[Wake up Carol]
"Boom!"
The dazzling figure and the shield of holy light collided violently, and dazzling rays of light burst out.
"Carol!" Despite the blinding light, Maria immediately recognized the approaching figure—it was her close friend, long presumed dead, Carol Danvers.
Carol was about to continue her attack when she heard Maria's cry. Her body shook, and she abruptly stopped.
"It's me, Maria. Don't you remember me?" Maria said, looking at Carol in disbelief.
"Maria..." Carol repeated the name in confusion. Fragments of memories buried deep within her soul surged forth, creating a collision of two identities.
Danvers? Vers?
The two identities and the emotions behind them clashed violently, causing Carol to quickly fall into pain and cover her forehead.
"Who am I?" she murmured.
Maria Rambo said quickly, "Of course, you are Carol, Carol Danvers, my best friend, a pilot... Do you remember the Pancho bar we used to go to?"
"Pancho Bar..." The name pierced Carol's heart and struck her soul.
The Kree noticed her strangeness, and Yon-Rogg's voice came from the communication device: "Vers, return to Hala immediately! This is the order of the Supreme Intelligence!"
"Supreme Intelligence!" Carol subconsciously quivered, indicating the unusual position the Supreme Intelligence held in her heart.
Maria took her arm and said anxiously, "You are not a Kree. The Kree Empire is our enemy. Stop following their instructions."
"Return to Hala immediately!" Yon-Rogg exclaimed, "Do you want to betray the Kree Empire?"
However, his reprimands only fueled Carol's reflection and struggle. Instead of obeying the order without hesitation, she stopped to think.
"I brought pictures of you from the past." Maria took out an album and opened it. It was full of pictures of the two of them, both single and group photos. These familiar scenes echoed Carol's deepest memories.
"This is Boston, your hometown. This is the Joint Base, where we were selected as test pilots... This is Dr. Lawson, Wendy Lawson. Do you remember her?"
"Dr. Lawson!" The names of her commander and best friend who crashed with her made Carol feel like she was struck by lightning. The fragmented memories of the crash quickly resurfaced.
The sky, the beam, the pursuit, the crash landing, the dead Dr. Lawson... and the light-speed engine that erupted violently.
These violent scenes, like rapid tides, broke through the barriers of her memory!
With the clarity of the crash, the past and the present finally connected, and her shattered and chaotic memories stitched together. For powerful beings their minds are also formidable, especially Carol whose energy comes from tesseract.
Carol's eyes finally became calm. She looked up at the sky and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Carol, have you finally remembered?" Maria said in surprise.
Carol smiled, "Yes, I remember. I'm Carol Danvers from Boston, not Kree Vers."
Maria was so excited that she hugged Carol. "That's great!"
Forseti then smiled and said, "Welcome back to reality, Carol."
Carol looked at him, frowning slightly. "I have a question. Can you answer me?"
"What question?"
"Why do you seem to know me well? You knew my name the first time we met, and I didn't even know it at the time."
Forseti said, "Asgard often gets news of Earth, and I care about Earth more than most Asgardians."
Carol was about to say something when Yon-Rogg's voice came from her communication device again: "Vers, Supreme Intelligence—"
She pressed a button on her suit, either turning off the device or destroying it. "These despicable Kree... It's time for them to pay the price."
Forseti said, "Compared to the Kree, their ally Thanos is a more formidable threat. Thanos is our real enemy."
Carol nodded. "Very well. Whether it's the Kree or Thanos, let's start the counterattack."
Captain Marvel's defection completely overwhelmed the Kree and Thanos. They could no longer organize a strong resistance, nor maintain their alliance.
Finally, not long after, when Asgard was about to invade the Kree capital, Hala, the Kree Empire announced its surrender, proposed by the Supreme Accuser Ronan.
"No one can take Hala before the Kree surrender"—a phrase once used against Ronan, but it still held true.
The Kree Empire surrendered, and the Thanos Legion, unable to support itself, fared even worse. Defeats continued.
Less than a month after the Kree surrendered, Thanos' forces, like a punctured balloon, shrank rapidly and scattered, being chased and intercepted by Asgardian coalition forces across the universe, nearly returning to their original state as interstellar pirates.
Victory was at hand.
In a huge battleship, Forseti discussed the final battle with Carol, Heimdall, and others.
"We have locked onto Thanos' Sanctuary ship. Today is the day for the decisive battle," Forseti said, pointing to the star map projection in front of him, showing Thanos' Sanctuary ship.
Heimdall suddenly patted his belly. "I have an ominous premonition."
"What premonition?"
"I feel... we might be defeated by Thanos' troops." He waved his hand. "Of course, it's more likely an illusion. Thanos is dead. How can we fail?"
Carol smiled. "That's right. Intuition is often unreliable. When I became a pilot, abandoning intuition was an introductory course."
"It's finally over," said Volstagg, stroking his shaggy beard. "When the war is over, I'll go back to Vanaheim to be with my people. I am their prince, after all."
Forseti said seriously, "Nevertheless, we still can't be careless."
"Thanos himself is powerful, one of the strongest fighters active in the universe today. His subordinates, Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive, are formidable. The Black Order's Supergiant is even more mysterious, rarely showing up. We don't yet know her true power."
While everyone was discussing, Loki entered the room but was immediately forced to stop at the door by Forseti and the others.
"Uh." Loki smiled awkwardly but politely, glancing around. "Where's Thor? Why isn't Thor here?"
