Chapter 11
The forest was thick around her, the trees standing tall, their leaves rustling in the wind. The air was heavy with the scent of rain. Katherine trudged through the forest, her feet moving faster than they should with no specific destination in mind. She walked more and more, desperately wanting to get out of there.
Then, suddenly, she saw her. A woman, standing still right in the middle of the forest. Her hair was white as snow, flowing like a waterfall over her shoulders. She wore a dress, pure white, which seemed to glow in the darkness. Her eyes, brilliant and blue, locked into Katherine's own.
'It's almost time,' she whispered.
Katherine jolted awake, her heart racing, her body covered in sweat. She dragged her hand over her face, her body reeling from the shock. She could still see the woman's face; it felt real, too real.
