The past

Leonor's eyes locked onto Varghese's, her gaze intense. "Varghese, I need to know what happened between you and Sofia. In detail."

Varghese hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. But Leonor's piercing eyes left him no choice. He took a deep breath and began to explain.

"Sofia and I met at a party, and we hit it off. We talked, laughed, and danced together. One thing led to another, and we ended up spending the night together."

Leonor's eyes narrowed. "Just once?"

Varghese nodded. "Yes, just once. It was a one-night stand, Leonor. I swear."

Leonor's gaze didn't waver. "And did you have feelings for her?"

Varghese hesitated, not wanting to hurt Leonor. "I...I cared for her, yes. But it wasn't love. It was just a connection, a spark."

Leonor's expression softened slightly, and she nodded. "I see. And what about now? Do you still have feelings for her?"

Varghese's eyes locked onto Leonor's, his heart beating fast. "No, Leonor. My feelings for you are different. I love you, not Sofia."

Leonor's face relaxed, and she smiled. "I love you too, Varghese."

The tension between them dissipated, replaced by a warm embrace. Varghese knew he had passed the test, and Leonor had accepted his past. But he also knew that their relationship was still fragile, and he needed to be careful not to hurt her again.
