Seeing the three options before him, Yuhara fell into deep thought. None of these abilities were from the world of "Naruto," and two of them came from a game he had played in his previous life. The other one seemed to come from a world where someone could destroy a planet with a single punch.
Although the origins of these abilities were peculiar, he couldn't deny that they were extremely appealing. The Flight Technique would allow him to fly using chakra—a rare ability in the entire "Naruto" world. The Secret Technique: Chidori appeared to be modified from the original, allowing thrown kunai to carry the power of Chidori. Most importantly, if he didn't have the lightning release, acquiring this ability would naturally grant him the lightning chakra nature.
"This is incredible! Not only do I get a powerful jutsu, but I also gain an additional chakra nature."
As for the last ability, Glorious Evolution, it was clearly a passive skill. Without following a "mechanical ascension" route, it could enhance one of his abilities. Although the conditions were stringent, requiring him to kill enemies to collect power fragments, the effect was truly formidable. This meant that if Yuhara's Sharingan was at the three-tomoe level, he could use this ability to upgrade it to the Mangekyo Sharingan.
"Is this considered a gift falling into my lap?"
Despite his poor mood, the rewards made the situation somewhat bearable. Having the Mangekyo Sharingan would grant him some level of self-protection within the clan. Although time was running out, he had to strive for his survival. He couldn't accept dying in this wretched place!
"Skill acquired: Glorious Evolution."
"Activation conditions: Requires 100 power fragments for activation."
"Power fragments: Jounin - 25 fragments, Chuunin - 20 fragments, Genin - 10 fragments, ordinary enemies - 1 to 5 fragments."
"Friendly reminder: Ninja rank does not equate to ninja strength. Host, please strive diligently."
After making his choice, the system prompt reappeared in his retinas. The detailed conditions made things clearer, and the final friendly reminder invigorated him. It was well known that ninja ranks didn't always correlate with strength. For example, Naruto Uzumaki was still a Genin during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Similarly, Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama were classified as Jounin. Equating ninja rank with actual power was a common misconception and a major pitfall.
While chakra reserves and strength were used to approximate a ninja's rank, it was merely a reference point. Knowing someone had the chakra reserves of a Jounin meant preparing to face a Jounin-level opponent, and that was crucial.
"If it's just about ninja ranks, then it's much easier. Damn system, if you'd activated earlier, I could have just joined the police force!"
Yuhara was a mission-oriented ninja. Although his talent allowed him entry into the police force, he ultimately refused to join. This was a strategy to protect his reputation, as the police force had a terrible reputation in Konoha. He didn't want to be associated with it. However, he now regretted it slightly, as the police force managed a critical location—Konoha's prison.
The police force had significant authority, despite the Uchiha clan's self-destructive actions tarnishing its reputation. Konoha's leadership used this to reduce the police force's power, but the prison remained under their control. This was likely to further tarnish the police force's reputation, a tactic Konoha had consistently employed.
"Going to the police force for the prison is unrealistic now. I guess I'll have to catch people myself."
Yuhara sighed in resignation. For the sake of his eyes, he decided to venture out and capture enemies. With this in mind, he left his home and quickly found himself on the busy streets. Time was pressing, and he had many tasks to complete.
As he walked, he pondered who he should eliminate first. The ninja world was vast, but Jounin were rare, being strategic assets of their villages. They were hard to find and even harder to deal with. However, he remembered one potential target—Aoi Rokushō.
This guy had been a Chuunin in Konoha but became a Jounin after stealing the Sword of the Thunder God and defecting. Such an individual would be relatively easy to deal with, but the problem was that Aoi had fled to Amegakure! Amegakure was not a place he could venture into lightly. Even Jiraiya had died there; in his current weakened state, he would be doomed.
"This is really troublesome."
As Yuhara walked, he rubbed his temples, feeling increasingly frustrated. How could he find and defeat four Jounin? Just then, a voice called out, making his body tense up. He cursed himself for being so lost in thought that he didn't notice his surroundings. If it had been an enemy, he would have been in serious trouble.
Turning around, he relaxed slightly upon seeing the familiar face. He smiled.
"It's you, Shisui. You're back?"
Indeed, the person behind him was Uchiha Shisui. Shisui and Yuhara were from the same cohort and had a competitive relationship. However, as they spent time together, Yuhara found Shisui to be quite agreeable, unlike the insufferable Uchiha Itachi. Shisui's personality was soft, and he chose to end his own life in extreme circumstances, but he didn't blindly side with either the village or the clan. His greatest wish was for harmony between the village and the clan.
In contrast, Yuhara deeply disliked Itachi, who always thought he could control everything. Yuhara had interacted with Itachi as a child, but after expressing his own views, Itachi distanced himself. Shisui, however, appreciated Yuhara's idea of unity between the clan and the village, which strengthened their bond.
Now, with the clan forcibly binding him, Yuhara's dissatisfaction with Itachi grew. As for Shisui, Yuhara knew he had to take action.
"Shisui's ideals haven't gone astray, and he has the potential to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. He's definitely someone I need to recruit!"
