. Mara followed him silently watching him with a smile on her face at the same both Ava and Ron hurried down stairs to investigate what James attempting to do or find.

James frowned in frustration. "Where are you?" He finally almost to himself.

"Your trying to find the source to the sound?" Ron asked.

James nodded. "Yep. It's pretty close. But, I'm trouble finding it by ear and feeling. Listen up for it. Tell me when I'm getting close."

"James! What are you looking for? Is it an animal or a power source to the sound?"

James bit his lower lip. "I'm thinking it's some type of power source or magical energy. Don't know why it would be here but we might as well find it so we can catalogue it for the records. Mr. Wesley-"

"Call me Ron. What's up? You have another question I'm sure. Why do have to ask people questions just to make something in Hawks Landing?" Ron asked in confusion.

James held up a finger. "Give a second. I think. I found it." He said his hand started to glow a pale blue hue color. He stood in the middle of the library. He looked up frowning. "Hmm." He said.

"What is wrong?" Ava asked in concern. "Is it dangerous?"

James shook his head. "Nope. It's pretty big though. Ron. What is strangest place you been?" He asked carefully.

"That's an odd question. I'll answer it but you have to answer my question afterwards. I haven't been to any place I would consider odd well. This place would rank up as the only place I would call odd." Ron said and then smiled. Ava noticed it.

"What are you thinking about?" Ava asked.

Ron shook his head. "James has to answer my question next."

James nodded. "Remind me again."

"Of course. Why do you need to ask all these weird questions of people just to make something in Hawks Landing?"

James chuckled quietly as he ran his glowing hand around the source to the buzzing and turning sound of energy in the room. "That all seems pretty obvious at least to me but let's see. I don't have the ability to simply create what I want. My specialty here is to guiding things along in the process."

Ron snapped his fingers. "A Maestro."

James grinned. "What do you mean?"

"You know like a Conductor in an orchestra of musicians." Ron said. "Your guiding things along to their natural flow using the talents of the musicians around you or geniuses like myself who do all the work."

"What on earth are you talking about?" Ava said looking at Ron shaking her head at him in awe.

"I think I'm making perfectly perfect sense. Point in fact I am a genius that made Wesley Empire of Wonders."

James grinned. "I like you. I like your form of thinking. That is the best explanation I've heard from anyone. You are spot on. I think I'll use that explanation from now on."

Ron nodded. "So what's your next question so you can continue on with the concert?"

"Water! Fire! Wind! Ground! Which one do you choose?" James asked.

Ron tapped his chin looking up at the ceiling in deep thought. "Hmm. This is a great weird question. What should I choose. Damn. Can I choose more then one?"

James frowned. "Sure!? I'm not sure two or three will work out at the same time. But it's your library so you can make it out to be what you want provided the foundation does give out under us."

"You will choose no more then one of the chooses my son has given you." Ava told him pointedly pointing a finger at him. "Have I made myself clear. No matter what you may or may not think you are not in charge here. My son is."

Ron nodded and pointed his finger at her. "Now. I know who you remind me of. You talk just like my great Aunty Hermiona. She's always on my ass about such and such."

"Thank you for the compliment. Now stop being smart ass and choose." Ava said smartly.

"Your welcome. I choose. Water magic mixed with Wind." Ron said with a grin.

Ava stared at him as the library began to shake. "Damn you!"

James started laughing. "Alright. Everybody hold tight. We're going into phase two right now!" He said before a large spinning column of water and electrical energy launched up from the floor.

"Shit!" James said he began struggling to contain the energy. "Come on your not getting away from m. Come on! Hold it to together damn you." He grimaced as he wrestled with the power in of the column of magical energy.

Mara hurried his side taking out his wand and handing it to him before going taking out her own wand and aiming it at the column. "Containium Controllo." She spoke. Her wand fired off a white energy at the column as it started to morph out of control.

James nodded to her. "That's my girl. Brilliant as always. Keep just like that."

"James how long do we need to hold it together until you've locked in the form of your creation." Mara asked as sweat poured down her face and she grimaced trying to hold the form of the column in straight up position.

"We just need to hold it together as it being formed for a few minutes. We got this. We got this. Containium Controllo!"

Ava took a position at the column and raised her wand. "Containium Controllo!" She said. The wand blasted energy into column locking in the form of the energy. She focused on the column glaring at it. "Mr. Wesley would could use your help."

"Ah! Not sure what I can do here!" Ron said honestly.

"Ron!" James said. "Can you fly up to the top and seal the hole in the roof of the core it made it to keep it inside. We have to contain it in the library." He said.

Ron tapped his wand to his long jacket and jumped up flying up toward the ceiling of the library. He arrived to the top where the column had made giant hole in the ceiling and floated taking out his wand and took aim.

"Colloportus!" He roared at the hole making a giant lock and seal for the tall column of energy that was now in the library.

The shaking in the room started to slow. James studied the column and then put away his wand and began focusing on containing the shape of column with the rings on his hands.

"James!" Mara called to him.

James nodded. "Pull back. I got it.!" He said.

Mara and Ava dropped to the floor shaking after losing energy and shaking.

James kept on his feet only turning and moving a little using hand signs and rings to keep the form. Ron came down and sat on the floor with the others and shook his head up at James as he stood calmly controlling the form of the column.

"How long do you have to keep working with controlling the column?" Ron asked.

James frowned. "I'm going to be here for a bit. Mara got get something to eat with mother and bring me and Ron something to eat."

Ava sighed shaking her head at him. "How are you doing?"

James shrugged. "I'm doing alright. Could use something to eat. I can maintain it long for enough for a bit. In the mean time, Ron can ask me some questions while your away." He said calmly. "Go on."

Ava nodded. "Mara bring us some food from the tower but be sure to eat first before you use apparition before you get back." She said giving Mara small nod and look.

Mara nodded her head. "I won't be long. I'll bring back some sandwiches." She said and then disappeared.

James nodded to Ron. "You have questions for me about Hawks Landing? Please ask your questions." He said.

Ron nodded his head slowly still sitting on the floor and took out his notepad before. "I have a great many questions for you. "Are you really going to name this Library the wonderful name The Wesley Empire of Wonders?"

James smiled but shook his head. "No. I think the Wesley Library would be more fitting to the fact this is in fact a library created by a Wesley. Sorry."

Ron sighed. "I had high hopes but the Wesley Library sounds like a good enough name to me. I suppose."
