Although Yuhara thought training in the middle of the night was a bit crazy, he couldn't sleep. The events that transpired today were overwhelming, making it hard for him to digest everything.
First, he encountered his old teammate, Nara Kotoba, who subtly hinted that he should escape while he could. Then he met Naruto, who he casually teased. Finally, he was pulled into a meeting with Uchiha Sou, where they discussed a lot. Except for Naruto, these were all matters that required serious thought.
Yuhara had planned to train today anyway, and since he couldn't sleep and Shisui was available, he decided to use Shisui as his sparring partner. "This way, we can bond and I can get used to my new abilities. It's a win-win," Yuhara thought as he arrived at Training Ground Three.
Due to the late hour, the training ground was empty. The moonlight bathed the area in a serene glow. However, as Yuhara stepped in, he suddenly frowned, sensing something off. Despite not being a sensory ninja, his experience in numerous battles over fifteen years made him acutely aware of danger.
He halted and scanned his surroundings, curious about who might be causing trouble. "Is it the Uchiha? Unlikely. Internal disputes are intense, but they wouldn't act rashly. Could it be Konoha? I haven't provoked them... or maybe..."
He remembered his brief encounter with Naruto earlier. Could Konoha be so vigilant, or had their animosity towards the Uchiha reached such a level? "Come out! Stop skulking around like sewer rats," Yuhara called out, preparing for battle. He doubted they had good intentions.
When no one responded, Yuhara wondered if he had imagined it. But he wasn't about to let his guard down. Taking a deep breath, he pulled out several kunai, his eyes turning crimson in an instant. Scanning for potential hiding spots, his Sharingan quickly identified several locations.
Without hesitation, he hurled the kunai at those spots. "Ding, ding, ding..." The sound of metal clashing and sparks flying illuminated the night as several figures leapt out from their hiding places. Their black ninja gear and animal masks marked them unmistakably.
"Anbu?" Yuhara asked, though he wasn't sure. These people probably had something to do with his interaction with Naruto earlier. "Uchiha Yuhara, come with us," the lead Anbu commanded in a cold, mechanical voice devoid of emotion, making Yuhara frown.
"If you want me to go with you, shouldn't you at least tell me who you are?" Yuhara asked, unmoved. He needed to confirm a few things. "And even if I were to go, you should give me a reason."
"We don't need a reason to act," the Anbu leader replied, his voice growing colder. "You have two choices: come quietly, or we'll take you by force."
Yuhara's initial surprise turned into laughter. He now knew who they were. Being familiar with Shisui and some Anbu methods, Yuhara knew that Anbu wouldn't act without solid evidence or a reason. But there was one department that didn't need such constraints: Root, Danzo's secret organization.
Root operatives didn't need reasons. They could detain or kill with just a claim of "threatening Konoha's safety." Realizing this, Yuhara's eyes turned dangerous. Danzo was his most despised character in the original series, a hypocrite with self-serving motives.
Without further ado, Yuhara assumed a combat stance. He knew about Root but could claim these were impostors. "You don't have my intel straight. I have friends in Anbu," he said, his Sharingan spinning rapidly and chakra surging.
"Anbu doesn't operate like you. Pretending to be Anbu is a serious crime," Yuhara's voice turned low and threatening.
"You're not coming with us, then?" the leader asked. Seeing Yuhara's stance, he nonchalantly waved his hand. "In that case, kill him."
At his command, the other Root ninjas sprang at Yuhara. Knowing this couldn't end peacefully, Yuhara's disdain for Danzo deepened. If Danzo sent his men to their deaths, it was no concern of Yuhara's.
"Since you sent your men to die, don't blame me," Yuhara thought, his Sharingan spinning faster. Ignoring the charging ninjas, he smiled and said, "A bunch of insects. Tonight, witness the power of the Uchiha!"
In an instant, his Sharingan's three tomoe merged into one, and a potent, destructive chakra burst forth.
