[Scene]
After learning about the showdown between the United States and the Soviet Union in a New York clothing store, Forseti sped towards the Caribbean Sea. Although he missed the Aral Sea explosion, he arrived just in time to witness Professor X's broken leg and Magneto's impending blackout.
Currently, things proceeded smoothly; the Cuban Missile Crisis was averted in time without incident.
Forseti observed from the shore and witnessed the iconic scene of the nuclear submarine's extraction.
It's noteworthy that as Magneto pulled the submarine, the Eye of Reckoning observed energy fluctuations on his body, shifting from five layers to six layers, occasionally reverting to five, indicating unstable capacity.
This sixth-level strength approached the pinnacle of human abilities, second only to the Supreme Sorcerer, the Ancient One, and comparable to Thor in Asgard.
However, what the Eye of Reckoning perceived was energy level, reflecting output energy, which differs from actual combat prowess and cannot be directly equated.
Thus, despite Magneto's level 6 status, owing to his ability's nature, he could be strangled by an ordinary human if devoid of metal. In a showdown with Thor, his odds of victory would be slim.
Could he steal Mjölnir, though? Forseti briefly entertained the idea.
Quickly dismissing it, he realized even if Magneto could wield Mjölnir through his abilities, he wouldn't harness its true power. In his hands, Mjölnir was barely different from an ordinary hammer, weighing a mere 40 pounds, insufficient to best Thor.
Forseti continued his silent observation.
As anticipated, Magneto retrieved Sebastian Shaw's submarine but faced an attack by Shaw's men with a tornado, forcing the plane into an emergency near-crash landing.
Upon landing, Magneto tore into the nuclear submarine on the shore, breaching it in pursuit of his adversary, Xiao.
Meanwhile, both American and Soviet fleets at sea monitored the unfolding events, exchanging views and strategizing.
"It seems these mutants are provoking us," remarked the US military commander. "They aim to disrupt global peace. We cannot allow this."
"Indeed, the US and Soviet Union stand united as close allies. I've briefed the Kremlin; Comrade Khrushchev will decide wisely," affirmed the Soviet representative.
The emergence of mutants was indeed surprising for both the US and USSR, especially since mutants were likely behind the Cuban Missile Crisis, or would have been if not for their intervention.
Transferring the conflict to mutants could ease tensions between the superpowers, potentially overturning the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Isn't it a beautiful prospect?
Unsurprisingly, the US military commander promptly relayed to the Soviets, "Comrade, we've received orders to eliminate these mutant criminals on the spot. Let us unite to show mankind's solidarity."
To which the Soviet side agreed, "Comrade Khrushchev supports our action against these mutant criminals."
During this time, Professor X and Magneto cooperated in eliminating Sebastian Xiao.
Magneto emerged from the nuclear submarine carrying Xiao's body, addressing nearby mutants, "Today, our internal strife ends!"
The mutants paused, Charles' gaze filled with concern. "Eric?"
Eric gestured towards the US-Soviet fleet at sea, proclaiming, "Our true enemies are there—humans! I sense them targeting us, uniting in fear to annihilate us inferior races!"
Charles breathed heavily, hand on his forehead, emitting brainwaves.
Eric glanced at him. "Go, Charles, verify if I'm right."
Charles swiftly sensed the intentions of US and Soviet troops through brainwaves, his heart sinking in silence.
Indeed, as Eric foresaw, the US and Soviet Union allied to eradicate them, despite the presence of human agents.
"Fire!" Both US and Soviet forces simultaneously ordered fire.
"Boom boom—"
Cannonballs, missiles, and shells erupted from both fleets, blanketing the sky, converging on the shore to exterminate all mutants.
Most mutants paled, but Eric remained composed.
Raising his hand, a powerful magnetic force surged forth, ensnaring missiles as if in an invisible quagmire.
With a slight gesture, suspended missiles redirected towards the US and Soviet fleets.
"Eric, we can't do this!" Charles' expression shifted drastically.
Ignoring him, Eric manipulated the missiles, guiding them back to the human fleets at sea.
"Stop, Eric!" Charles rushed forward, attempting to intervene.
However, Eric wore Sebastian Shaw's helmet, shielding his mind from brainwaves, while Charles and others wore metal anti-G suits, momentarily powerless.
Unable to halt Eric, Charles clenched his teeth, brainwaves extending once more.
"Help us, aid humanity... unknown beings, I know you possess such power. I believe you're willing to intervene." Voices echoed near Forseti.
Realizing it was Charles' plea, Forseti prepared to act, though the situation perplexed him.
Eric attacked Charles, Hank, and others. Observing this, the timeline seemed disrupted—Charles' impending paralysis, as in the original book, might no longer transpire.
Regardless, Forseti resolved to intervene. As a spiritual being and committed spectator, he opposed Magneto's actions against the US and Soviet fleets, fearing a mutant-human war.
Almost simultaneously, as Charles sought aid, Forseti activated Wrath of Vengeance and Seraph, holy wings breaking the sound barrier.
"Boom!" The sonic barrier shattered, thunderous and resounding.
Eric, stunned, heard a golden rainbow streaking from the coast, near the missile in an instant.
Thereafter, a blur, and a blond youth in suit and leather shoes emerged from the golden rainbow. With a swift motion, two fiery chains shot out towards the nearby missile!
