Ex Member of the Seers

The Guardian rose from the rubble, its form flickering with renewed energy. "Weave Beat..." it growled, its voice resonating with an otherworldly power.

Dug! Dug! Dug! A pulsating rhythm filled the air, causing everyone's hearts to pound painfully in their chests. The sensation was agonizing, like an invisible force squeezing their very souls.

IM clutched his chest, his face contorted in pain. Lili, too, doubled over, her hands pressed against her ears as if to block out the relentless beat.

On the hallway, I walked back towards the room, determined to help IM and ensure he wasn't in mortal danger. Though I didn't know if my Harbinger could even die...

I can feel a surge of power coming from that hallway, I thought, quickening my pace.

As I approached the room, the pulsating rhythm grew louder, the air vibrating with an oppressive energy. I braced myself, knowing that whatever lay ahead would be a formidable challenge.

I reached the hallway, my eyes widening at the sight before me. The guardian spirit loomed over IM and Lili, its form pulsating with the rhythm of the Weave Beat. IM was on his knees, his face pale and his body trembling. Lili lay crumpled on the floor, unconscious.

"IM!" I shouted, my voice filled with concern.

"Xian! Kill that Guardian! It's creating a Weave Beat that'll make your heart explode!" he yelled, his voice strained with pain.

Without hesitation, I unleashed my imagination, envisioning a surge of raw power.

Boom! The Guardian exploded into countless fragments.

The sudden silence was deafening. The oppressive rhythm vanished, and the air cleared, leaving behind only a faint, lingering echo of the guardian's energy. IM collapsed to the ground, his body still trembling from the aftereffects of the Weave Beat.

I rushed to his side, kneeling beside him. "IM, are you okay?" I asked, my voice filled with concern.

He groaned, slowly opening his eyes. "Yeah... I'll be fine," he mumbled, his voice weak. "That was... intense."

I helped him sit up, my gaze shifting to Lili, who remained unconscious on the floor. "We need to get her out of here," I said, my voice urgent.

IM nodded, his strength slowly returning. He carefully scooped Lili into his arms, her limp form cradled against his chest.

We made our way back to the secret chamber, where the Seers were still reeling from the sudden disappearance of their guardian. They looked up in alarm as we entered, their faces etched with fear and confusion.

"You... you killed WB?" Boss Sam stammered, his voice barely a whisper.

I met his gaze, my own eyes burning with determination. "We won't let you hurt our friends," I declared. "Or anyone else, for that matter."

The Seers exchanged nervous glances, their confidence shattered. They had underestimated us, and now they were paying the price.

"Retreat!" Boss Sam ordered, his voice filled with desperation.

The Seers scrambled to obey, disappearing into the shadows of the chamber. We didn't pursue them, knowing that they were no longer an immediate threat.

We left the hidden chamber, carrying Lili back to the surface. As we emerged into the cool night air, I couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph. We had faced another challenge, overcome another obstacle, and protected those in need.

Lili opened her eyes, finding herself in an unfamiliar room. She sat up, taking in her surroundings with a puzzled expression.

"...Huh?" she muttered, her voice raspy from disuse.

The room was dimly lit, with soft, warm colors adorning the walls. A comfortable-looking bed occupied one corner, and a plush armchair sat beside a window overlooking a peaceful garden. The air was filled with the subtle scent of lavender, creating a calming atmosphere.

Lili cautiously stood up, her bare feet sinking into the plush carpet. She walked towards the window, peering out at the unfamiliar scenery. The garden was meticulously manicured, with vibrant flowers and a small, gurgling fountain. It was a stark contrast to the dark, oppressive environments she was accustomed to.

"Where am I?" she whispered to herself, her voice laced with apprehension.

Just then, the door creaked open, and a familiar figure stepped into the room. It was Dove, a warm smile gracing her lips.

"Good morning, Lili," she greeted softly. "How are you feeling?"

Lili turned to face her, surprise etched on her features. "Who are you...?"

"I'm Domura Dove, the owner of WRA Company and also... an Unveiled."

Unveiled... is she... one of the same descendants of my ancestor...? Lili thought, a flicker of curiosity sparking in her eyes.

"Last night, my team brought you to the company, and you were unconscious," Dove began to explain gently. "They said it was because of a Seer's Guardian."

Lili couldn't remember the exact details, but it sounded plausible. She nodded slowly.

"...Also, I heard from Xian that you might be trying to run away from the Seer organization since you're one of our bloodline, aren't you?" Dove asked, her gaze piercing.

Xian... who the hell is Xian...? Lili wondered, confusion clouding her thoughts.

With a heavy sigh, she nodded. "Yes, I wanted to run away from them...."

"Also, last night... we were actually spying on them, and we heard that the Seer organization wanted to abandon you just because you're weak, and one of your friends is in jail," Dove added, her voice filled with a mixture of sympathy and anger.

Lili's heart sank. She had always known that her usefulness to the Seers was limited, but hearing them so casually dismiss her life felt like a punch to the gut. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she quickly blinked them away. She wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing her weakness.

Dove reached out and gently placed a hand on Lili's shoulder. "You don't have to go back to them, Lili," she said, her voice kind and reassuring. "You're safe here. We can protect you."

Lili looked up at Dove, her eyes filled with a mixture of hope and disbelief. "Really?" she whispered.

Dove nodded. "Of course. You're one of us now, Lili. And we take care of our own."

A wave of relief washed over Lili, and she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. They streamed down her cheeks as she finally allowed herself to feel the vulnerability she had suppressed for so long.

Dove pulled her into a warm embrace, letting Lili cry freely. "It's okay," she whispered. "You're safe now."

As Lili sobbed into Dove's shoulder, a newfound sense of belonging began to blossom within her. She had been alone for so long, trapped in a world of shadows and deceit. But now, she had found a family, a place where she could be herself, without fear or judgment.

"Also... how old are you?" Dove asked, her voice gentle.

"I'm almost 20... I just turned 19 last month," Lili replied, wiping away her tears.

"Oh, congratulations! I thought you were younger," Dove said with a warm smile.

"Thank you..." Lili mumbled, a small smile gracing her lips.

"You have beautiful long hair. Do you go to the salon every week?" Dove inquired, trying to lighten the mood.

She nodded shyly.

"Do you have a home?" Dove asked gently.

Lili shook her head, her smile fading. "I only live at our base... I've never had a real home."

Dove's expression softened. "Then how about you live here? But you'll have to do something in return."

Lili tilted her head, curious.

"Work with us," Dove explained. "With your power, we can bring down the Seers."

Lili's eyes widened in surprise. "Work with you? Just that... you guys don't need anything else from me, right?" she asked hesitantly.

Dove nodded, "This house I bought is specifically for you. Take care of the bills? Don't worry, I'll also give you money every month," she reassured Lili.

Dove took out her small bag and handed an envelope to Lili. "Here's for this month."

Lili took the envelope and peeked inside. It was filled with red banknotes, signifying a large sum of money. Her jaw dropped in disbelief. She used to work for the Seers but had never received this much money.

"This... this is too much," Lili stammered, her voice filled with disbelief. "I can't accept this."

Dove smiled warmly. "Consider it an advance payment for your services. We believe in you, Lili. You have the potential to be a valuable asset to our team."

Lili looked up at Dove, her eyes glistening with tears. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I won't let you down."

Dove nodded, her smile widening. "I know you won't."

With a newfound sense of purpose and a place to call home, Lili embarked on a new chapter of her life. She had left the darkness of the Seers behind, choosing instead to embrace the light and fight for a better future alongside her newfound family. The path ahead was uncertain, filled with challenges and dangers, but Lili was ready to face them head-on. She was no longer a pawn in someone else's game; she was a hero in her own right, and she was determined to make a difference in the world.

"So what should I do?" Lili asked, her eyes filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

Dove got up and opened her phone. "It's easy. You'll go with Xian and the others... and be a hero for the city."

Hero...? Lili was confused.

Dove showed her phone, displaying a social media page with a video.

The video was a commercial for the heroes, featuring Xian, IM, and Yolan in their suits and masks, showcasing their powers in a series of dramatic action sequences.

"A hero..." Lili whispered, her eyes widening in realization.

A sense of wonder washed over Lili as she watched the video. She had always dreamed of using her powers for good, of being a hero like the ones she had seen in movies and comic books. Now, that dream seemed within reach.

"But... I don't know how to fight," she admitted hesitantly. "Like... your friends..."
