Dreams

James came to himself as felt a mind reaching out to him before he fell into a vision of someone else's imagination. He was in memory that was used as place holder in the other mind for them to have a conversation.

It had finally come the time for him to finally meet the man that had been larking in the shadows for over thirty plus years.

"James. It is time we met." A dark figure spoke in the dark room seated in a leather armchair facing a fireplace with deep raging red and black flames.

James couldn't see the man only feel his power and control in holding him to the vision. He shook his head. "Not really. I'm not interested anymore."

The dark figured chuckled lightly. "Angry at me now. For what? We are similar kinds of men."

James shook his head. "I'm not angry. You chose to be my enemy before I was born. It was always going to come to this. I did tell your servant to tell you the simply fact. Leave me and my people alone. That is all I want from you."

"I'm offering you my hand. I can give you-"

"Nothing." James said calmly.

"What?!"

James nodded his head. "You can't give me anything. You're only talking now. So you have little interest to me beyond getting you to have less interest in me and what I have got going on. But that is besides the point. Again you've killed many of my family members. It has now come down me and my father. Haven't you gotten you fill of killing Potters?" James said calmly.

"Would it surprise you if I told you to know that I've offered my hand to many of family. The ones from my world and yours. Not all of them turned away from me as you were led on to believe. I'm offering you my hand now. Make of it what good will you can for the world." The figure said.

James stared at him. "Nothing your saying is at all surprising to me. It's just strange to me why you have such an interest in someone so small as myself." He said.

The dark figure lifted his gloved hand shaking a finger at James. "James I have to much respect for you to call you anything but small. Angus was the first to change course and become some different then his forefathers and brothers. You are the result of that change. An heir to the man that came from the mist."

James grunted folding his arms across his chest. "You say those words like they are supposed to mean something to me. Why haven't you attacked my father yet? You been a bit slow moving in that sphere."

"Angus is obvious and he knows his limits and he has no interest in rising past serving Cole. A pity really. He is a simple knight to a king powerful then he is. You on the other are different." The dark figure said introspectively.

James shook his head. "You make to much more of me then what I am. I am young magi wizard nothing more at present."

"I wonder about that. If you had the chose in your first year to join Gryffindor or any other house would you have."

James rolled his eyes. "Distractions is it?"

"Excuse me?!"

"You're asking me a ridiculously stupid question to get me distracted from the fact your invading my mind to take control of me. I'm not important. You should set your focus on my father. I do not care about the past. I care about power and protecting those loyal to me. I don't care about ruling the damn world. You digging for secrets." James said.

"James I don't care about your secrets. I know everything. I've known everything sense the moment you studied the sky realm and realised what you could use Hawks Landing for and then created the constructs. I listened when you talked with your teacher and she taught you the legend of Marlin the man of the mists." The dark figure said in a whispering voice.

James frowned at him. "I didn't create the mist and I am not trying to become the next Marlin." He said.

"Now your full of shit Mr. Potter. You have high ambitions James. I know the signs. I had high ambitions when I was your age as well. Yes I think you will do well as a President of the congress of wizards." The dark figure said and chuckled lightly.

"True. But, I haven't proven myself enough yet. I'm still young." He said and then frowned. "Who are you? I thought you were the one my grandpa Harry was chasing but now I'm not sure. This meetings is to weird. You don't feel like an enemy at all or it might just mean I'm just as evil as you are."

"Your doing to much overthinking James. This is just a conversation. Trust yourself. Don't restrain yourself. Lean into your ability. Lean into the power of the mist and keep creating wanders in Hawks Landing."

"Who are you?" James asked again. He felt chill go down his spine.

The dark figured waved away the comment. "It doesn't matter. Get some sleep James and don't worry about people invading your mind so much. Just concentrate on being who are and creating new wonders for the world to enjoy." He said and then snapped his fingers.

James fell back into a deep sleep. His mind knew nothing. When he finally opened his eyes. Angus and Ava were staring down at him. He smiled at them feeling rested.

"Hello. Wait a minute what time is it? I got to get to work." He asked and started to get up but Angus pushed him back down onto the bed.

Angus smiled. "Rest. A bit. Mara is making your breakfast. I'll take care of your dreams."

James relaxed back in his bed. "Where's Dago? At the library?" He asked and yawned.

Angus frowned but he nodded. "Dago is pulling over time but he's doing great work keeping safe guards in your place. Your still tired?"

James shrugged. "I'll rest when we finally get past the second stage. The third stage will be a breeze."

Angus looked up when cracks of lighting where in the sky. "Keep him in bed a bit more." He said before disappearing.

Ava rested her hands on James' shoulders. "Dago told us the reason you locked down Hawks Landing was so you could sleep. You've slept for eleven hours straight."

James smiled. "Yeah. That sounds about right."

Ava sighed. "Okay. I'm thankful that I could help you get you the rest you needed."

James gave her a look. "Stop. I-"

Ava put a finger to his lips gentle pushing him back down to the bed. "You've been using a lot of energy creating the wonders around us. A lot of energy." She said.

"I've got breakfast." Mara said from the open door way of James and Mara's apartment open door way.

Mara stood dressed in jade green dress and a break tray of two whole sausages, scrambled eggs and baked beans with a side of bread. She smiled bringing the breakfast tray over and setting it on his lap as she exchanged places with Ava.

"Good morning, Love and thank you." James said as he picked up a fork and started digging into his breakfast.

"Good afternoon, Honey and your welcome." Mara said.

James snorted as he began eating quickly. "I guess I over slept a bit huh?"

Mara nodded. "Yeah. But, Dad said you would wake up soon. You just needed your sleep. Dago is really impressive right now. You're going to proud of him. He's putting the sword copies spell to good use for the library-"

James froze. "Wicked!" He said staring into space for a five minutes as ideas came at him. He was shaking his head as he thought of ideas and shook off ideas.

Mara held up a hand when Ava was about to say something. She smiled as she watched him debating ideas with himself.

James blinked shaking himself out of it his ideas to look at Mara. "Wait what did he do? Give me all the details." He said grinning and started stuffing his mouth filled with food.

Mara smiled slowly. "Probably not as much ideas as you've just thought about for five minutes. He's using the copies of the sword to reflect spells and strengthen the shields around the buildings."

James smiled. "My bro is flexing. I like it." He said and forked more food into his mouth. "I need a notebook." He said.

Mara nodded. "I'll get you one. You don't have to get up." She said and got up to go over to stack of leather-bound books on a bookshelf near the wall.

Ava studied James silently. James raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

Ava shook her head. "Can you wait a little later until your father returns to use more of your energy?"

James nodded. "As you wish? I just need to write down some ideas I can throw at Dago to see what he thinks." He said smiling.

Mara came over with two large notebooks. She opened one and took out a glowing pen and waited as she held it over the page. "When you finish eating I can begin writing for you."

James smiled and nodding and dug into his breakfast with enthusiasm. He kept moving with energy excitement at the ideas. He glanced at Ava to see her staring at him smiling. He chuckled. "What? You keep grinning at me like you know a secret."

Ava shook her head. "No. I can't wait to see you what your creating in your head."
