Chapter 30: A Heart Divided

"I think he did. I know he did and with all I saw between you both, he would have really been hurt as much as we were that day.”

Lyra knew her sister was right, but it did little to ease the ache in her heart. “I wonder if he thinks about me as much as I think about him.” She whined.

“Oh, Lyra,” Alina who was getting a bit frustrated turned to Lyra.

Lyra without moving her body turned her head to look at Alina. They gazed at each other for a while. Alina felt pity for Lyra. They were both hurting but for once, she had to try to be the big sister.

“He does, Lyra. I know he does. Cedric is a good man.” Alina assured her. “But we have to keep moving forward. For us and our future. This might be hard to accept but you have to accept the reality that you may never see him again." She added.

Lyra pouted and blinked playfully. Once again, her sister was right. Then Alina embraced her. They were in the embrace position when Lyra interrupted the moment.
