Chapter 7 – A Strange Girl [2]

"What an unreasonable girl." He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "Very well, you can have this sword. If you can take it from me."

Kiara blinked in surprise at his answer, "Ah? Wait, you are not joking right? You really mean that?"

"Yes, I am not joking." He nodded his head. "If you can take this sword from me, then it's yours."

She looked at him warily, "Well, it's not like I will let you keep it forever anyway." She raised her wooden sword and assumed a stance, "Don't regret this, Vale Gilstar. I am the strong-"

"Say that again?" Vale's voice came from behind her, his sword was drawn next to her next.

Cold sweat poured out of Kiara's body as she realized what just happened. Vale had moved at a speed that she couldn't even react to. Even she didn't have such speed earlier when fighting the demon.

'What just...' She looked at the shining blade next to her neck and swallowed a mouthful of saliva. 'This is bad. This guy is not a joke. He is not human.'

Her instincts told her that unless she was lucky enough to land a surprise attack on him, she wouldn't be able to beat him in a fight. Not in this condition anyway.

"You're fast." She gritted her teeth, "Well, fine. You have the right to call me a beginner. What's that, by the way? A teleportation skill?"

"Just a martial art." He answered lightly as he sheathed his sword again. "Something called Ground Shrink. Quite useful for sneaking up on people, no?"

"Tch, fine, I admit defeat." She sighed and dropped her wooden sword, "I have to admit that you are stronger than me."

"Right? So, we can have a nice chat while waiting for midnight."

"Huh? Midnight?"

"Yup. Time is still around 9 pm. I... am interested in your passion with sword. Maybe we can get to know each other better." He smiled at her. "I also can teach you a thing or two about swordsmanship."

He wasn't lying. Because he had become Vale Gilstar, the Sword Demon, he took an interest in anything related to 'sword'.

Covering a sword with Mana was something that he had never seen or even written before. Mana was usually used for 'Magic', but Kiara used it to make her wooden sword sharper and more durable. That was something new for him.

Not to mention she had a skill that allowed her to use a sword technique, guiding her body forcefully to execute a powerful slash like earlier.

Vale hoped that they could have a nice conversation about their passion. As for him, he was more interested in swords and Martial Arts than anything else, as his passion was his novel's character. He was planning to test some swordsmanship techniques in this apocalypse as well.

"If we're talking, then how about we head to the restaurant? There should be meals there." Kiara suggested as she picked up her wooden sword again. She sounded slightly excited when he mentioned talking about swords.

Vale agreed and he followed her toward the tunnel leading to the restaurant.

The night of Apocalypse was long. And the more interesting thing would come tomorrow or later on. But for now, he would take his time to know about the sword-obsessed girl in front of him. This was also his chance to find out about other people's system better.

Arriving at the restaurant, Kiara went straight to the kitchen and rummaged the fridge. Vale sat on a table and waited for her.

"Found them!" She cheered as she carried a few cans of soft drinks and chips back to the table. "We'll eat these first and talk about swords! Man, I never thought that an apocalypse would happen and I would meet someone who also has the same passion as me! It's so cool!"

She talked nonstop and Vale only smiled and listened. It seemed that she was a little too excited and misunderstood something, but Vale didn't bother to correct her.

"Right, about your skill. Can you explain it to me if you don't mind?" He asked.

"Sure!" Kiara nodded her head. "It's called Skill: Quick Slash and Skill: Rising Slash. It works well with my own swordsmanship. And just as you said, my body moved by itself once I used the skill."

"Hmm, interesting. Is the bluish thing covering your wooden sword also a skill? Mana, right?" He tapped his chin lightly as he asked.

"Yeah, it's a skill called Mana Coat. It makes my wooden sword sharper and more durable when in use. It's an incredible skill if I have to say so myself."

"It is. Based on what I saw earlier, your wooden sword became as sharp as a normal sword. And that Mana Coat is interesting as well." Vale nodded his head. "However, it sounds like you didn't create that skill yourself. Did you get the skill from leveling up? I will share how my status looked like, can you share yours too?"

"Sure." Kiara explained about her status board to him.

Everything was the same except she had Mana and had no Qi. She also had Sword Skills instead of Personal Skills.

"I am now Level 24 after killing monsters all day. My Strength, Agility, and Intelligence are now around 50 with my Mana being the lowest at 26. My skills also have no level, I think the strength is directly related to my own. I get skills everytime I level up by 10. At first I only had a Mana Coat."

"It's roughly the same as me. But I have Personal Skills instead of Sword Skill. I also don't have a Mana or Mana Coat, only sword techniques."

Vale shared his own status board with Kiara, which was roughly the same. He didn't disclose all his information, only giving her a rough one to show that their status was indeed similar..

'Maybe because we're both specializing in swords and physical attack that we have a similar status. I wonder what Taylor and Jenny's status look like. And she leveled up from killing monsters, huh? I didn't level up even once. Maybe I am at Max Level already.'

He would ask them if he met them again in the future. And he hoped that he wasn't at Max Level. Getting stronger was fun. It was like playing a game.

Time passed with them talking about the apocalypse and ate. Both of them had killed many monsters and were tired.

"It's almost midnight." Vale said as he looked at the clock. It was past 11 pm now.
