Gilg smirked, his eyes glinting with a mischievous light. "I'll teach you everything you need to know," he promised.

A week passed since that fateful day at the WRA Company. I had undergone intensive training with my newfound family, honing my physical abilities and learning to control my burgeoning powers. Now, it was time for my first mission.
Under the cover of darkness, I stood on the rooftop of a neighboring building, my eyes fixed on Asmar's house. The sleek structure gleamed in the moonlight, a stark reminder of the corruption and evil that lurked within.
Ngiiik!
A soft beep sounded in my ear, signaling an incoming transmission. I pulled out the earpiece Dove had given me and put it in.
"Connection 1 affirmation!" a robotic voice announced.
I turned down the volume and spoke into the mic. "Connected."
"Good! Now, just stay calm and wait until midnight. Make sure the guards are not around, okay?" Dove's voice came through the earpiece, clear and confident.
I nodded, even though she couldn't see me.
Dove and Gilg were monitoring me remotely from a nearby apartment, their screens displaying live feeds from the hacked security cameras around Asmar's property.
"So, do you think he's ready?" Gilg asked, his voice laced with a hint of doubt.
Dove nodded. "He's only been training for a week, but he's a fast learner."
She picked up a microphone from the table and spoke into it. "Xian, our mission is to steal Asmar's money. Can you repeat that?"
I repeated her words, my voice echoing in the silent rooftop. "Our mission is to steal Asmar's money."
Tak! Tak! The sound of footsteps echoed.
"Xian, relax, Don't be so tense. Just take it slow."
I looked around, surprised to see Yolan standing beside me, her tall figure barely visible in the darkness. "Where are the others?" I asked.
"It's just the two of us on this mission. Now, let's wait. I'll open the door remotely, and then you can sneak into the basement and find the money, okay?"
I nodded, my heart pounding with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
Time seemed to slow down as we waited for the opportune moment. The silence of the night was broken only by the chirping of crickets and the occasional distant bark of a dog. Yolan stood beside me, her eyes closed in concentration as she focused her powers on the door to Asmar's house.
After what felt like an eternity, I heard a faint click from the direction of the house.
"It's open, Go now." Yolan whispered, her eyes still closed.
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. I took a deep breath, summoning all my courage, and silently climbed down from the rooftop. The shadows were my allies, concealing my movements as I crept towards the house.
The front door creaked open, and I slipped inside, my senses on high alert. The house was dark and silent, the only sound the ticking of a grandfather clock in the hallway. I followed Yolan's instructions, heading towards the basement door.
As I descended the stairs, the air grew colder, the darkness closing in around me. I could feel a presence, a malevolent energy that seemed to emanate from the depths of the basement. I hesitated for a moment, my hand hovering over the doorknob.
Don't be afraid, You are not alone.
Yolan's voice whispered in my ear.
I took a deep breath and pushed open the door, steeling myself for whatever lay ahead.
We cautiously made our way down the creaking basement stairs, the only sound our own hushed breaths and the occasional creak of a floorboard.
"This way," I whispered, leading the group towards a door at the far end of the dimly lit space.
Yolan nodded silently, her eyes scanning the room for potential hazards.
I reached for the doorknob and turned it slowly. The door swung open, revealing a small, cluttered room filled with filing cabinets and stacks of paper.
"Jackpot," Yolan muttered, her eyes widening as she took in the sight. She raised a hand towards the piles of documents. "I'll make these smaller so we can carry them out."
Before she touched the papers, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small piece of leather. With a flick of her wrist, it transformed into a large, sturdy bag.
As Yolan began shrinking the documents, my eyes scanned the room, taking in the details. A glint of metal caught my attention, and I walked towards a small safe tucked away in the corner.
I noticed a stack of black credit cards and other debit cards lying on top of the safe.
I should take these too, I thought, quickly stuffing them into my pocket. As I continued searching, I discovered a stack of uncashed checks.
"Whatever this is, I'm taking it," I muttered to myself, grabbing the checks and adding them to my growing collection of evidence.
"Xian, look for an outlet you can use to charge your phone," Gilg's voice whispered in my earpiece.
I nodded silently and began scanning the room, my eyes darting from one corner to another. Yolan was still busy shrinking the piles of documents, oblivious to our conversation.
In a back room, I spotted a workbench cluttered with tools—saws, hammers, screwdrivers—a testament to the DIY nature of their operation.
I quickly located an outlet and plugged in my old spare phone, its battery nearly drained. The device was slow and outdated, but it was enough to run the script Gilg had prepared.
This is going to take some time.
I thought to myself as I opened the console and began typing the commands. The phone lagged with every keystroke, the screen flickering ominously.
Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Gilg had shifted his focus to the CCTV feed of Asmar's bedroom. The corrupt officer was sound asleep, his chest rising and falling rhythmically.
"If Xian manages to cause a power outage, Asmar will likely get up and try to fix the electricity from the outside breaker box. That's when he needs to sneak into Asmar's room and find something," Gilg explained to Dove,
