Dago's Snitch

James finished his breakfast at the same time Angus finally arrived. Ava took the breakfast tray away. James set up in bed taking his wand in hand.

"How's it going on out there?" He asked calmly.

Angus frowned looking around and then back at James. "It going fine."

James raised his eyebrows. Angus laughed. "None of our people are down for the count and we got a three new volunteer wizards to act as guards to give the rest of us rest between exchanging guard duty. What are you fixing to making son?"

James shook his head. "Nothing yet. I'm just going to get down my ideas on paper then bouncing them off of Dago to see what to weed out before I do anything else." He said as his staff appeared resting on his lap.

Everyone froze as James picked up and he stood the staff straight up on the floor beside his bed. The staff stood straight up with leaning or being assisted while James took his wand in hand. James spun the wand in his hand while he stared at nothing with a far off look on his face.

"James are you alright?" Angus asked.

"I'm fine dad. Just give a minute. I'm thinking about how to form my thoughts properly."

"Angus!" Ava said putting a finger to her lips. Angus frowned but he nodded his head.

"James I'm ready when ever your ready. Just start talking and I'll get down everything you have on your mind." Mara said.

James rocked back and forth and spun his wand in his hand. "(A)Modification to sword protection charm created by Dago Malfoy. 1. Combination spell of shield spell and reflecting spells. 2. Place song charm on to sword that will amplify the energy core. 3. (B) Advance research into a forge using power core. Utilizing it to forge and create advanced resources. (C) Increasing magical levels project. 1. Strengthening spell toward Dago's power core. 2. Herbal source research between earth realm and sky realm with in Hawks Landing. Max out by twenty." He said paused still spinning his wand in his hand.

Mara pursed her lips. "James. What is the spell blueprint that can be formulated. Can you give me an example that I can scratch out along side the notes you have spoken out for me to write."

James shook his head. "I'll try I don't know if you'll understand though. I'll use mist in combination with spells that already exist. Write down the list of the names for the spells we used during lock down. I'll have to craft the spell song. Once I sing the spell it will come to life and form with in the matrix of energy here. Have you got that down."

"I got it all down. I'm sorry I interrupted you. Do want to go on?"

James frowned but he nodded his head. "No. Pause it right here. I have to talk with Dago." He said and reached for his staff. He got out of bed and appeared in the library next to Dago who was staring at his white board at a spell. "What's on your mind?"

Dago jumped violently and stared at him. James smiled. "Sorry bro. I was interested in what you were doing?" He said leaning against his staff.

Dago exhaled and rolled his shoulders. "Okay. Have a look then. I'm working on a warning system for enemies. The magical mirrors are working to alert us when they come in but there is a bit of a few minutes delay in the image getting to us."

Angus appeared in the library walking up to James as he stared at the spells. "James."

James held up a finger. "Give me a second dad. I'm trying to figure something out." He said tapping his index finger to his chin and staring at the lines of magical spells.

Angus folded his arms across his chest. "What are you doing now?"

James shrugged. "I am just looking at Dago's work. He said wanted my opinions on it."

"Right. What is this song spell magic you kept referring to?" Angus asked.

"Magi magic. River Song gave me my first lesson recently on it. I'm still learning. It's form of positive energy and creation magic. I've added it to the Hawks Landing with a creative twist of my own creation and magic." He said and frowned. "Dago. I think this is good bro. It's brilliant as always. I don't think it needs anything added on my part." He said stepping away and turning to Dago who was regarding with a frown.

"I need your help though. I need you to draw it out." Dago said and then held up a hand. "Humor me. I've been working a lot and I'm bit tired." He said smiling.

James blinked and nodded his head. "Sure. What form would like your warning system to take?" He asked.

Dago rubbed his head. "Ah. Hmm. I need something fast that can fly around without being caught and capture footage without being seen as well. You can make it a bird maybe or something still small enough not to be seen." He said and then looked up to see James grinning.

"Yeah. I think I got where your thinking is going. It's that wicked." James said and turned his head to the whiteboard and touched his staff to the text.

The text turned blue and floated off the whiteboard and stood in mid air. "Dago. Hold out your hand." James commanded in echoing voice.

Dago's brows rose as he held out his hand. The words and wards flew toward Dago and started circulating around his open palm into a ball and storm of energy. "James!"

James held up a hand. "Close your eyes and I want you to remember the last game you played at school."

Dago closed his eyes frowning and then a slow smile spread on his lips. The storm of words became smaller and smaller until it was a small silver blue ball wings hovering over his hand.

Angus snorted in laughter smacking his son's shoulder. "Hot damn son. You made a snitch."

James shook his head. "Not me. Dago did."

Dago opened his eyes and stared at the silver blue snitch in hovering over his hand as it's wings flapped. He smiled at it. "Alright. Get to work." He told the snitch. The snitch flew away disappearing out of the library.

James turned toward the core to look at the hovering magic mirror images started to change rapidly as it showed images around Hawks Landing.

Dago came to stand beside him. James put an arm around his shoulder. "What are you going to name it bro? The Malfoy. Dago's eye. Your a damned genius bro."

"We're bloody genius's mate. It's going to take the entire damned wizardry world a life time to catch up with us." Dago said sitting his chest with a grim look on his face.

"It is what is bro. It's to damn easy. History in the making. Oh." James said and then turned to Angus was staring at them in with a shaky grin. "Dad you had wanted to talk about something?" He said.

Angus smiled. "Yeah. Mara wanted to come get you to help to sort out things with your notes and plan out which one of your notes left your wand again." He said.

James nodded and turned appearing before Mara. She jumped back nearly falling down the stairs but he reached out and caught her around the waist. "Sorry. Dad said you wanted to talk about the notes I gave you."

Mara pursed her lips and stared at him. "Yeah. I did." She said.

James drew her closer and smiled. "Let's talk then." He said and led the way toward their apartment. Ava was reading through his notes in his leather bound notebook. Her eyes were wide when she saw him coming with with Mara.

James took a seat at his desk a set his staff straight up next to him. "Okay. So let's sort through the notes." He said holding his hand his wand flew into his grasp.

Mara cleared her throat. "Yes. We were wondering about your strategies for planning out the details your laid out." She said.

Angus appeared and took a seat in the circle of their family. James frowned shaking his head. "I don't have any plans. Those were simple ideas that I needed to take down to make sure I would have them on hand if Dago needed them for his work or dad needed a strengthening to the protection of Hawks Landing. I have no immediate plans. There just ideas. What else?"

Ava snorted smiling at him. "We like your strategies and ideas sound are grand. We want to pursue them. The forge ideas also sound interesting as well for making weapons or magical items. Isn't that what you thought of the purpose for the forge?" She said.

James shrugged. "I wasn't thinking of the forge for simply weapons. Would be a bit odd to do so sense the core is a power unit of knowledge and magical energy. I was looking to possibly create as I said before the purpose would be to create advanced resources for Hawks Landings such the empowerment and betterment of the people that will come here."

"James is that-" Angus spoke but paused and he did not continue. There was a continuous silence.

James frowned and looked at him. Angus was frozen in place. "Dad. Dad are you alright?" He asked but got no response. He felt it then a heavy tiredness in the air but as he took hold of his staff he felt his mind came back into focus.

"Sleeping spell!" James spoke on a whisper. He realized it was the one attack he had not been expecting or knew it would come to him. He had not accounted for in all his thoughts and plans. It was a huge mistake.
