Believe in the Holy Light

As Laufey appeared, Forseti remained vigilant while engaging Hyosgem in combat, cautious not to draw Laufey's attention.

Back in Asgard, Laufey had used the Casket of Ancient Winters against him, seeking revenge for his son, a debt that would be remembered for a lifetime.

Fortunately, following this conflict, according to the film's timeline, Asgard and Jotunheim would forge a peace treaty, preserving peace for centuries until Thor, the God of Thunder, would disrupt it.

Due to their long hibernation, Frost Giants lived far longer than Asgardians. However, even Laufey was aging; an elder among the Frost Giants.

In a millennium, Laufeywould likely be aged, yet still capable of defending himself... Forseti contemplated.

As he battled, he gradually led Hyosgem away from the primary battlefield, into a blind spot beyond Laufey's notice.

Forseti then allowed Venom to rejoin his form. A flash of golden light and he stood again at three meters tall.

First, he cast King's Blessing upon himself. Then, wielding Antusur's Hand and Rivendell's Sword in each hand, he launched dual strikes.

"Boom!"

Empowered by King's Blessing, the two strikes clashed violently, echoing like thunder.

Though Hyosgem blocked with his longsword, the force and stunning effect of the strikes overwhelmed him. His arm shook, and the sword slipped from his grasp, clattering to the frozen ground.

With panic evident, Hyosgem hurried to retrieve his weapon.

Forseti thrust his sword into the ground, channeling Holy Light into it.

Blinded without his white helmet, Hyosgem failed to see the Sword of Justice thrusting from below. He stumbled, his foot impaled.

"Ah!" He screamed, collapsing.

Forseti closed the gap with a single stride. Hammer and sword descended together, striking Hyosgem's head forcefully.

Reacting swiftly, Hyosgem dodged the fatal blow.

Forseti's weapons missed, striking the ground instead. A flare of light spread from the sword, Holy Light dedication covering the ground around them.

Hyosgem, now on the ground, was enveloped in Holy Light dedication. Smoke rose from his skin, his screams filled the air.

Forseti swiftly beheaded Hyosgem before turning to dispatch nearby Frost Giants, especially those most culpable.

According to the dictates of the Holy Deed, those who executed powerful orders were free from sin; it was the decision-makers who bore it.

This was why Odin bore deep sin. Though the soldiers carried out his commands, he bore all resulting guilt.

Yet often, those who executed orders did so beyond necessity, becoming the decision-makers of evil themselves.

Ideally, soldiers fought only enemy combatants. Yet some, finding civilians or valuable targets, were more likely to commit atrocities.

War had a way of amplifying certain human traits, even under strict discipline.

Forseti, formerly part of Asgard's conquest force, had faced similar temptations. Fear of the Holy Deed kept him from yielding to such impulses. Over time, these boundaries became second nature, quelling his violent urges.

Perhaps, unknowingly, he had come to truly believe in the Holy Light, not merely out of duty... Forseti mused.

"Believe in the Holy Light!" He charged toward the direction indicated by the Holy Light pointer, echoing Tirion Fordring's words.

The battle between Odin and Laufey was indistinct, difficult to parse. Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield, the Frost Giants' disadvantage grew more pronounced.

Hela dispatched her adversaries one by one, Mjölnir's strike summoning thunder upon Laufey.

"Boom!"

Caught off guard, Laufey was hurled by the warhammer.

Odin pursued, spear aimed at Laufey's head, its tip crackling with thunder.

The Tesseract in Laufey's left hand flickered, and he vanished, narrowly evading Odin's blow.

Two seconds later, Laufey reappeared a short distance away.

Scanning the deteriorating situation, he finally declared, "Retreat! Back to Jotunheim!"

A massive portal opened, through which the Frost Giants quickly retreated.

Odin confronted Laufey, reins in hand, and spoke from his mount, eight-legged and majestic, "Laufey, surrender the Space Gem, and Asgard will agree to a lasting peace with Jotunheim. No more wars."

Laufey remained silent, unmoved, showing no intention of relinquishing the Space Gem.

Odin sighed softly, continuing, "After so many years of war, I am weary... Laufey, aren't you?"

As Frost Giants retreated one by one into Jotunheim, the Tesseract flickered in Laufey's hand. The portal shrank rapidly until only one person could pass.

"If you seek the Space Gem, come to Jotunheim and try." With those words, Laufey stepped back into the portal, disappearing.
