Chapter 4-So what? journey?

"This is... The first time to think about death without worrying..." Raspy voice of a tired creature echoed in the lone cave. The sun rose above the horizon, aligning with the rift above; the hanging  vines that were decorated with glassy stones dangled in the air, creating light twinkles that caressed Fuxiao's ears.

Fuxiao face was floating on his little pool, watching as the sun started to look like a smirking man. Somehow, that smirk destroyed his mood even more, how did he even think of that though? If he has the power to snatch the sun, he would surely squeeze it and watch it oozing out juices, only if it has juices in it though. The sun would probably turn into a dust if squeezed instead.

His eyes were the same color as the sun, but the similarity is budging him out. The hidden vein on his forehead bulged out secretly; eyes twitching in pain.

"This is the first time... Actually wanting it to happen..."

It has only been a day living with that pure–no–inorganic creature, and it's driving him crazier than usual. All he ever wanted was to find out little things about himself that gives him purpose, yet he had unfortunately stumbled upon this thing!

He was warned by his willow trees with obvious signs, but he's a man of culture, he doesn't want to waste time believing those nonsensical things; saving time is essential ᕦ( ᐛ )ᕡ.

Anyhow, submitting to a war is no different from waking up early in the holy's morning to hear the idiot's so-called "morning drill". Even chickens' calls are inferior to his energy and loud voice—if that's the morning, then the night would incomparable. He couldn't even sleep properly due to the loud snores of that idiot.

If he hadn't paid any attention to that dying idiot back then, he shouldn't end up in this situation. He hadn't even agreed to investigate about his hidden past, maybe he's a bit curious, but he's more curious about his purpose of existence.

What's the point of remembering his past when it's already in the past anyway? Rather putting himself back to the past, it's better to put himself back to queue. He doesn't need to know who he was, he needed to know what he is.

Fuxiao heaved out a loud sigh, breaking the loud silence that enveloped the space of his cave. This cave was once filled with serenity until that idiot. If he had known "trespassing" is a crime, he would've accused Shen Gui for trespassing, in public. He took a deep breath to calm his conflict.

A petal from an orchid flower came drifting down to Fuxiao's cheek, its strong floral scent reached his nose, causing him to shift his position hastily. He sat down on the second level staircase of his pool, allowing his legs to sink in the water. The moss beneath him is tickling his skin, not minding how dirty it looks.

Yeah right, it was Shen Gui who sculpted his pool to make it bearable for him to bathe it, extending the width a little. That idiot's hand was unexpectedly remarkable, he even sculpted a PiXiu statue and placed it in front of the cave's entrance to make as their pinpoints whenever they leave the cave in case if they get lost.

That man's terrifyingly active. He even sang a little song while doing his activities, something of a child's rhyme, but it was something foreign. Fuxiao understood that; by the looks of this idiot, people would date say that he's a western foreigner walking in their lands. Though, it's easy to spot a half-blooded person from a full blooded—examine their behavior.

By Fuxiao's guess, he's probably half-beast, half-human. No. Maybe it's half-beast, half-demon. He can't decide, they're all the same! He swung his leg, splashing the green water around him as it glistens under the sun's brightness.

"Mary had a lidada," he hummed the next part, the words were far too foreign for him to memories, atleast the first part was easy to sing. Still, it's a waste of time trying to memories the whole lyrics.

Back when Shen Gui was working on the pool's structure, Fuxiao had the chance  to push him on the water, but the water couldn't even drown a fish, so it wouldn't typically suffocate him.

"Hmm... Maybe next time."

***

Fuxiao walks over to his bed, his handmade garment dangling over his hips. He used to collect junks to sell it out, though he stopped after he gathered those dazzling garments that refracts lights; thus, he combined them to make a draping garment with a thin fabric that could cover his lower half. As it covered his front area, to make it even, he attached another fabric from the other to stop the insects from biting his plump buttocks.

Never has he ever worn those thick fabrics that covers a whole body with each different layers, wearing those would only make his body deflate from the amount of heaviness it contains. He doesn't know what's inside of those evil things, but it tells him that it's something that he shouldn't wear.

There was that time when a woman threw him a pair of clothes, claiming that it's inappropriate for a man to recklessly walk around with barely half of his body being covered. Of course he couldn't take harsh feedbacks from the people he didn't even ask for, so he refused to obey her commands until she did it herself.

Just as he was fully covered in those demonic things, that woman started to wonder why he was panting hardly, but  she didn't mind it, atleast it covered his body.

It took him days to walk back to his cave suited in that cursed thing. Once he finally reached back home, he ripped it all apart and threw himself on the pool while mumbling something like a curse. Why is it so hard for people to just mind their own business instead of forcing their surroundings the way they wanted it to be? He have to make a move and let people adjust the way he dresses.

That did work out, though now with Shen Gui around, he felt like covering his whole body with bricks and shackles instead.

He glared at the clothes set beside him, as though it has little feets to escape his grasp cowardly. Fuxiao has to make sure it's not enchanted with something, or else he'll definitely kill it.

Contemplating if he should just wear it and suffocate, or sacrifice his ego to save himself from stifling. But the thought of Shen Gui's taunting persuasion made him feel uneasy, so he had to replace his garment with the clothes, he wouldn't want that dirty, pouty face that sends him thousands of bolts down his spine. It's so terrifying!!

"Haiiyahh~ I know you're showering and I... Ahhh!!!" Shen Gui screamed like a little girl after seeing Fuxiao lying on the ground with foam trickling down his pale complexion.

He rushed over to the creature's side and assisted him to sit up. Fuxiao's head tilted on the side as the foam kept spilling out from his mouth.

"No, no. Don't die on me, bud!!"

The clothes expectedly choked Fuxiao's neck as the result of tight crossed lapels, he didn't even bother to share a glimpse of Shen Gui's face, it'll only kill him further.

Fuxiao opened his trembling mouth, trying to gasp out a single word with a raspy voice, "Clean.. The willow path." The last word took out almost half of the candle's last breath, the ignited fire within Fuxiao's eyes suddenly dimmed. The strings that kept him attached on his body snapped one by one, letting him know that his time has finally come.

"Noooooooo!!"

***

Shen Gui crossed his arms and glared at Fuxiao who had his knees on the ground, trying his best to avert his gaze from the idiot, who could have known that this idiot's gaze is as broad as the clear skies? He can't escape it no matter how many times he builds a wall.

"There's no wonder you don't have any clothes for this reason," Shen Gui puffed out.

He almost lost his dear friend back there if he hadn't stretched out the clothes, he got his strength under control, ripping clothes is probably the last thing he wanted to do. The creature was too humbled after that and tries to avoid eye contacts from his complaints.

It shouldn't be that deep.

Now that he's kneeling for some reason, he couldn't bring himself to stand up to fight back for his own privilag–Wait why is he kneeling?

"Next time, if you don't know something that humans have, you should atleast ask me," it was as if he's scolding a child from breaking the vase.

Fuxiao snapped off from his thoughts, raising up his head to speak up, but Shen Gui raised his forefinger in front of him. From who knows why, but it silenced him once again. Something was telling him that this movement is kind of mean.

"Don't make anymore fuss, if you want some help, then call for me. Now, if you excuse me, I'll go fetch some food." Just like that, Shen Gui left Fuxiao all alone.

Right now, he's inside the house that they constructed out of woodsand bricks. It's particularly absurd how the idiot thought it would be a great idea to erect a house in front of the cave's entrance. Fuxiao's mind was clouded with his pre-judgement at that time, agreeing to the idea that he would simply lament after the finished product.

And, believe it or not, that idiot managed to finish a whole house in a whole day.

Though, the house was sturdy enough to hold onto Shen Gui's weight, Fuxiao could imagine it having two muscular arms that blocks any threatening obstacles that may fly all the way there.

Not to mention, almost every small spaces that wasn't filled with furnitures were always carved with animals or clouds. Even the jars were painted with dancing fairies, from big to small, as well as the corners. Although, Fuxiao didn't hate that, in fact, he was quite amazed how Shen Gui managed to fulfill his major irritation.

Nevertheless, he was still irked by the idiot's mere appearance. His cheeks would always sunken to his bones, replaying that time on his mind again and again.

Shen Gui is out there, looking for meats and something else to cook for their daily meals, and it's not that his culinary skills are bad enough to leave an acid on his stomach, but the way that Shen Gui was able to do the things he couldn't, tells how dependent he is.

His heart is itched a sense of autonomy. Though, he have to pull himself together, trying to remind himself of his main goal. Fuxiao sighed, "Right... Mating... Whatever it is, I need to find them immediately and shoot the aim."

With an abrupt flick of his arm, he was cloaked in a dark cape that was hung on the wall. Fuxiao's determination suddenly burned, igniting as his motivation kept increasing.

His nose flared up and enhaled all of the idiot's remaining scent; they bathe differently whilst they both bathe in strong scents, Shen Gui bathes in strong scented flowers while Fuxiao bathes in strong scented forest odor. That idiot's scent would always fill up the air from his, it's quite easy to track him down from his oblivious little acts.

Fuxiao stepped down from the house's wooden stairs before taking off his boots and throwing them to the window. Just as he said, he doesn't want demonic things clinging onto his skin, deliberately killing him. The dried ground underneath his feet calmed him down, eventually finding himself sniffing on Shen Gui's floral scent repeatedly.

***

A hard thud of a weighed object fell on a bush heavily, causing the ground to vibrate. Shen Gui heaved out a deep sigh, dragging the wild chicken he killed.  During hunting, he would always put all of his senses in one concentration for him to detect the coming danger.

Knowing that someone was following him, he deliberately brought himself to the danger zone of the forest to bait the stalker with him, that also means his life too. Even so, it somehow worked for a dream so advanced.

The forest was vividly green, from the grass to the leaves of each different trees; the flowers that were blooming from varient places collided with Fuxiao's scent. Birds were flapping their wings as they freed themselves in the air.

Such beautiful, beautiful dream about nature.

Turning around, he strode towards that quivering bush, steps light and calculated. Back then, whenever he played with the children, he would always win the trophy, making the other child bawl their eyes out. Sooner, he got bored of winning and tried to play on his own anyway. The most win he would often get is from this game called "hide and seek". There's no need for this creep to hide though, they are too dense with their hiding spot.

Stopping on his tracks, a question mark appeared right on top of the bush, forgetting about Shen Gui's presence. Actually, Shen Gui turned into a stone as he observed the tall tree that has a weird-patterned bark. There's a big hollow on the highest thick branch that he have to tilt his head to spot that.

Now that is the great spot to hide ° ͜ʖ ͡ -

His fingers curled between the leaves of the bush, as he pulled it out, its roots left the ground, saying bye bye to their mother land. Shen Gui's brow jerked up, the leaves screamed under the heavy pressure of his grip.

As expected. Am I in some kind of comic that I've read before I slept? This creature should be the main character, aight?

What an exquisite display of hiding, lurking inside of a shaddy cape's identity. It's kind of impressive how this creature tried to hide himself through cheap disguise, he could have just used some kind of special powers to conceal identity...

"Right?" Shen Gui lifted off Fuxiao's cloak, revealing that dumbfounded visage of a confused creature. A big grin played on his lips, showing his sharp canines.

For a dream world so enchanting, this creature is inferior to casting spells? Perhaps this is a cultivation comic or something, he remembered trashing one away though.

Although, with regards of the timeline in this world, it's during the ancient period when Napoleon still probably existed. Though, he seems to be having in this little dream of his.

Maybe it's not bad to loiter a little.

The creature's eyes glimmered under the sunlight's lustre, yet it seems like those eyes were the ones shining instead. Meeting Shen Gui's gaze, his complexion stiffened.

Fuxiao's breath hitched. The acceleration of his heart beat suddenly increased, feeling the space between his eyebrows getting narrower.

"Oh! It's you, ah! Hahah~ what a CO-IN-cidence!" The last spoken words stroke Fuxiao's tolerance, what's up with that tone?

No one has ever tested that tone to him, probably once, but he got them under control. This idiot's incapable of living as a human, he doesn't even want to claim himself as a human anymore. Being alive creature with the same idiot like him is a call for denial.

Fuxiao gripped the grass beneath him, his fingers straining under the crumbs of the dirt. The birds that tweeted non-stop finally halted; wind blowing in his ears, whispering his naivety. Unknowingly, the tips of his ears felt a bit hotter than usual.

"Aww, why the pout?" Shen Gui squeezed the petrified creature's cheeks, as if though he's kneading a dough, it was extremely soft.

Frankly, Fuxiao couldn't move a single muscle nor does he want to move. His mind was already flooded with countless thoughts that wanted to erase this petty idiot's existence and remove him from his memories until his peace would be attained once again. He didn't notice how he's turning into beet red from Shen Gui's humiliation.

Whether or not, it was the insects that squealed, Fuxiao would answer indifferently, "You're an abomination to the world. A chaos that was created from different peace."

Sliding his hand to rest on top the creature's shoulder, he sniffled and blinked many times before showing the face that sent Fuxiao down to the earth's crust, "Y-you're so mean, Fuxiao-kun."

Kun? What does that even mean?

Fuxiao's deformed face contorted in a particularly gruesome way which makes his idiot giggle like it's done kind of play, what he didn't know was that the giggle only played the role as the diabolical curse onto the creature.

"My hands feels a bit heavier, want them as your necklace?" He asked.

Though the idiot was aroused even more, laughing at it as if though it's a joke. Annoyed by the banter, Fuxiao pulled himself closer and set his eyes deep onto this idiot's very little soul.

"Oooh~ look at those sunny eyes~" what's worse was that he kept laughing.

"Y-you! You watch your mouth," he threatened, pressing his finger deeply onto Shen Gui's chest, veins on his temples bulging out as he dug his finger deeper.

But, a small chuckle from Shen Gui's lips caught the little creature's attention; it was as if he enjoyed witnessing the little man's own suffering.

Fuxiao's nose flared up evenly as it scrunched like a sponge, his mouth gaping in an irregular shape, forming more character lines on his face. His eyes were squinted so much it seems like he couldn't even see anymore. That little space between his eyebrows was screaming for an air to breathe.

What, in the name of holy crow of wisdom was that thing? Was that even a human's trait? If I was the demonic lord, I wouldn't accept this thing stepping on my porch.

"Awwieee, my sweet wittew bwuddwy wis shayi shy?" That demonical creature's lips were pouting like a chicken's butt, and justice for the chicken!

Fuxiao's face was locked in that expression. Who would want to move in that kind of situation anyway? The more awkward it gets, the more he'll have the biggest rate to escape this phenomenon.

It's just too bad that Shen Gui's reading ability was able to read the atmosphere, pushing all of the creature's buttons at its finest.

"Awwie mawiee, fufufuah~ you wittew tiwed?"

Now that has gone a bit two far–noooo!!!This idiot's germs has infected him!!

With a smirk, Shen Gui wrapped his arm around the stoned creature, dragging him closer to which Fuxiao's face was buried in between his thick and soft chest. Using his other hand to pat the creature's head, he replied once again, "What's the mwattew~?"
