Chapter 27: Persuasion by Reason

Following Shisui to a residence within the Uchiha clan's territory, Yuhara noted that Shisui opened the door for him and gestured for him to enter, indicating he would stand guard outside. It was now up to Yuhara to handle the rest.

Yuhara was quite surprised at Shisui's efficiency. He had no idea what Shisui had told the elder behind him or what this meeting would entail. Nevertheless, Yuhara felt no fear. Since obtaining the Mangekyo Sharingan, he had surpassed his former self significantly. If trouble arose, he wouldn't hesitate to use his eyes to resolve it. Though he hoped for a peaceful resolution, he wasn't afraid to face any problems head-on.

Entering the room slowly, Yuhara couldn't help but glance around. It was his first time here, and his curiosity got the better of him. The room was small and simple, with a traditional feel. Sliding doors were on both sides, and the only decoration was a large "忍" (Ninja) character hanging in the center. Sitting directly beneath it was the elder, Uchiha Sou, if Yuhara remembered correctly.

"I wonder if you have a brother named Uchiha Itachi or a superior named Uchiha Itachi. If so, I hope you have both," Yuhara silently mused before stepping forward to stand before the elder, looking down at him.

Uchiha Sou frowned at Yuhara's stance, finding it quite disrespectful. But he quickly dismissed this thought, knowing that if Shisui's words were true, then Yuhara had every right to be disrespectful. After all, the Mangekyo Sharingan was a rare and powerful asset.

The Uchiha clan had not seen many Mangekyo Sharingan since Uchiha Madara left the village and the chaotic era of the four pairs of Mangekyo Sharingan during Uchiha Tajima's time. The only current possessor was Shisui. But now, it seemed that Yuhara, Shisui's friend from childhood, had also awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Given Shisui's deep trust and upbringing under Sou's guidance, Sou believed Shisui wouldn't lie about something so significant. However, Yuhara was different. He never chose sides within the clan and seemed to have little attachment to it. Perhaps this outsider's perspective allowed him to see the clan's problems more clearly and take unconventional, even rebellious, actions that had somehow earned Shisui's trust.

Sighing deeply, Uchiha Sou looked up at the imposing Yuhara and spoke quietly, "Sit down, child."

"Thank you for your hospitality, Elder," Yuhara replied with a smile, sitting down slowly. He wasn't usually one to be overbearing, but he knew that sometimes he needed to project strength. Only then would others fear him and take his words seriously.

Using fear to gain compliance was generally unreliable. Yuhara preferred reasoning with people, but for now, he could only rely on "reason"—in this case, his physical power.

"Shisui spoke to me about many things," Uchiha Sou began, feeling slightly more comfortable with Yuhara seated.

"Oh? What did he say?" Yuhara raised an eyebrow. "And why did you summon me in such haste? What do you want to discuss?"

"I want to hear your plans," Uchiha Sou said directly. "Shisui mentioned you intend to depose the clan leader and reunite the family. It's a dangerous idea, but I admit it could benefit the clan. So, I want to hear how you plan to achieve this. What are your thoughts and strategies? Shisui wants me to help you, but I need to see hope before I commit."

Hope? Yuhara believed Sou's words to an extent but doubted he was being entirely honest. Recalling his discussions with Shisui, Yuhara realized he had said many things. However, it was likely the Mangekyo Sharingan that persuaded the elder to meet him.

"You want to hear my plans?" Yuhara smiled, then closed his eyes. Instantly, a menacing, destructive chakra emanated from him, filling the room with a sense of dread that even made Uchiha Sou shudder.

"Very well, I understand. But I think your concerns go beyond just that. Whatever Shisui told you, you're here to verify something crucial, something you fear yet desire, something that could change the Uchiha clan. Isn't that right?"

Opening his eyes, Yuhara revealed the spinning triangular pattern of the Mangekyo Sharingan within his blood-red irises.

"You want to confirm whether I possess the Mangekyo Sharingan, don't you?"
