Deception and Misdirection

James was sitting down at the floor of the library reading a book on A history of magical inventions. Both Ron and Ava were now both examining and taking notes on the magical column that stood tall and imposing on in the middle of the ground floor of the Wesley Library.

Dago and Mara appeared finally with a picnic basket of lunch. James didn't look up but immediately. "Hey. Guys. Oh. Mara. I forgot to mention something. Could you bring me a spare notebook and pencil?"

"You beautiful brilliant asshole!" Dago said quickly walking toward the column and stared at it. He shook his head a looking the magical wonder that stood in the middle of the middle of the room.

James looked up to see Mara holding out a notebook and sharp pencil for him to use. He nodded his thanks to her. "Thank you, love."

Mara stared at him and then she smiled. "Your welcome honey."

James looked down at his notebook and began to record his thoughts and the events of what happened that day. He started writing feeling eyes glance down at what he was writing.

"The Core. Is that what your going to call the big glowing thing?" Ron asked looking over James shoulder to read his notes.

James grinned but he nodded his head in acknowledgement. "Yes. I'm just trying to go with names that best fit the purpose of the construct created."

"Purpose? Wait a bit. Aren't I the bloke that made this big glowing thing. Shouldn't I be the one to name it? You've got to at least give a chance to name one of these things in here."

James paused in his notes. "The library is named after your house and you will be credited in the historical records as the creator. What would you name the the core. Give me a more fitting name?"

"The tower of supreme Wesley. No. The Wesley column of power." Ron said looking up at the seeing with a far off look in his eyes.

"Okay what does that mean about the nature of the tower or the purpose of it's possible use?" James asked.

Ron shrugged. "Don't know. I just think it would be a totally brilliant idea to see in the history books or at least something funny for me to look back on fondly." He said in a deeply serious note.

James looked up at Ava to see her looking at Ron with a look of bewildered open expression her mouth wide open. "Mother what do you think of the idea?" He asked her.

Ava blinked and looked at James grinning face. She narrowed her eyes at him. "Oh I see your using this silly man to have a good laugh at your poor old mother, huh?"

"Of course he is." Ron said. "What good is it in life being so serious all the damned time. Anyway. Seriously though James why did you think of the core. What does that name denote the nature of this giant big glowing thingy?"

James suppressed a chuckle as Ava's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I would wager a bet that you have read every book in this library at least once."

Ron frowned in surprised. "How the hell would know that?"

James held up the book he had been reading for Ron to look at the title on the spine. Ron stared and then smiled nodding. "Yeah. That's a good one. Didn't do me a hell of a lot of good but it was a fun little read."

"Wait a second." Ava said rushing over to a near by bookshelf she removed two books and showed them to Ron. Ron's eyes widened as he stared at the books.

"Bloody hell. Yeah. I remember these. I read them one I was maybe twenty-two on holiday in Germany." He said in a whisper and then he looked around his eyes widening and then he smiled. "Bloody hell!" He snorted in laughter and looked at James' pleased face. "You are a brilliant wizard mate. You are going to be more famous then your ancestor. How did you do this?"

James shook his head. "Never mind that. You asked about The Core's name invention or purpose. Let me give you a visual aid." He said turned toward him sitting on the ground and held his hands apart from each other and then a glowing ball of fire, water and lightning appeared hovering between his hands. The ball moved in a clock wise rotation.

"This is my core. The body of my knowledge skills and the nature of my being. That which I have gained learned and invented this is a reflection of not only me but the magi, wizardry and seed of my Wusixa training I have begun with my father's private instructions. The Core is a reflection of all your knowledge from the centuries of knowledge passed down to you and your own knowledge and creativity fostered into one source or The Core of the Wesleys." James said.

Ron stared at him. "Your trying to tell me that big glowing thingy is from my mind mate?"

"Yes." James said.

Ron shook his head. "Think your blowing smoke up my ass mate to distract me from concluding you made this whole damn library."

"You don't believe me? I'm telling you the truth." James said frowning.

Ron snorted and shook his head. "No I don't believe you but you are a good bloke to lead me on like have that. I appreciate the struck to my ego."

"I agree with Mr. Wesley." Ava said and took a seat in front of James staring at the spinning ball of energy that hovered between James hands. "Are you saying the core is like a transference of collect though and magical energy through a collective bridge of time from the past to the present?" Ava asked and held her hand out toward the globe of energy but she didn't touch it.

"Yes. Of course." James said with a nod and then he smiled. "I knew you would understand."

Ron turned to Mara. "What the hell? Can you translate please?"

Mara smiled. "James used your experiences to make a The Core is a big book or comprehensive collection of books."

Ron smiled nodding his head. He looked at Dago to see him staring at him oddly. "Why the hell are you looking at me like that?"

"Did you really think for a second you really made this library?"

Ron flushed heatedly and pulled at his shirt collar. "No. I thought is was all good joke of course. All the same are we still keeping the name of the library Wesley?"

"Of course. You created the Wesley Library. It's only right your accredited with the honor. You created a special place." James.

"Bloody hell!" Ava said.

Mara laughed out loud and Dago stared at Ron. "Damn, bro. Just Damn."

Ron sighed and held out his hand to Mara. "Can I have a sandwich, please."

Mara smiled and reached inside the basket to reach over and hand him a beef sandwich. He took a bite from it and he nodded his head. "Good sandwich."

"Thank you." Mara said.

"Your welcome. James. I got a question." Ron asked.

"You can ask me anything?" James said and dropped his hands and the globe of energy disappeared.

"That core you were holding in your hands. Was that a representation or was it a direction example?"

James sighed. "I told you it is a direct example of my core." He said.

Ron nodded dropping the sandwich and then James core appeared over his hand. Ava, Dago and Mara were up with their wands pointed at Ron as he backed a little.

James was still on the floor sitting in a lotus position. His hands were in his lap in a hand position. He stared up at Ron. "Don't you think my core is a bit small compared to the one you made."

Ron smiled. "True but your Core is a lot more interesting elements then the big thingy here and yours has elements of the far eastern wizards secret magic spells in it. I'm just going to borrow it for a bit."

"He is the son of Angus Potter, Mate." Dago said. "Your only putting yourself in the eyes of the dragon taking his son's core."

Ron grimaced but nodded. "Yeah. But it will be worth getting my ass handed to me to find out how powerful his son is and what Angus learned from the far east."

"Were you really trying to kill me when you stabbed me with the sword of Gryffindor? You best to return it to Hogwarts before Professor Longbottom gets annoyed." James asked.

Ron nodded. "Oh yeah. I'm going to annoy a lot of people after today. You'll forgive me after today right? You seem like a nice bloke after all. You don't seem to be that all upset."

James shrugged. "Why should I be? I never believed or regarded as a friend. You did stab me in the chest for whatever stupid reason you came here to do what you did. I don't give a damn. You tried to kill me." He said and then shook his head. "You know my dad is going to come for you and whoever sent you. He's coming for you. Thanks for all the help in creating the Wesley Library. I appreciate it and I will add your name as it's creator. You can leave now." He said smiling giving him a wink.

Ron snorted. "Yeah. Thanks for the core. Tell your father I'll be waiting." He said and disappeared.

Ava screamed in frustration and looked at James. "Damn it, James. How could let him go like that?"

James shook his head. "Damn Gryffindors. There always so damn stupidly predicable?"
