Cleansing
"Please speak," Forseti said.
The old wizard pondered for a moment. "Our tribe has an outstanding warrior, Hyosgem, who went out hunting not long ago and was accidentally bitten by a snake. Although I tried my best, I still couldn't remove the snake venom from his body... Since the Light Spear Clan is proficient in medical magic, can I ask you to rescue our warrior?"
Forseti was stunned for a moment. "What kind of snake is so powerful?"
The old wizard sighed slightly. "The Hanji snake, one of the most dangerous poisonous snakes in the Nine Realms. Fortunately, he is strong; otherwise, he would have been poisoned and died before returning to the frost of jouthnheim."
He looked at Forseti again. "If he doesn't recover soon, he may fall into eternal sleep."
Forseti was silent for a moment.
When it comes to curing poison, he happens to have the fragments of cleansing spells in his possession, so it shouldn't be a big problem. However, using these fragments to save a frost giant made him hesitate.
After all, it seemed that the old wizard didn't have any doubts about him. He should be able to fool them without using the cleansing spell.
The old wizard said again, "Of course, our tribe will certainly thank you and the Light Spear Clan."
After a long while, Forseti finally nodded. "Okay, I can give it a try."
The old wizard smiled and got up. "Thank you so much. Since that's the case, let's go over now. The child is suffering from snake venom."
"Alright."
The two immediately walked back and forth. Not long after, they came to an igloo where a young man was lying on the bed with his eyes closed and his brows furrowed.
There were two people in the room who seemed to be the relatives of the poisoned young man. When the old wizard entered, they quickly got up. "Master Helbrindi."
The old wizard nodded and pointed at Forseti. "This is a guest from the Zandalari Light Spear Clan, Vol'jin."
"The Zandalari Light Spear Clan?" The two of them were puzzled.
The old wizard did not explain much. "Whether the poison of Hyosgem can be cured or not depends on Mr. Vol'jin."
When the two heard the words, they quickly showed respect to Forseti. After introducing themselves, they said, "Mr. Vol'jin, please!"
Forseti nodded. "I'll try."
As he said that, he walked to the bedside, pretended to look around, and his expression gradually became serious. "As expected, the poisoning is deep."
The three frost giants became nervous and quickly asked, "Can it be cured?"
Forseti said solemnly, "Frankly speaking, I only have a 30% certainty. Once the treatment fails, I might be affected, which could be life-threatening."
"This..." The three frost giants looked at each other.
The old wizard thought for a while and sighed. "If that's the case, then forget it. We don't want to risk our guest's life."
"No." Forseti waved his hand, his eyes firm. "You are the defenders of Jotunheim, the warriors. To save a frost giant is an honor for the Light Spear Clan. I'd like to try."
The three frost giants were moved, and the old wizard said, "Vol'jin, son of Sen'jin, you will be our eternal friend of the Ice-Shaping Tribe."
Forseti nodded solemnly, then looked at Hyosgem and said, "I'm going to start."
He then made up a set of prayer rituals. "Bwonsamdi, the god of life, please bless your Zandalar people and all good and righteous people..."
Forseti placed his hand on Hyosgem's chest.
Forseti shuddered and almost pulled his hand back. Although he appeared as an ice demon hunter, he was not an ice creature and was still affected by the icy power of the Frost Giant.
"What?" the old wizard said nervously.
"It's a strong poison," Forseti said, resisting the steady stream of icy power.
He immediately summoned the holy deed in his heart.
Cleanse!
The holy light was released in his hands, illuminating the entire room. All these gentle and bright holy lights poured into Hyosgem's body.
Forseti endured the icy cold on his hands and finally used a light spell. His hands shone like the sun for a moment, creating an amazing visual effect!
The magic of the Holy Light was gorgeous, and the three old wizards, having never seen such a scene, were moved and a little stunned.
After releasing the light spell, Forseti couldn't bear the icy power from Hyosgem any longer and quickly withdrew his hand.
His hands were trembling from the cold. Fortunately, the skin of the ice demon hunter was also ice blue, so there was nothing unusual on the surface.
"It should have succeeded," Forseti exhaled.
The effect of the cleansing spell was remarkable. Hyosgem's complexion quickly recovered to its normal ice blue, and the painful look gradually disappeared.
The three old wizards were surprised and happy. The two relatives of Hyosgem were especially excited and wept with joy.
The old wizard shook Forseti's hands excitedly. The power of ice cold on his body was even stronger, and Forseti was so frozen that his whole body trembled, cursing in his heart.
But he couldn't let go of his hand. He forced a smile. "I... I... I need to rest for a while..."
The old wizard was about to say some words of thanks, but seeing Forseti so weak, he had to put aside his plans. "Quickly arrange a comfortable room for Mr. Vol'jin to rest!"
Before Forseti left, the old wizard squeezed Forseti's hand tightly. "Thank you so much, Mr. Vol'jin!"
Forseti entered the room prepared for him by the Frost Giants, an igloo.
After closing the door, he quickly gave himself a cold-relieving agent, rubbed it on his hand, and released a faith-giving one, letting out a shivering breath.
Damn, I almost froze to death...
Forseti rested in the house for about ten hours when there was a knock on the door.
Knock, knock.
"Please come in."
It was the old wizard who came over in person, with a smile on his face. "Mr. Vol'jin, how are you resting?"
"Thank you for your hospitality. I think I will never forget it," Forseti said.
Old wizard: "Hyosgem has woken up. He wants to thank you in person. Please come with me."
Under the leadership of the old wizard, Forseti met Hyosgem who had woken up. Although he was awake, he was still very weak. He was half lying on the bed and thanked Forseti. "Thank you for saving my life."
Forseti replied politely, "It is an honor of the Light Spear Clan."
Hyosgem added, "I heard that you risked your life to save me. The Light Spear Clan is truly a kind and selfless race. Mr. Vol'jin, this is a small token of gratitude. Please accept it."
With that, a frost giant brought a long ice box and presented it to Forseti.
