"Reject you? No! I won’t reject you nor will I accept you. You will stay here, under my watch. You'll never be recognized as my mate, nor will you be treated any differently than the other members. You will work and earn your stay just like everyone else. I tell you this, Katherine. Not a single soul must know we are mates.

"So..." Beta Sam starts, sitting down, eyes on the man before him.

Eyebrows quirked up, a hint of irritation flashing across his face. "So?" Kieran bites back.

"Is there a particular reason why Theo can no longer train Katherine? I mean, your decision came out of the blue, and as far as I know, Theo has always trained the new recruits, so why not her?" Sam asks, lips pressed into a thin line.

Kieran's jaw tightens, and he rolls his eyes. "Do I have to give you a reason before you take a decision now, Sam? Is that it?" Kieran huffs out.

Sam raises his hands in a way that suggests he means no harm. "I'm just saying, Alpha. Theo is the best warrior to train Katherine, as you know. Suddenly cutting him from it might not be exactly..." His words trail off as Kieran's glare sharpens.

"Continue, and I'll ship you off to the Middle East," Kieran grits out tightly, ignoring the hint of a smile that tugs on Sam's lips.
